Your modeling skills are very impressive! I just got back into modeling again and watching your videos has taught me much. Thank you for taking the time to share your techniques!
You are so good I have never seen someone else who is more dedicated to his models I mean you add detail in some of your models like ribbing the interior of planes that won't be seen in the completed model! You truly are my idol when it comes to modelling
Brilliant job. I'm mostly into car modelling but your videos made me want to try some military aircrafts. My 2 pennies: the instrument board would be a lot cleaner if you applied a clear plastic sheet from behind instead of varnish. Anyway, your work is deeply inspirational and I never got bored like I did with other similar videos. Keep it up!
+Sakis Politis very agreeable post - "Anyway, your work is deeply inspirational and I never got bored like I did with other similar videos. Keep it up!"
6 (at this point) idiots gave this a thumbs down! Why the hell would they do this?? If they find modelling builds not interesting don't watch but if you do, there is simply none better at this than Plasmo. He is very humble but he is a great artisan, not an artist (which requires original creativity) but as an artisan (skilled builder and painter) he is quite simply the best. At 55 (soon 56) I used to have delusions of grandeur (ok illusions of talent) because I made some nice looking models but I am like a babe in the woods and far too lazy to ever compete with this perfectionism. LOVE watching your video's. There is a place for all of us doing creative play and making nice things and then we have genius as rare as Plasmo's, who puts us all in our amateur place. Your talent level requires global recognition and support!.
Brilliant video thanks for sharing ! When you apply the gloss varnish on the back of the instrument panel to replicate the glass did you stick the decal with the sheet right after you put it or let it dry and then put the decal with the instruments ? And did you put the decal on with the decal sheet ? And what kind of brushes you use ? Thanks
Incredible work and detail in the cockpit! What type of paint did you use for the cockpit seat? and what type of wire did you use? As the the result is very authentic 😊
Beautiful job! Martin, please, tell me, where did u buy that master models's 'gloss clear lacquer finish' ? Because this is the great thing and I want to have it :)
***** Thanks Martin,I will get one of those.I normally use a 000 Humbrol brush or a 0.I am just detailing the Airfix Sea Vixen cockpit at the moment.Lots of detailed parts to paint on that kit.As a rule I normally do ww2 aircraft but I am mixing it up at the moment.
Great video mate! I've just taken up the hobby and after watching this video I feel like taking somethign else up instead now!! AMAZING SKILLS! I'm just happy not gluing the model to my face by accident ... Do you line all your seems with putty and then sand back? Or did this model need it specifically due to quality of the kit?
Divam nato skoro furt líbý se mi to . Martine a neskusil bys napriklad nejakého Fockewulfa od eduardu? Jinak parádne to vypadá... Preju moc takových kousku...
Hi David you always know how to pick the right soundtrack for your model builds can tell me if the track in order or mixed what is the name of the track with choir singing
+CrazyDan You can pick up most Tamiya 'tools' really cheap via Hobby King's international warehouse. www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__1200__157__Tools-Tamiya_Craft_Tools.html
Could you tell me whith Tamiya (or diffrent types if you uss) paints you use forn painting all model because I want to buy it and I dont know with I must use. And well dane
Your skills are remarkable...however you have done what all spitfire builders do !!! The area behind the seat & armour should be flat aluminium & not cockpit green this silver area is visible through the plexiglass... all spitfires are aluminium behind the seat .... nice work tho
At 3:30 - outlining the blind flying "6 pack" instrument bezels with a lighter color. Those bezels are incorrect detail and should be sanded off. Those 6 instruments are flush mounted from the back of the panel in real life and the bezels don't show. Just flat black across that panel would be appropriate.
Wow, awesome work within the cockpit, mate! What type of fine detail brush were you using to paint the dials and knobs, I gotta get me some of those! Cheers, Martin : )
Would you recommend this kit to a beginner who's about to start his 4th model? which if yes this will be my 6th build which i'm way more experienced by then. Check my channel out see where exact where my skill level is! You're a great modeler honestly. Superb cracking work :)
***** XD ok thanks! Meh i'm fine with cockpit. Should i get the photo itch parts for it? How much it cost you? it cost 30 dollars here. Also. What did you use to mask the plane for the camoflouge? Would hand paint work for this? Would free hand paint do a fine job?
Jefferson Sheng Ive got this kit. If youre a beginner. Keep learning the basic kits. This kit is highly complex and not easy to make look this good. Itll knock your confidence
Hey David love to watch this build especially the back ground music but mostly would like to know if the profipack version of this kit would have the same detailed instrument panel like this one does
Ronald Labiche, Yes, the Eduard profipack kits include pre-painted photo etched instrument panels (among other things) that are of very high detail and quality, and can also be purchased separately from Eduard. Although as we see in this video, David's extraordinary skills suggest that these painted photo etched parts aren't really necessary. Amazing! I will try David's technique on my next build, but I have a feeling that the photo etched parts from Eduard will remain my best friends for these situations.
+diamondbackVF102 Hi perhaps early propellers? not sure you are correct here-certainly the early Hurricane had wooden-the BBMF won't fly in the rain because of that. Spitfire almost certainly metal in Squadron service.
+Ron Bishop 3 blades propeller was made from metal and 4 blades from wood. Yes VF102, I have it wrong on my model . 3 blades propeller crash landing www.oocities.org/grizzleh/Spit_I_14_crash.jpg and 4 blades propeller crash landing mchpro.republika.pl/308Sqn/The%20War%20into%20Europe_pliki/spitfire.jpg
yes you are correct-the photo gives it away. Dowty Rotol made both metal and wooden blades, De Havilland made propellers as well. Not sure why they would have chosen wood-perhaps short of "strategic materials" ? Always interesting to learn new things-the Spitfire was a complicated design and now very hard to restore apparently for that reason. Thanks again
