Freddy shows you how to install rear subframe bushings in your MK3 Supra from StrongFlex. The rear subframe bushings installed in this video are the StrongFlex Road/Red bushings which are their softer bushings designed for a street car.

Great video! I did this to my 2002 is300 rear subframe last year and now it feels great with polyurethane subframe bushings

In the video you mentioned that you would put instructions for removing the parking brake cables. I can’t seem to find it. Thanks

Great video. I've just bought a Supra MK3 for drifting and I'm going to need to remove the camber screws from the rear sub frame. Can you help me how to remove them?
@zazzn

I was able to hit it with some penetrating lube then just hit the head of the bushing and the whole thing came out intact! just FYI for others.

Getting a rattle on the rear of my MK3...was suspecting shocks, but I wonder if my bushings are done.

Start with shocks, cheaper and waytt easier

Thanks for the video. How long did it take you to do the rear subframe if you didn't do the welding and also, I was wondering if your car has less squeaks and rattles in it now? I have the energy suspension bushings for my 91 supra. I've had them for a couple years and have been too scared to tackle this by myself. Was it worth all the trouble? Thanks,Jay
@PoorManMods

I have not taken the car out on a good drive yet but id day i had less than 6 hourd invested into the entire job, no including the reinforcement. Id say its well worth it though with how old and worn out our bushings are at this point

At the 3min mark you disconnected the prop shaft from the diff flange. I tried that but mine is stuck to the diff flange. Did you remove the center bearing too but didnt show that on camera ?
@PoorManMods

I have a 1 piece driveshaft without a center bearing

So is it recommended to lube the outside of the bushing too (16:00)? A German RU-vidr who also partners with strongflex mentioned that the bushings shouldnt be lubed up on the outside, only on the inside hole where the metal pin slides in.
@PoorManMods
@PoorManMods 4 года назад
I cant imagine they would provide 10 packets of grease just to lube 6 sleeves
@TheRealWashie
@TheRealWashie 4 года назад
You aren't meant to lube the outside of the bush itself. I asked an engineer at Nolathane about this and he said the only part you want to move when its installed is the sleeve, so that should be the only part that needs any lube. The bushes themselves should never move once installed and would have gone in easy either way. Most companies don't usually include 10 packets of grease, just enough to do the job.
@TheRealWashie
@TheRealWashie 4 года назад
That said it probably makes no difference either, I've lubed the outside before and never had a problem.
@gahbah274
@gahbah274 9 месяцев назад
Do you have an opinion on these vs. the Superpro bushings? I see that they have metal sleeves and look to have a smaller cushion on one side. Probably harder too? I'm not looking to have a lot of diff noise.
@PoorManMods

@@gahbah274 you're welcome. I have the red bushing on my supra and the yellow bushing in my is300. I don't notice any more notice on the is300 than I do in the supra, granted the is300 is a full interior and the supra is gutted. But no complaints with either set
@supraslug3948

So how does the car feel now and much harsher do you think the ride would have been with the stiffer bushings?
@cubespeedequipment870
@cubespeedequipment870 4 года назад
The red bushes Freddy used are Shore 70 which is much the same stiffness as the factory rubber bushes (when they where new)
@supraslug3948
@supraslug3948 4 года назад
@@cubespeedequipment870 do u know if the stiffer bushings make a difference as far as ride comfort like is it really noticeable?
@cubespeedequipment870
@cubespeedequipment870 4 года назад
@@supraslug3948 Personally I have done all the fronts in my Mk3. I didn't notice any difference in ride quality at all from the stock bushes. I did notice better "road feel" and stability though. Car has a better feeling of connection with the road. I also have full poly in my FRS. but changed to coilovers etc at the same time, again better road feel and stability but no change to ride quality. Freddy might add a comment as well with his thoughts on ride quality.
@cubespeedequipment870
@cubespeedequipment870 4 года назад
@@supraslug3948 Hi, I have done the front subframe and front bushes in my Mk3 Supra project car. Stability is much improved. Ride quality is that same as stock. There is probably, slightly more road "feel" than stock, not as "numb" as the stock rubber bushes.
