This levels looks and sounds beutiful. Also very nice of you for the status update at the end. :3 I really believe this will become the greatest SM64 mod evaaaaar! It's groundbreaking and even then it has 15 courses just like the original game!
Holy shit! I always imagined a game to have a synthwave level. You did exactly that! It's similar to how you made Colossal Circuit in Last Impact, which I believe was the first having original music for a mod. Super Lucky Tales did this, but as special courses than a full blown level. It is amazing how it's possible to get 64 games to play like they would on consoles today including music. I was surprised to hear DuckTales Amazon theme in your game running on my Android and it played well. Riding the Ray Fish like in Galaxy makes me think of riding Plessie in Bowser's Fury. Which I wish had a SM64 model made for something like this and fit aside Yoshi, Dorrie and even Rex I've seen in another mode in your Mod Showcase. I would love to see even Birdo, Glydon and other Yoshi-related species get models for SM64. Keep it going Kaze! These rom hacks are on an incredible level of experience!
So glad to see a Synthwave world being added! With Synth- and Vaporwave being my favorite kind of style, this is absolutely amazing for me! Tolle arbeit Kaze!
Damn, it's incredible what you're able to come up with everytime... like I never got disappointed whenever I decided to watch one of your videos... Mad respect!! This just looks soo official too!!
Definitely going to play this on my HDMI-modded N64. Looking forward to it! Thanks for all the work you're putting into one of my favorite childhood games.
Wow the first Preview of Odyssey 2 looks really promising! wait.. Seriously this looks so amazing and the movement looks so smooth. At this point you really cant tell anymore that this is only a fanmade hack. Cant wait to experience it myself. Can you reveal something about the difficulty already? Is it going to be easier/harder than Last Impact?
Fun fact: If the N64 DD was released in an alternate timeline, we would have been able to play games up to 128 megabytes. The zip disks containing 64 megabytes, and DD itself also containing 64 megabytes of internal data, storage, and memory!
this is one of the best looking levels ever, can't wait to ride a frickin manta ray and find out whatever those whale guys from the intro do and try to enter the sandcastle and... UGH your romhacks are just so creative and fun looking to explore I can't wait to get my hands on this game
Yooo Super Mario 64 AND Synthwave?! My life is complete :D Will we also get a Mario-level where he is in a heavy metal related area (like Wacken, Metaldays, Hellfest, Graspop etc.)?
Cool that your keeping it to the native limit of the OG hardware. Really awesome to see just how far you can push it all. But also makes me a bit sad since we know just how cool your work could be with out the limitations I can only imagine what it would of been like if they went with a disk system back then.
Looking great. I always wondered if 64mb was a hardware limit. I had thought Resident Evil 2 could have really benefitted form more space. Have you thought about using a 64Drive or Everdrive64 to allow swapping of memory space to allow much larger games? It could potentially open up some interesting possibilities.
@@KazeN64 true. but if the n64 had a longer life span. larger roms would have been released. ive heard the n64 was capable of 256mb sized roms. the 64mb limit was because of the times. but then again im not sure the everdrive is capable of anything larger than 64mb. never the less ive always wanted to see a rom larger than 64mb for n64 lol.
i know nintendo doesnt like this hacking crap but i really hope if Shigeru Miyamoto sees this. it puts a smile on his face. im really looking forward to this!
I have a question, Kaze. Would it be possible for you to make the game work with the expansion pak and use it to either further improve framerate, add a hi-res mode, or add extra content?
It be cool if you can have the alternate mario chase you around. They have one of them in supermario 3d on Nintendo 3ds. Looks like mario morphs from black smoke blobs. I didn't play a lot of the yoshi island demo. Probably not in it though.
I am in near-disbelief you have gotten so far with your game! You're doing quite well! Yo have to forgive me for not contributing to this game. I do have some good news, however. I have ideas on how to improve my rig, so animating it will be easier than ever!
I recently played through Super Mario RPG for the first time and it was a blast. Are you going to do a pixelart section for that game as well? I'd love that. Perhaps you have it already done in one of the levels you finished.✌️
