Sweepy 2.0 - New and Improved Dust Boot

I really thought Sweepy was the answer to my dust boot problem. I bought one for a 80mm spindle on a 6040 router. The problem is it is so tall that I had to trim part of the mount and its still to tall for deep reliefs where I needed good dust collection. Oh well back to the drawing board, it's a nice product, and I hope it is the answer to others dust problem...

The first probkem that jumped out to me is the flat area below the hose. It creates turbulence and unneccecary dead air in the corners. 2:13 confirms that. You have almost total freedom of design, yet you make it flat and square

Is there a chance you can make it wide to accommodate cutting with a .5end mill? I find the bristles get sucked in and get clogged rendering to dust collection useless.

I think you could increase the suction minimizing the chanel volume

I have a Sweepy 2.0 on order. Really like the improvements. Is there an option to buy just the brush? I hear that if you set it up wrong you can have the spindle destroy the brush. That would never happen to me, but just asking for a friend!

Nice upgrade but what about the Nomad ??? Could use a nice Sweepy 883 for it. Are you forgetting the venturi effect ?? Air speeds up as it goes from a wider pipe to a narrower pipe. Would not high velocity air pick up both heavy and light chips more efficiently ? Remember Bernoulli !! Also make bristles shorter to avoid curling and interference with spindle and end mills. Really need bristles at all ??

So...when did they start shipping with the shapeoko? I bought the XXL on the Black Friday sale and I haven't even had a chance to put it together yet. I'm pretty sure that came with the V1 though.

Good Informative Video but I have a Dewalt DWP611 router. It has a button on the side of the spindle to lock down to tighten down the collet and bit. Will sweepy V2 still fit this router with that button on the side of the spindle?

HOw strong is the magnet that holds the bottom piece? I tried the Fox Alien and it fell off and got caught in the bit? Not good.

It's a very nice upgrade, but why don't you make a sweepy that mounts on the z mount so it stays at the same height instead of moving up and down with the router?
