I think my bike is doing the same thing. I was curious if the cluster went out as well because my cluster is out and I can’t use turn signals, high beams or anything. The horn works though
Does it start up? Cause mine had shut down completely when the rectifier went….The rectifier and stator is electrical… check all the fuses and make sure they not blown
Rode my k6 last night, as I was pulling into my driveway all the lights on tach flash and bike shuts off and smell a odor of burning plastic. Hope it’s a burnt wire of some sort nothing crazy. Gonna check it today. SMH
Damn homie!!! Did you check the fuses??? I would check the fuses 1st. And if any are blown. If so, change them out. Ya never know with these bikes. Sometimes a wire could just touch the wrong spot and short everything…. Also where’s your rectifier located?? Is it still near the radiator?
It's crazy that your rectifier is burnt out causing a short, a positive wire is touching metal some where man, use a meter and ohms the wires to the rectifier that will tell all, hope you find it!
I don’t think it’s the same problem… because she still runs and didn’t just shut down like before…. The problem now is that the battery voltage gets low… so I keep it on the charger every night… I personally think it’s a bad cell in the battery.
You probably need a new stator and rectifier.... Locate your rectifier that's on the front of the bike if it's in its factory location you want to move that as well too so it can get better air and stay cool... And also follow the lines on your rectifier and make sure they have not melted anywhere it could just be one of those issues..
@@ICExxD yea bro!!! It all worked out. The crazy thing is, I never got any warning or anything… no flicking lights, slow start ups anything…. Just riding and then boom dead… But yea I got everything back goin and she’s running great now
@@Rickyclark it was the stator and rectifier bike cut out at the light just went dead then rectifier just set on fire then a few months later the con rod shot through the bottom end due to to much oil big ass gaping black hole lucky i never died both times now some unlucky person own her
Who knows, that could have caused it also… but the rectifier was burnt… so I got a new one relocated it and also changed the stator…. And so far so good.. hasn’t been any issues… but you could be right…
Nope… when this happened, there wasn’t any code that came on. What happened was the main fuse blew… the rectifier was bad… so I changed the rectifier, stator, fuses and also got a new battery. But there wasn’t any codes or warnings
@@johnayeee640 the steering dampener ??? Really? The issue with mine was the rectifier. The 2007 gsxr 600 has the rectifier if a bad location. And it gets too hot and burns out…. I had to relocate it and I also changed the stator…. Who is telling you it’s the dampener?? And also did you check the dealer codes?
@@Rickyclark no yours was ststor and rectifier, my code is similar to tje guy commented. It was 5d or c93 code, some said it could cause steering dampener code to go off when voltage is low
Could be bro… the rectifier on these Suzuki’s has been going bad…. I replaced the stator and rectifier because they say if one goes the other is about to go also… but I replaced my battery also when I did this repair…. And now my battery is still losing voltage… so is your bike doing ???
@@Rickyclark I'm on my fourth battery now so I'm going to look at getting those replaced. Something is draining my battery I replaced my fuses when the relay fuse went out I was good for a day or so then it started losing power again... where'd you get the rectifier and stator from?
@@AveryGSX750 Rick’s Motorsports they online and ships quick too… and they have OEM parts too… but it could be one of those parts…. But when mine went, I couldn’t even get it to turn on… blown fuses , everything went dead.. and after changing the fuses, the minute I turn it on, the fuse would blow… But yea bro, I would change the stator and rectifier on your bike… that’ sounds like that could be the problem, since you changed everything else….
@@Rickyclark ok I check them out, yea I got it hike I charged my battery an it starts up fine now but I don't trust it to last so I'm not gonna ride it until o get that done.
@@AveryGSX750 yea I know the feeling… I just keep mine charged up every night… and I keep a portable jumper pack just in case the battery ever dies…. But good luck bro… ride safe
