pretty late to this party, but I'm curious: can vermouth be served at establishments that only have a wine and beer license? or does that vary by state? thanks in advance! great stuff!
+Jose Maestri Good question! I did a bit of research and it does look like it might vary by state. In California it looks like Vermouth is allowed under a type 41 license. (www.mercerrestaurantgroup.com/how-to-open-a-restaurant/2015/1/6/everything-you-ever-wanted-to-know-about-liquor-license)
Absolutely, it's actually the number one selling sweet vermouth in the world. This vermouth is produced by the same people that make Antica Formula and the legendary Fernet Branca :)
A Bar Above I just bought some Fernet Branca. My local package store is closing (sad) and I got some Fernet Branca and some Aperol for 25% off (yay)! I'm not fond of fernet but I have friends who are and I like to take care of folks when they come over.
I actually prefer Punt E Mes to Antica Formula, which I find has a too much of a cool herb or minty tooth paste flavor. I just tried the Vya for the first time and it seems to me to be way to cloyingly sweet. It's almost like a honey syrup.
