Rekkles looks really good wearing the T1 uniform. It suits him. I am also really happy that T1, as a company, is very supportive and accommodating to whatever Rekky needs. Knowing what we know from his departure in the LEC, I'm glad he found a very strong and supportive unit rallying him for him even against the language and cultural barriers. #T1WIN
I'm 7 minutes into the interview and I just love Rekkles. He just seems like a genuinely good dude in every way and I'm absolutely not biased because I'm Swedish
Yup, fanboy since day 1 and i was so happy when he went to LFL bcs they appreciated him and now same for LCKCL or w/e it is. People were making fun of him bcs he was crying after tough losses etc.. I rather have a player that is truly invested in the game than a guy that just does not give a fuck like carrzy usw. It is so weird that people still do not understand how dependend the adc is on his team and that the KDA-Player might just be a weakside king that does not die to it but also logically does not have much KP bcs the game is 1v2 the first 15 mins..
Rekkles, Broxah and Kold are the reason I’m a fanatic fan. I was really disappointed when the org started picking that core apart and imo it’s only been downhill from that team. All three are genuine and respectful.
TBH I've never been a fan of him but this has kind of humanized him for me and seems like a really great guy. I always kind of pictured him as a prima donna but I think maybe that was just me being biased on things I had seen around League and Reddit.
@@TheRancor21 reading reddit and twitter is the stupidest thing to do , you never know anything about anyone if you don't know the guy in real life , people in league community are just drama toxic igniting subhumans.
@yassirelhidani6803 i could not have quoted it better . Even if someone underperform, it doesn't mean they're bad . There could have been something terrible happened to them irl but these kids only take things at face value
I miss FNC Rekkles but I’m glad he took a gamble on himself and went to T1 Academy, he’s doing things players don’t normally do and I think in the long run it’ll benefit him a lot. I’m also in Korea right now and it’s been an awesome experience for me, I hope he’s enjoyed it as well!
It will benefit him so well because he won't be able to keep up with younger ADCs.. he wants longevity and support is a good role for it.. this problem happened to Doublelift where eventually he couldn't keep up with younger ADCs.. he's still a good ADC, but not as good as the younger ones.. that's why even Sven swapped to support.. Sven is also a good ADC, but his ADC prime has passed.. so for longevity sake he swapped support and found success with it winning LCS as support..
Rekkles, you are a brave soul. Everything is going to be alright, you'll get stronger from here on. I believe this with all my heart and praying things will be looking up for you soon. Pedro sounds like an older brother Martin never had. Pedro supported Rekkles by vlogging and streaming about his games in LCK CL. You have a heart of gold Rat King. One of the few decent casters/analyst/streamer left in the league community. Rekkles, follow your heart and be happy.
I have been a fnatic fan for years but the org and players of today are entirely different from what they were before. You're always in for the players and not really the org itself (why would anyone be a G2 fan if all their roster, and especially mikyx/caps, left tomorrow?), and Rekkles was the constant for so many years. Over time we've come to know some incredible players and teams, my favourites being of course the 2015 and 2018 comps, but now, even Hylissang is gone. And by all means the current team is fun to watch! But it's just a different team entirely which just happens to wear the same orange and black logo. So i'm very happy for Rekkles that he took the gamble to T1. Pretty obviously the EU scene wasn't suiting him anymore and he needed something new and I'm so glad it looks like he's found just what he needed.
Rekkles just seems like such a kind hearted person in every interview I've ever seen him in. I hope all goes well in his pursuit to make it back to a Tier 1 league as a support. I think the lol ecosystem as a whole benefits from him being in it.
I agree with this. His image, his brand, his personality and all of the storylines concerning him are just perfect for the League scene. We saw it with T1 in CL, right? He brings eyeballs to the games. He's great for the scene in every sense.
Hey Rekkles, a hardcore Korean fan here. Just want to say that the LCK fans love you for playing in Korea. I hope you are feeling the love in every moment, and also hope that your career in LCK blooms and you become the one and only foreign legend in LCK!
