How do you store them? And do you put one tray in the freezer and one in the fridge, and swap the one in the freezer to the fridge once the other is finished? Do you let them thaw out a bit or serve cold?
I pop them all in the freezer and transfer to a freezer bag once they’re frozen to maintain freshness. I’ll pull as many cubes as I need for a day in to the fridge overnight to thaw. Picky birds may like them microwaved for a few seconds until warm, while it will remove some of the nutritional value it’s still a good way to encourage picky birds to try new foods!

I have 14 parakeets. They love cucumbers, carrots, sweet potatoes,romaine lettuce, and they go bananas over celery tops (leaves). It's like a feeding frenzy when I hang the pieces of any of these in their cages. Likewise with brown rice cakes!

So true About broccoli , the first thing I gave my bird/birds to start getting them to eat vegetables was silverbeet and broccoli it's easy for them to chew and rip up so they are more likely to eat it. Now she eats almost everything . Including everything I eat even when it's half in my mouth and she tries to steal it. 😂

I got my bird to eat more vegetables by eating the veggies myself in front of her. I was doing a meal plan for bodybuilding which required me to eat sweet potatoes and vegetables, and my bird suddenly decided that she wanted whatever I was having and tried to steal my food, so I let her. 😂
I see you using bee pollen a lot and I've been wondering... can parrots (budgies specifically) have bee bread / perga and if so, would they benefit from it?

Hi, this looks great, Im gonna try this for sure! How many portions do you get out of this amount? Do you keep them in a freezer? Can you use these for the whole meal or do you also feed them some pellets together with the balls? Also, if you could do a video about parrot diet, that would be great! Im really new to this and Im not completely sure about what to feed my parrot, when and how much :)
How many portions depends on the size of the bird, I give my birds each one ball per day. I try not to make more than a month’s worth of balls just to keep everything fresh and rotating often. I freeze them all, put them in to a ziplock in the freezer and take one ball out to put in the fridge the night before so it’s properly thawed without accidentally cooking anything that would happen by using a microwave. They supplement the diet, pellets should always make up around 50% and the rest is fresh vegetables, some seeds and sprouts!
Toss some seeds in to the sweet potato mix to entice him some more, start with just the sweet potato then slowly add one puréed veggie at a time to gradually introduce him to the tastes! All birds start out very stubborn with new foods, if they aren’t shown at a very young age they assume everything could be toxic to them. Persistence and getting creative will be your best friends, just needs to keep trying!

That’s super awesome! I’m excited for you! Both fruits are good, I find that mine love pomegranate a bit more (although beware for the immense fruit juice splatter!)
The only reason I’ve heard for avoiding spinach is because of the oxalate in spinach. However it’s low enough that all it does is make any calcium content in the spinach unable to be absorbed by the body. As long as you have other forms of calcium in the diet outside of the spinach there’s no problem with it.
