Hello everyone and welcome back to the channel!
In this video I will be replacing the ugly old rear fender/aftermarket number plate bracket with a much neater solution.
As I explain in the video, this was a fortunate by-product of my need to buy a replacement front indicator for the front left of the bike to replace the one that had been damaged by the previous owner in the accident that the bike suffered.

i always liked the sv1000. i think its the perfect bike to get cheap and restore it as a project bike

Thank you your SV1000 series. I just bought a used 2003 SV1000s and although it’s in really good shape thanks to its previous owner, there are some things I want to do to the bike and I do want to do much of the servicing. Btw, I like the dark blue and dark grey metallic colors on the SV. Mine is silver too.

That moment of silence while attaching the number plate light on the bench early on, only broken by pigeon Cooing = missed opportunity to state the virtue of the j.i.s screwdriver, Kev😉. Tail tidy looks awesome btw!

Colour wise I absolutely love the burnt orange too but only out the fully faired version for some reason it doesn't look right to me with just the belly pan. If ever you look for another 9r and want a swap let me know

That tail tidy looks better with the dual exhaust and the bike as a whole is pretty nice 👍 . . Are you in England? From a SV rider in northern Colorado.

have you come up with something similar for the vfr? the greek licence plate(i'm guessing the uk one too) will not fit between the stock cans

I’d be interested in seeing this too. Not too sure if any can account for the oem pannier bracket though? That would be more important to me than aesthetics alone.

What year is the SV1000S, Kev?

This one is a 2003 model so differs slightly to literally every model year which I found out when I bought a new seat and it didn’t fit! It didn’t help being first registered in 2004 either! 🤦🏻‍♂️

I’m in Australia and have an 06. I was a little worried about the Regulator/Rectifier after watching the episode where you changed it. I regularly check the battery’s charge and my reg/rec seems to be working perfectly. Later year model make a difference?

No I don’t believe so, I’m just conscious that Suzuki R/Rs let go fairly regularly so fitting something known to be more reliable to the bike is more likely to prevent an annoying breakdown!
