What makes this scene so moving and haunting is Superman's least discussed, least envied, but perhaps most vital, other-worldly super power: his utter goodness, to show compassion even to his enemies and to dignify their humanity, even though they've betrayed and squandered nearly every shred of it.
Yup, one of my favorite scenes in the series. I also liked the effects of the sound washing over Superman, and him gliding in gently rather than superspeeding.
Peia isn’t a saint, but underneath that murderous exterior is a woman who is suffering from cancer and tried to beat it. In their attempts, the Mannheim’s went too far and nearly destroyed an entire city. I can’t help but feel sorry for Peia. She just wanted to be with her family healthy and cancer free.
thats a good question but i believe that peia got sick naturally . manheim cures only made her worst because of the simple fact her powers kept slipping for a reason but being pushed to a certain point led to too much of the cancer atoms and her power genes to mix alike .
There IS no more Arrowverse anymore, Unlike THIS show, all their shows got canceled. So this show being part of the Arrowverse or not is no longer a cause for concern 😂 Thank GOD it isn’t!😂
I think this one is a lesson. Even Superman can't safe everyone. Its also a good lesson for Jordan, now he is training to become Superboy. He needs to learn accept this.
@@vietnameeseguy No, the lesson is that sometimes even with all those powers and abilities, perhaps possibly being one of the strongest beings in the universe, there are things that even Superman cannot do. There are people Superman cannot save. There are situations Superman can't prevent or foresee. Despite having Godlike abilities, Superman is no God. He is just a guy from Kansas trying to do the right thing simply because it's the right thing to do. Saving a bus full of schoolchildren or saving a man from a tornado are things Superman can do, but he can't save people from terminal diseases, strokes, heart attacks etc. This is one of those situations. He might not have been able to save her, but Superman did what he could to help and give Peia some comfort and reassurance in her final moments because sometimes that's all you can do.
@@shine_tradingcurrencies392 Damn, this is one of the most emotionally charged storylines in live action comic book media in years, I had no idea people weren’t into it
