Swiss Champ is best SAK. All the tools you could need, and once you carry it, you can decide which tools you want, and get the model with just those (for a smaller package). 5 years of carrying mine for repairing medical equipment, house chores, gunsmithing, repairs, yard work, and all the other uses one finds for their third hand. 👍 I have a video on adding pocket clips to your SAK, if you'd like to give it a watch. 🍻
I keep a couple of hunters, tinkers and a farmer in tackle boxes and such but I prefer to edc a modified Leatherman Surge with bit kit, regular and ratcheting bit extensions along with a pair of Knipex Cobra XS pliers and either Olight i3T or Thrunight Archer Pro V2 and either the Cold Steel Recon1 or Code 4.
I’ve never used the fish scaler, the parcel hook or the little dolphin screwdriver. I think everything else I’ve used at one time or another. I use the scissors, blades, pliers, saw and file often. Thanks for watching.
I’m not sure. I’d like to try the SOG Power Pint. I really like their compound leverage. I’ve tried their larger MTs with compound leverage but those seem to open too wide to be comfortable for me but the power pint might be small enough that it’s not an issue.
@@SigogglinJack the powerpint pliers really are nice, but the rest of the tools are just weird. Especially the file is a huge disappointment, it's really blunt compared to a SAK or Leatherman.
@@SigogglinJackHaha i did exaggerate a bit there. Most of the other tools are quite nice, especially the very pointy flathead. What's unusual is mostly the straight edge blade, i suspect most people would have preferred a curved one. It also can't be opened and closed one-handed despite having outward facing tools, but where i live that actually is an advantage, as locking single hand folding blades are illegal to carry here. It's just really a shame that they dropped the ball on the file like that. It's not totally useless, it's just not anywhere close to what it could be as evidenced by other brands. Given that EDC at least to me kinda is about the joy of finding the perfect companion tool, having such a thing that's clearly imperfect bothers me quite a lot, probably a lot more than it really should from a practical point of view. Perhaps you can relate. ;-) If i could just mod my Powerpint to have a curved blade and a better file, perhaps a saw instead of the serrated second blade, then it'd be perfect.
As hard as I've tried, I can't come up with a single reason to own a Champ, much less carry one. I won't call it ridiculous, but I will call it pointless. I guess that the WOW factor is important to some people.
