Great video, love Cosworths, they were working class boy racer cars, Cossies's RS turbo's, Renault 5 Turbos etc. Etc were boy racer cars , was a time when cruising was fun back in 90s,now it's all about people wanting status symbol Audi and BMWs on Finance to prove a point to the Neighbours
Another Essex Boy Racer here that used to be a hot hatch driver back in the 90s. Used to love Southend and racing people round Chelmsford and Colchester. Great times! I fought hard against the Essex/Ford rep so i used to be a Vauxhall man with my GTEs (1.8 and 2.0 16v) I had the subs blaring out The Prodigy and went to Max Power weekends and Bug Jam (had a couple of Beetle owning mates too) I miss the 90s bigtime, it was the best time to be in my teens and into my twenties.
Lovely old skool cossie Sierra, what a great oppurtunity to drive one! I remember seeing these in Max Power mag when I was in school, styling still looks great IMO, I'd love to have a razz in one now. And what a sound, great stuff motor addicts
Awesome vlog again Owen 👍🙏😎. Must of had a blast mate in the Cossie stunning example ! Used to watch myself Andy Rouse etc at BTCC so to have an example from him is just a gem of a car ! Stunning ! 👍😎
Came across you on OG's channel and shocked at your amount of subs you boys deserve 300k subs easy. You will get there lads and when you do I will proudly say I followed you from when you had less than 10k. Keep up the amazing content 🤜
Had my sapphire 4 x 4 for 25 years...totally standard ..still get the stupid smiles after all these years...this Rouse is a nice thing and kept standard worth a fortune.never floated my boat...the body kit just looks stuck on.
Watched these fellas on officially gassed proper sound geezers why ain't they got more subs than than this deserve whole lot more subscribers in my opinion keep up good vids mate
Lovely car & a great video. Mate had a 3-door standard cossie, in moonstone blue, in the late-80's but I could never afford one (nor the insurance cost!) & had to settle for an XR4i in caspian blue instead. Sapphire Cosworth 4x4 in magenta was my dream car.
Love the Rouse seats. I tell you what Ford have done some superb seats in their RS models over the years from the fishnet Recaros in the RS 2000 mk2 to the big bolster RS Turbo seats and the wingbacks in this Rouse Sport.
comes with a green/black interior aswell IIRC.....my third favourite colour after miami blue and was it lazer green? not to be confused with VW Lhasa green?
Owen ur soooo lucky like I said in a previous comment the Sierra cossie to me is the ultimate car I've never seen a rouse b4 but I'm in love 😍 what a machine... And omg listen to the flutter
@@MotorAddictswhen I was 15 b4 I even had a licence I used to own a sapphire cosworth and I sold it for £1500 😢 always remember hitting 140mph with an astra diesel police car trying to catch me haha good old days
Still got the promotional video for the Sierra Sapphire Cosworth which was presented by the legendary Jackie Stewart. I was lucky enough to have owned a 500 up version which unfortunately caught fire.
It was something very special and rare should of been kept stock. now its just another chipped cosworth. should of bought yourself a 2nd cosworth to tune and kept this car as it should be.
Reliant Robins were built in Tamworth, when production stopped Reliant made all the body panels for the RS200, Collins Performance Engineering in Congleton built one over 600hp, it was mental.
The two main problems with cosworth’s cracked dash and sagging headliners, dash is good, headliner not bad but still sagging a bit, but everything else is spot on. That’s a very rare beast too, love the style of the front seats.
Why is it that a 30+ year old car can make a 51 year old bloke (me) go all wobbly at the knees 🤷🏽♂️can’t beat old Skool fords but unfortunately you need somewhere like Fort Knox to buy and keep one .top video again pal 👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Used to have fun trying to keep up with these in my old R5 GT Turbo. Always got beat but the sound of roaring 4inch exhausts and dump valves will always stay with me. I was sensible and only ran 14psi but that saw me at 150 odd bhp and 180ftlb. The car was under 800kg so was nippy to 80. Am stunned by current pricing, I'd have another in a heartbeat but £12k+ for anything worth having stings a bit. I bought mine for £600 and went halfs with a mate on a £450 one with a blown head gasket. If there is a car id kill for from that era - R5 GT Turbo Benneton edition (5 or so made by Renault dealer in Leeds) cant even find a picture of one now.
Very nice rouse cosworth wasn't there also a tuning firm called Brodie Britten Racing who also dabbled in cosworth Sierra's as well I wonder if there are any of their cars still around also ?
@@michaelkitchingman6023 BBR was, in part, Dave Brodie who also raced Cosworths back in the day, like Andy Rouse did. and as far as i can tell theyre still trading today, although run by what i presume to be his Son, James now..
