The first 4 seconds is Too Funny. Like - don't do it, Anton - and then he proceeds to blow away his doubters. This guy is a Giant among men and his band wrote some of the greatest REAL shit that's ever been written.
My divorce started during this performance. Things were happening (that I'm not posting here) and my then partner looked at me and I knew the feelings had changed. Hell of a soundtrack to that.
BJM have been the official band of my spiritual journey starting with getting away from loss of loved ones and alcohol to becoming a Buddhist Monk. In between, a 30 minutes beer with Anton before a gig, and deep discussions with him after, while watching him signing autographs.
@@diogofolques3075 What the fuck is that comment, right? Holy shit. I just wasn't expecting it...!! And I'm pretty sure it's true... ugh. My I'm just emotionally sensitive right now, but goddamn... okay I'll unpause the video now
@@MrLilac Nicely worded quesiton. No order (because mood plays a role for me) Ride- Vapor Trail, Leave them all behind. Pale Saints - Fine Friend, Dandy Warhols- Nothing (Lifestyle of a Tortured Artist for Sale), Lush- Desire lines, Stone Roses- This is the one, Beta Band- Dry the rain, Smashing Pumpkins- Soma, Pink Floyd-Comfortably Numb... Yikes. 10 is a small number.
Wish I was there. One of the coolest tunes ever. Took a few listens until I heard the BUGGAGUGGAGUGGAGUGGA at the end of the song and it shook my brain. It literally dropped my endorphins and sent chills flying all through my system. I love when music does that. This live rendition does justice. BJM aren't afraid to play at slow tempo at live shows. It's a sign of some kind of musicianship or confidence. Can't say what it is. It's awesome to see.
Rishi Dhir is the magical element in this recipe...What a musician! I see him (Elephant stone...) 2 times in the last month (Quebec city and Sherbrooke) and it was simply...ASTOUNDING!!! Look , for exemple, their 45 minutes live video, on yotube, and judge by yourself... Incredebly talented band!!!
love practicing my scales with you guys capo 4th A# Gflt? F pentatonic so fucking fun but dont drown the sitar. awesome as always Anton thanx 4 sharing much love
and on the "documentary" dig, they were speculating that the band, with that current line-up, would NEVER play together again. NOW Rob, Matt, and Joel I see onstage, nevermind Ricky was on the FIRST FUCKING ALBUM!!!!! ON BASS!!
i cut 2 fingers off my friends hand listening to this song 2 years ago.We both gave up smoking the day after. We started again the next day before i took him to hospital. We didnt own a car so we had to hitchike ...........
Joel Gion? He's the frontman, the "Spokesman for the Revolution." Anton always stands off to the left. Matt Hollywood usually plays bass or guitar, but he's banging on a bongo for this one. =)
Sonic Boom (Pete Kember) wrote a song called Why Couldn't I See, for the legendary Spacemen 3's last album, in which he says "This chord is for you." The song we're listening to is called "Super-Sonic." You can put together the rest. Also, if memory serves correct, Sonic Boom/Spectrum performed at this same festival this same year (Austin Psych Fest, now called "Levitation). BJM rarely perform this song live, so it's pretty special.
I'm getting flavours of George Harrison, John Lennon, Ravi Shankar, Lake Dahl in Kashmir, the British Empire in India, Shambhala, Hinduism, LOVE! and all sorts of stuff .. proper music
Stephen Dorn yeah 100% John Lennon sounds like Kevin Parker. Jesus christ and you walk around..without restrictions? Public safety is ok with a guy who makes comparisons between kevin parker and John Lennon? Jesus, good luck