I relate to him so much with the routine and morning stuff, literally so happy to hear him share because i was also recently diagnosed everyone else in my life was like "yeah we knew" 💀
its interesting because i always felt like rekkles had something slightly autistic about him. and i dont mean that in any funny or insulting way. love the guy!
This interview is incredible. I would love to see a followup with Rekkles after this split, and with other players too. The vibe of this long format chat, a little wine, mutual respect between the participants... really gives an insight that is not part of most sports and definitely not part of the mass league media machine. I was so engaged and this turned me into a way bigger fan of both Rekkles and Caedrel than I had been before.
Smash not only sacrifice his ADC position to play Engaged support so Rekkles can play ADC , he also trying real hard to communicate so Rekkles doesn't feel lonely or awkward. From the way Rekkles describe, Smash doesn't do this only to improve bot gameplay but he genuinely was just trying to befriend with ma man Rekkles. I don't know about any other bots but BOT LANE IN T1 History is sure one of the best friendship I have seen . From Bang Wolf , Guma Keria now Rekkles and Smash , T1 bot lane is always a good place to lean on thanks to their amazing chemistry
The way Rekkles talks about Smash and how the team uses the two of them makes me really excited for them like 2 years from now. I really hope Rekkles gets to play in the LCK proper. His reasoning for maybe not a bottom 5 team is super understandable, even if it makes the likelihood harder. But hey! Youre never replacing Keria, Lehends, Delight, or Beryl. KELLIN though? 100% possible, and there are very few LCK supports in the bottom 5 better than Kellin.
@@orendamusic7577 Gigastomp within the western region, sure yeah probably. That would be fun to watch for a few splits. How they actually play as a duo might shake things up too, which could be cool. I dont think the western environment is conducive to any kind of actual international success though. If the goal is any kind of success at all like Umti, or just to make it to MSI/Worlds at all, then sure
@@scifimisc9191 i bet a european team with caps mid, a strong EU jungler like jankos or elyoya, along with smash & rekkles + an import top could do well internationally. everyone would have to play to their peaks though.
I just got into league esports but I'll definitely be following Rekkles' career now. As someone diagnosed late with autism, it was incredible hearing my thoughts spoken aloud here. Finally understanding myself better and learning to communicate in a more productive way instead of changing myself... Wishing you the best, Rekkles
42:55 I really appreciate Rekkles sharing his experiences with autism diagnosis. As someone who was diagnosed last year with the exact same (level 1/high functioning autism), I like his perspective on the diagnosis and communicating his needs. Glad to see he is taking it well and thriving 👍
@@MrSenserus honestly you’re on the right track. The more awareness there is about autism, the more people will seek out diagnosis. This doesn’t mean people are faking autism, but that public awareness of autism and mental health topics in general has increased.
Very cozy interview between two friends vibe, really wholesome to watch Rekkles talk about his life, health and the future, really down to earth and very wise and Caedrel also really good at listening and answering!
thank you rekkles for the interview, and thank you caedrel for being you and making him comfortable enough to share such a big part of his life with everyone because he's next to you. also really nice to hear how accommodating t1 have been to him to the smallest of details, encouraging/reassuring and considerate about his condition. having a team respect him so much and willing to do anything to help him out (from making him minute punctual schedules to help out his anxiousness in 24 hours after he asked for it, to finding him coaches and teachers to help him with language and gameplay) is so nice to see because of how rough he's had it in the past with some organizations... and you can tell he's happy with where he's at and where he's going to be. rekkles at peace is so good to see. i'd love to see one of these talks again after the summer CL split. big love for you both❤
5 mins in and this is an excellent interview. Relaxed, personal, it gives a side of Rekkles we maybe wouldn't get usually. Big love to Martin and you Marc, well done and definitely do more of these!
