Thank you for another great video. You gave 3 different repairs. The compression fix looks right up my alley.

We had to solder on stops in my early days until the compression ones came out now that's all I use. The one you took off Frisco tx had so much city pressure it would shut them off back when these came out lol

Great video Brian. Thank's for doing it. I just ordered one of the Rigid pipe cutters. Getting ready to replace my Accor/flowtite valves. They are 10 years old.

Thank you so much for a Really easy to follow video. I moved in to this 15 year old patio home and needed to change the water tank pump. I had never seen this type of push pull valve before. It looks Cheap. I am considering changing the two bathroom valves to the ones you mentioned here. I think even I... could do this. Thanks again.

I had a plumber quote me $750 to replace two of these plastic valves. I did one with a Shark Bite and removed it with the pipe cutter as shown. New valve was about $15 and it took ten minutes to cut the old one off. Great demo!

@jattilah

The jokers that did mine originally had it very flush against the wall, so no room to slide it back after cutting it off with the pipe cutter tool! I had to dig the pieces out! It would have gone a lot more smoothly if I would have been able to slide it back like you did. Still very helpful, though. Beats digging around under there with a hacksaw!

Good video, thanks. Do I have to turn the home's main water valve off and drain water before replacing these things? How should I do that, turn off the main and drain water from an outside spigot?
@ThatFixItGuy
@ThatFixItGuy 2 года назад
Yes you want to turn the house water off for sure. These are going to be one of your lowest point of water so if you have anything lower like an out side spigot or fixtures in your basement then drain there. And you will probably still get a little water from here.

Still hit or miss with sharkbite. I have used them in a pinch. Go to is still compression. But got to remember don't over tighten them otherwise they will score into the copper. I am barely starting to embrace upinor over copper. And since copper cost 3 times what it did when I bought my current house guess what? I will be doing my remodel in pex A.
@ThatFixItGuy
@ThatFixItGuy 2 года назад
Yeah I know. Copper is still king, but the price these days is crazy. Over tightening is a thing ran into a lot on compression fittings. Thank you for your comments as usual.

they can and I have seen them. Not a big fan personally. I would just glue a male adapter on or use a sharkbite.

They say you can twist them off. I’ve had mixed results doing that, so I started cutting them off. Then I found you can use a cutter like this. It will be a great headache saver.
