I surprised my teenage son by cleaning his room and buying him a new bed. He has been sharing a room with his younger brother and we thought it was time for him to have his own room.
You're a GREAT MOTHER. Once I heard you say you're not a believer in once they turn 18 they need to move. The biggest issue we have in this country is no tight knit family. I love my children to death. When they're ready to leave the nest that's when they're ready. They work full time, pay their car payments, insurance and are putting money aside for when they're ready to move. What more could anyone ask for?
You & your Mom did a great job! Our 4 kids are grown, 3 boys & a girl, our girl was tidy but the boys not so much. I relate to you about the boys' rooms, I stopped fussing at them & their rooms, keeping their doors shut, life was better for us all LOL I can say now that they are tidy (probably to impress the ladies LOL)
Love it and my son/baby is 21 and still lives with his momma. He is building his credit and saving up for a car. Career wise. Undecided. But as long as he is working he's fine. He graduated in 2020 covid year. So he definitely didn't get to experience college the same. Well even graduating 🎓. But hey we just got to be there for our kids.
now this is amazing parenting at its finest. remember your mom will always be your number one best friend. im in my thirtys and as time goes on i only grow closer to my mom no matter how far i live, my mom will always be my number 1 best from i love you momma. much love and repsect to you and your family.
I also don't think kids should automatically leave the nest. The can stay for as long as they need or want, all circumstances considered. Pay rent or free, whatever is decided.
Love this video! Unsure of you thought about it, I think you should look into being a foster parent because many homes kick youth out when they turn 18. Other than that, I hope your son learned from his surprise that cleaning up and wiping things down is important. He is so lucky to have a mom like you
I would have died if I came home and noticed that my mother had turned my whole room and all my possessions upside down to give my room a makeover. There are just things you want to keep for yourself. @_@;

I completely understand your point, but being a teen mom myself I know that is unrealistic and I’d rather he be safe not just so he won’t be a father but also for diseases.