Wow, that was a super interesting interview. Since he joined T1 Academy I''ve been hoping for his success since I thought it would be cool to finally foreigners succeed in Korea, but he genuinely seems like a down to earth and chill person. Best of luck Rekkles!
This interview really shows how chill Rekkles is, he really put himself out there and i am really looking forward where his journey will bring him, props to Caedrel to give us this side of him
Smash being helpful that much is amazing. Like trying while making mistakes and not giving up shows his dedication. I am very happy Martin has him by his side. All the best for Martin in his journey. I hope he gets all the joy and happiness from this journey.
Really good interview. As someone who struggles with ASD, you are really inspiring Rekkles. Thanks for being open about it, seeing people like you, gives me hope for my own future. Being someone who knows how hard it is to make a lot of changes, and you taking big steps like moving to Korea is brave as fuck. Wish you the best.
Rekkles journey into autism diagnosis really helped me look into my own mental. I broke down recently on my 5th year of college thinking I just can't ever sit down and study like eveyone else and I looked into ADHD. Met with 2 therapist but both of them are quite certain that I did not have ADHD but severe anxiety and depression. Had some answers but I think that's not the full answer. Half a year later seeing Rekkles opened up his autism really made me connect all the dots, and it really does add up. All the symptoms and cross correlations between ADHD, autism and anxiety are feeling really strong with me. Within half a day from viewing this I realized a lot about myself. Might take another trip to se a therapist to look into this for me. I am very thankful for Rekkles for his story, and Caedrel as an awesome host and listener. Today I found a new direction for my self development and discovery.
@@A_Ki-chan its like im actually autistic, every day of my life is difficult. Then this guy watched his favorite league pro say some nonsense his overpaid therapist said and hes like “wait a second… im like… struggling in school btw. I must be autistic as well”
@@scream2672 you do know that autism is a spectrum right? I had my own fair share of experience and harships since childhood that I had to recount to when going for therapy much much later in college, but autism was not even in my knowledge at that time. What's wrong with feeling things starting to click into place when all the pieces were laid out ever since I'm 10 but I had no idea what the hell is going on till now?
Rekkles has real guts and seems genuinely kind and humble. Korean culture is so unique and the language is extremely difficult.. love that he’s so thoughtful and optimistic. And damn black and red does suit him lol go Rekkles!!
This didn’t even feel like an interview, just a casual conversation between friends. Really insightful look into the life of rekkles. Hoping he has a bright future wherever he goes next.
Rekkles talking about how he very much needs his routine and a sorta .. stable envirnonment I respect him even more for taking on the LCKCL challenge with such a drastic change in, as he keeps saying, role + language + culture - BIG UP to him.
What a treat for us regular league watching folks. Thanks a lot Rekkles and Caedrel, it is obviously banger content. I really like that as soon as Rekkles wennt to T1A the vast majority of western league community stands behind him and cheers for him. Such an interview helps so much to humanize the player and understand the struggles and ambitions, makes it way more fun to follow and cheer for him in the future.
Loved this casual talk! Have been following rekkles for a long time and very interesting to hear his point of view about T1A since we don't see much of that in their vlogs. So much respect for this guy, keep it up! Honesty and hard work is always rewarded in the end. Esports need more people like Martin :)
It just occurred to me that getting a talk like this from a person like Rekkles is an insane gift. I feel like this is something that can be easily overlooked how awesome it is because we're so used to seeing people in the gaming scene on streams and such. But if you think about it, here we get an almost 2 hour long interview with one of the greatest in the scene talking about his personal life, his struggles open an honest. I mean think of this. How often do you see something like this in other sports? And huge props to you Rekkles for being so open about these very personal matters. I think this is more important than you might think. Especially for all the other people who watch this who are in a similar situation. Hearing this from you can make a huge difference. Thanks for organizing this Caedral and thanks for being you Rekkles.
so much love and respect to rekkles for talking so openly about his struggles! that takes a lot of courage! and I'm also really glad and proud that he got his diagnosis and it helped! being neurodivergent isn't bad it's just the way we are :)
I was never a fan of rekless but he is all I remember as “core” fnatic. After he got to open up, especially on the biggest league platform right now 1.took a lot of courage and 2.besides myself, I’m sure he gained more fans that didnt know this grinding, hard-working but also kind and compassionate personality. Thank you Caedral for putting up constant content and good luck to Rekless in the upcoming split.
