Finally a show where Supes isn't just completely rolling on the floor debilitated as soon as he side eyes kryptonite. Yeah, it hurts him. It's his primary vulnerability. But you gotta hit him with it right for it to work.

True. In Smallville, Clark was still very young and not at his peak potential, so Kryptonite would have laid him out more back then, but this Superman is seasoned and has been at this for awhile... he has probably encountered Kryptonite attacks and has developed enough fortitude to not let it cripple him so much

While I'm sure Supes wasn't too happy that he got shot with Kryptonite, I do like that Superman rage was all focused on the fact that Sam would give the go-ahead to use live rounds fitted with Kryptonite to subdue a minor who's scared. It wasn't that he was physically hurt, but he was hurt by the betrayal of his Father in Law and also disappointed in his actions. Superman has a strong belief in the best side of us, and he knows Sam is better than this. But what makes his anger so scary is the fact that we have seen this Superman laugh, cry, being stern and serious, being humble and friendly and kind. But this is the first time we have seen him angry like this. I believe the saying goes: "There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man"

It's also worth noting that this is same iteration of Superman who was equally pissed in Supergirl's show when Martian Manhunter wanted the DEO to keep a stockpile of Kryptonite as a failsafe.

I am sure it's a combination of all those things... not fun to get shot with Kryptonite for him... that they would even HAVE Kryptonite bullets at all, let alone using them to shoot at the kid... and Superman happened to get in the way... why would they think Kryptonite would affect these other Metas who are not Kryptonian

Most probably because superman has aged a bit here. What age are his sons? 15? He has been on this earth for probably for 40 years. In kingdom come luthor mentioned that kryptonite has no effect on superman since he has been around for so long. Over time superman develops immunity to kryponite. That’s probably it. Give him another 15 or 20 years he’ll probably have the same immunity as kingdom come superman.

Tyler does the perfect portrayal of Superman. Always calm and level headed in almost every situation but as the scene depicted he also can't tolerate certain things. I liked the way in which they are taking the show. An alternate universe where Sups is the villain and Luther the hero. I think both of them have powers but lets see. There is also a guy for lois to report and bring to Justice. We get to see Lois's kickass reporting talents

Mild mannered doesn't mean wimpy or nerdy. Just calm, level-headed and not often having outbursts. Also it shows he is heroic because he doesn't get angry but chooses not to act on his emotions. It can be a challenge but he still makes the active choice to not do it.

I think the reason this scene stands out so much is cause this the first time we’ve seen Superman rage on screen in awhile and not even just that but the pure mystery in terms of us not knowing how he’s goin to react because we’re not used to seeing such a hopeful character get mad just makes this scene memorable

They literally adapted the comic scene by scene. So Omni man is not that nerfed. They did it in 8 episodes. Superman is still not even 20% of its comic counterparts. Do you have any idea how powerful is he in comics?

While superman isn’t my all time favourite character (still like him though), this version really captures the true essence of superman’s ability of control. He ripped that kryptonite out and annihilated it, then proceeded to keep those kids safe.

They can still get injured easily, especially if they have the same power set. Like in Man of Steel, those other kryptonians were kicking the shit out of Kal El

Those were 4 sharp, kryptonite shards impaled on his chest and still he was able to stand up and used his powers. Gotta love this version of Superman 😍 He's definitely developed more resistance because he's more seasoned, unlike BvS Superman, who easily crumpled at the light of a kryptonite 5ft away.

vow after such a long long time, what a series, it's just like a movie in a series version. this is the best series iv had ever seen, I hope this series goes on forever. This series is very realistic loved it. And I hope Jonathan gets his powers as well, I cant wait to see father and sons flying together, just like in the comics.

Correct... the detail is he sped up into that guy's face quickly, but he didn't actually lay a hand on him like to lift him up by the lapels in a threatening manner.
