Many custody cases get ordered to Supervised Visitation. If this has happened to you, don't freak out! This video offers some tips on selecting a provider (or monitor). I know it feels bad to have someone watch you with your children, but there are positives to this, as well.
I have been doing supervised visitation (and, in another state- not California- therapeutic visitation) for many years. I have seen a lot of parents improve their relationship with their children and go on to unsupervised and even 50/50 shared custody after being in supervised visitation. Hang in there!
If you are a compassionate, respectful person who would like to help families during a difficult time, check out the Online Monitor / Provider Training at www.supervisedvisitationtrain...
This video is not to be considered legal advice. You may want to hire an attorney, if you have not already done so. This video is not therapy. If you need a therapist, please find one in your area.

I am a Father of two children and my children and I are documented victims domestic violence with U.S. Immigration and won my case convincingly and overwhelmingly under the Violence against Women Act, which includes men, which granted me a green card. My ex and mother of my children is the perpetrator. She still works as a pediatric nurse (30+years) working for a major childrens hospital in Philly. When I exposed the abuse and brought her to court I was denied my constitutional right to have an attorney represent us in court in a Protection From Abuse Order (PFA) and in all follow up court hearings and custody hearings. I was denied my right to appeal the PFA decision. When I petitioned the judge to have her supervised with the children, the judge ordered me to be supervised instead and charged me $800 dollars per visit. The supervising company had no background checks on any of their supervisors. The first day of supervision I was physically assaulted by the supervisor in front of my children. My son was in shock and my daughter was going histerical witnessing this assault on me. I was eventually able to call 911 but the police refused to take my report and tried to provoke me. The second supervisor tried to provoke me also in front of my children. I can't afford $800 to see my children therefore I haven't seen them in over ten years with zero contact and the judge refuses to do anything about it. Another day my life and my children's lives were threatened at gun point by local police and I was told to stay away from my children. I was also supervised by a known pedophile on a number of occasions. (The timeline sequence of of this comment is backwards but I'm not correcting it at this point or explaining the hows or why of everything, it'll take to long). So THANK YOU AMERICANS for the warm welcome to your wonderful country and for the destruction of my family, my life, my children's lives, PTSD and on going health problems that results. And the parental alienation.

What happens when custodial parent made visitation extremely difficult for 2 months, then files for allocation of parental rights, and insisted on supervised visitation ... Granted. But has not cooperated with family evaluations to setup visitation for almost 5 months?
@healplaylove
@healplaylove 4 года назад
Pardon my delay. Usually when this happens, the visiting parent will need to file a request for contempt. Visitation orders are court orders and defying those orders can have consequences.

I have a 4 year old son that has been alienated from his mom, dad, and brother for the last 3 years. We paid to register with a court supervising agency and we gave the visiting agency the legal guardians phone number so they could set up visits after the probate judge granted us visits. However, the legal guardian was not cooropertive with the license visiting agency either, and when the director of the license supervised agency called my son's sister, who is his legal guardian, to set up visits, the legal guardian was very rude and nonchalant and did not make any effort to call back or make child available. So, the director of the supervised visiting agency, said she was going to type a report of her negative vibes and experience with the legal guardian, in regards to my probate court case with my son in trying to enforce the parents visits. The director said she was going to send the report straight to the probate courts , so it would be in a court file.

That was the best thing she could do. Now you have documentation from a neutral third party. The visit monitors can't enforce court orders; they can only document who did (or did not do) what. Keep pressing for your visits. The truth eventually comes out. I wish you the best and admire the work you are doing to make sure you stay in your child's life.

Hey! It's me, Melinda. Thanks for watching! I'm the Director and Clinical Supervisor at Family & Children's Counseling Services, Inc. in Northern California (lic no 102308). We have an awesome National training program for individuals to earn a Certificate as a Professional Supervised Visitation Provider. The training covers Standard 5.20 for Californians. And, since CA guidelines are reflective of the proposed National Standards, this training satisfies most states' and counties' guidelines for Providers. All online! Some states have pre-qualifications (age of 21 or older, no criminal background, etc.) so check out your local laws before you enroll. Questions? Use our contact form from the site. www.supervisedvisitationtraining.com/

If a parent has been absent from a child’s life for one year do u think that would be good cause for supervised visitation?
@healplaylove
@healplaylove 3 года назад
I've seen SV ordered due to reintroduction / reunification. It depends on what the parent-child relationship was like when the separation happened, the mental status of the parent, the emotional wellbeing of the child, etc. Best to you!!

What about if a false accusation was made that led up to the supervised access
@healplaylove
@healplaylove Месяц назад
Unfortunately, false accusations do happen. The judge has to err on the side of caution and get an investigation going for the protection of the child. Eventually, accusations will either be found to be accurate or unfounded. Think of it in the opposite, a judge (or other professional) hears an accusation and says "eh, sounds untrue" and disregards it. Then later the worst case scenario happens. I hope you were not the one who had a false accusation against you, but if you were please hold your head high and remember the truth eventually comes out.

Ok so what if the parent that has supervised visits has mom doing the supervision and they are both refusing to give copy of the supervisors work schedule to ensure the father will not lie and have visits unsupervised?
@healplaylove
@healplaylove Месяц назад
Everything should be documented, including the schedule. If someone is refusing to cooperate, that needs to be taken back to Court. Failure to produce the children for a visit could cause that parent / guardian to be held in contempt of Court.

My son’s mom is trying to settle for supervise visits after physically and mentally abusing him and sexual violence with her boyfriend’s kid. My son is scared of her and angered by her. If he refuses to interact or just spend his whole time trying to hide from her would the supervisor force them to interact or make him keep going if it’s not good for him?
@healplaylove
@healplaylove Месяц назад
The supervisor should stop the visit if the child is in distress. However it is not immediate. The supervisor would want to see if the parent had parenting skills and could comfort or redirect the child. If not, the visit would be stopped and reasons documented.

What’s the least amount of months a parent can be supervised before asking judge not to be supervised
@healplaylove
@healplaylove Месяц назад
It varies widely based on the reasons for the supervision in the first place, the amount of compliance, the success of the visits, and any reports from any other professionals (therapists, mediators, child counsel, mediators, custody evaluators, etc.)... and the attorneys of course. The least I've seen is about a month.

@healplaylove
@healplaylove Месяц назад
I think the two best ways of finding a therapist from scratch are psychologytoday.com and google searching "therapist" with other key words and location. Ask everyone you speak with if they have a referral for you if they do not take you on as a client. Therapists often know other therapists and refer people to their colleagues when they do not have experience with a specific issue or treatment modality.

How often does a visit last and how often do they occur?
@healplaylove
@healplaylove 5 лет назад
The Court determines this. It's often two hours per week, but can be one hour per month or six hours per week, depending on the case. The Monitor does not make this decision. The Monitor has to follow the Court Order. Thank you for watching and for your question!

He also was allowing him to be there when i would and he is my abuser so that led to the father watching across the street at the park to him contacting me to agreeing to figure it out outside of court loured Me in So i had my son didnt do what he said so he called the police i was destroyed i filed a emergency rfo of my concerns this is an abuse of power and an attempt to control and torment me using my son how do i prove this without appearing slandering and a problum