This was so nice to watch. Hearing 2 professionals who have been at the top reflecting on their past, highs lows and future plans. Growing eSports legends. Reckless however you do in the future you will always have my respect and Cadrel thanks for providing the platform for these players to just pour their hearts out, unfiltered. Choosing streaming if not an easy decision this must have been a feeling good moment for sure 🤙
i really resonated with the re boot explanation rekkles said about if i feel overwhelmed or out of place its hard for me to carry on the day as normal i feel like the only way to feel ok or normal is too sleep and start another day its hard to explain but if you have the same you will know
Its so nice to see Rekkles being happy about his choices! Super happy to hear him sharing his experiences and his diagnosis, he just seems so much more mature! Very happy for him! Will always be a favorite player in my books! Keep at it Rekkles!!!
Caedrel - I want to say I really appreciate how good of a listener you are, I feel like you asked some good questions but really let Rekkles say what he needed to say, you seem like a very supportive friend. So much love to you Rekkles for how much you've grown and I really love how open you were about your diagnosis, and how much good analysis you provided about your career and the game overall. This was awesome to see, thank you both for sharing
Good job Pedro, excellent interview!! It's glad to hear that Rekkless is feeling good and better with T1A. Also T1 is willing to accommodate his wants and needs! Keep up the vibe with teammates and great mentality, Summer is your!! Gazha (Let's go in Korean) 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
Hey cdrill this style was really nice on steam I was there for about 30mins due to Timezone but was refreshing hearing from him opening up in that time was honestly very nice content as a league fan and as a human who enjoys seeing wholesome shit pleade do more
i feel so bad for Rekkles. All the time seeing him on stage i got this feeling that he was truly unhappy, but was too dumb or too stubborn to realize. And now here he's sitting there, an absolute sensitive human being and so self-conscious about all his past decisions. He is really easy to misjudge and i feel so sorry for being on the wrong trail as well. I really hope he is getting all the comfort he needs now!
You can tell Rekky really had a lot to get off his chest here. So happy Ceadral gave him an oppertunity and a outlet. Seems like a really good friend to have.
hearing Rekkles explain his thought process, uncertainty and path to understanding himself during his struggles in the past years was interesting. i also found myself relating to a lot of what he had to say as i think we all have struggled/struggle with the same issues. amazing interview mr rat.
I'm glad Rekkles knows himself better and also is getting great support from T1. Really looking forward to seeing how he and the rest of T1A develops in the future!
Seeing how well Rekkless is and at the same time finding similarities in his struggles makes me really wanna work with psychologist. I was always a Fnatic fan since Shushei season 1 but Rekkless era was something special. I miss him playing in EU but I wish for his Korean conquest to go well and to see him play with main T1 roster in LCK one day.
What an amazing interview. Thank you very much Rekkles for sharing! I've been a fan of you since your early Fnatic days. When you moved to T1A I started watching all your games regularly and live whenever possible. You have been my favourite LoL player and despite everything, for me, one of the Best Players LoL as ever seen. Thank you and good luck in all your endeavours. Amazing content Caedrel, keep it up!