I used to have a Pacifica Blue Escort Rs Cosworth, aka The Bullet eveyone used to call it, had it modied by A&J tuning in Enfield back in the day, really regret selling it now!
Sounds like you have quite a collection! I was in Portsmouth UK yesterday and was checking out an immaculate Mk1 Mexico (bubble arch version) absolutely mouth watering. I had a lime green version back in 1971 and wish I’d kept it but then got a crush on Capris and had five in succession. Happy days! 👍🇬🇧
hey guys im in ireland . lookin too get in touch with lee stephens . i have a low mileage 92 big turbo rs cosworth for sale . lookin 4 some advice from lee ie value etc . would like too give him a call ?
I can see your channel just taking off. Your a natural on camera bud . I owned a 4x4 Cos registration J666 COS , I swapped it for my Puma.. Puma was better tho :( 1.7 with a T 2.5 Garatt on it :) few other bits ;) Thanks for a nice vid
I love Fords, most underrated cars out there, when I see videos like this I’m glad I’ve kept mine for 24 years, these cars will never die as long as people like you are out there.
What a lovely Cossie! I miss seeing loads of these belting round Essex roads being driven like they stole it (cause a lot of the time they had haha!) I used to fish as a kid right by Fords Boreham test track and used to often hear these being thrashed round. Even saw a RS200 at a Ford garage in Witham (the reg was RS200 something and had been featured in the magazines back then) Fast Fords are in the people of Essex's blood!
Cossie, 205 GTI and a volvo 245, video made 👌🏻 You always knew when a cossie was at a cruise back in the day as you just looked for the massive clouds of tyre smoke and everyone getting rowdy at a burnout, ah those were the days 😁
@@MotorAddicts me too, I was driving round in a caged up Olympic Blue Mk1 RS2000 replica back then when everyone else was driving boring corsa c's. Never had any hassle from coppers at cruises as they all used to have them back in the day so they always waved me through when everyone else was getting stopped and checked 😂
30-40% quicker than a standard one over most in-gear acceleration measures, despite only a modest power increase. Probably the quickest car I'd ever driven until I bought an M140i. Loads of real world performance rather than headline BHP numbers.
@@googleuser2571 having driven some big hp cossies they are uruly beasts and not much fun unless you're hammering it. From what I hear the Rouse ones are wonderfully well set up with thr right balance of power and driveablity
What a Sunday morning video! That cameo of the 205gti was fantastic. I’m Canadian so I never get to see these locally, but I get all the nostalgia of visiting my grandparents outside Manchester as a kid.
That plate next to the gearstick was for a Mul-T-Lock gearstick padlock. It had a Black plastic covered metal body and Yellow plastic covered shackle. Now you know.
A Smile Every Mile every time i drove my flint grey RS Cosworth I owned 2 at one time I so wish i kept mine now and look after it as today there is no way i could buy one of these again for under 3 grand
The funny thing about people saying "oh why do you drive a 30 year old car" etc is that there were people 30 years ago with brand new sierras looking at guys with 50s and 60s jags/triumphs/whatevers saying "oh why do you drive a 30 year old car" - nothing ever really changes.
And you thought the Ford Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth 4x4 had a long name.... Remember when these came out in Rouse Sport spec and Fast Lane and Autocar magazines reviewed them... awesome
@@MotorAddicts When I was a kid I went out in a 'chipped' Sapphire cosworth and was blown away by the turbo shove. Nowadays we have 600bhp Golf R's and civic type r' s that blitz the Nurburgring....
Always loved a Sierra Cossie RS Awesome motors The closest I ever got was an XR3I The insurance on one of those was bad enough Because little toe rags like me kept nicking them 👍😂
Right I have to apologise.. I used to do banger racing and got given 2.0 saph for scrap well told it was but no engine or box. ... thing is you get the xr and the rs kits. But Ford done like an inbetween kit on the escorts and fiestas...that are skirts and then about 6 inches up the wing and arch. That's what this rouse kit is like. So when I got this car years ago it looked a cheep kit so sold the whole car on for 200 quid
Dammn one of my favourite dream garage cars I would save and buy one but could never afford the insurance uk sucks for car insurance costs on nice fast fords
Great video thanks. Never been the biggest Cosworth fan, although I respect them as being very good cars with a great motorsport connection. I was always more into Japanese & German cars, but owned over a dozen Mk1 & Mk2 Escorts which were 'THE' Ford for drivers IMO. Cosworths were for rich wide-boy's from "daaaaan saaaaf" lol.
Cracking video. Superb when big Lee gives it some boost and the chatter off the waste gate gets them smiling 🙂 Love the video content keep them coming guys 🙌