Im living in Korea almost a year now and im studying Korea same like Rekkles and im total agree, understanding is okay, reading is okay, writing is okay but understanding what exacly u have to say in different situation is raff.. so many different ways to say something, then u have parts of beeing friendly depending on to who u talking to and also the particals are one of the hardest to understand and remember and i need to say im studying only from youtube videos :D Greetings from Germany! :D
Nothing but respect for rekkles not easy to come on a stream and be so open as someone who was also diagnosed late with autism it can be hard to accept it but he has a great perspective on it and also makes me more confident and understanding in myself too. Rekkles is the goat. Thank you for doing this interview caedrel
Man so happy Rekkles is feeling alright now 😊 He is so open with his problems and shit, really nice seeing and hearing about all of that. Also Padel rocks!
I am from NA, so never followed Rekkles as close as many others here. But from watching his massive talent in FNC in the early days to following the T1 journey through Caedrel's spectating the games, I am really rooting for the guy. You can tell he has a pure heart and wants to help bring success to those around him. My wife is a therapist, and one of the most important things to understand about autism spectrum is that it just affects how the brain works differently. It's like using the right tool for the job, just because a thick paint brush is not good at handwriting, does not mean that it does not excel at painting a beautiful picture. The very things that Rekkles finds difficult about "being like everyone else" are the same ones that make him so great at what he does. The fact he was willing to travel to Korea alone to take on this great challenge speaks volumes about his character.
Great interview, kudos to rekkles for being so open and sharing what he is and has been going through! Hope he only finds more success moving forwards!
Thank you for this amazing interview! It's so wonderful to hear from Rekkles directly. This is so personal and heartfelt. Also thank you Rekkles for opening up to us. That is very courages of you and I always think hearing someone's story can help others to find their way.
Maybe first time i sat through 2 hours of content in one sitting for a long time. Super great interview which great insight on Rekkles and the whole T1 academy. Waiting for the one after summer split :)
It's also so interesting to hear the perspective of one of the first western players to go to Korea and play professionally. You can tell how dedicated he is to being the best he can be.
Man, honestly, Rekkles is a changed man. He's so different compared to a couple of years ago. He's calm, collected, so incredibly humble in the way he's speaking, acting, and just being. I am so happy for him. He clearly really found himself after his diagnosis. I'm speechless, seeing the person I refused to talk to when I met him 4/5 years ago, to becoming the person he is now. Wish I could have that moment again, would love to have a heart to heart with him!
Thx Rekkles, for opening up. Me as 37 year old person, I realized through your interview that I have authism as well, which makes myself understand many things better as well. I could relate not to all, but to many key points.
Thanks for this video Caedrel it's really nice to have a clear, honest and chill perspective on what's going on with Rekkles and I think this video is gonna be great to show newer viewers who joined in the past few years why Rekkles is so beloved and appreciated by older viewers since a lot of people might not have seen much about him recently given his situation.
Thank you for this VOD Rekkles and Caedrel. It reminded me of how I so much cared and wanted to know about players' stories, struggles and strifes they've had to deal and overcome. Also to Rekkles, your thoughtfulness, inquisitive nature and concise expressivity does make sense given what you've learnt from the doctor. I am really happy for you and I always appreciate how genuine you are towards us and the people you work with.
Thanks Caedrel, not gonna to write a long comment but just want to let you know you really doing a lot making the league's enviroment better & the audience gaining a lot of positive energy from you. Thank you Caedrel.
I really loved the part that Caedral was helping Rekky a lot in the past. Since I have been his fanboy since he debuted in Fnatic, it makes me like our rat king even more. Now, they support each other in every way possible. Our Rekkles is also among the rat community and watches every steam! Keep up the good work, both of you, and I'm sure to support both of you as much as possible as well.
the spectrum talking point reminded me alot of LS, he said he felt way better once he got the diagnosis. Maybe just knowing why something is happening is helpful. keep up the grind rekkles
Rekkles takes on his new role with such inspirational professionalism. I hope he adapts to the culture shock and learning a new language, I can somewhat relate myself trying to learn Japanese/Jp culture. It's important to take care of your mental health as well and he seems well adjusted here, keep fighting Rekkles!! T1
This interview definitely made me like Rekkles a lot more. And hearing about Smash is lovely, I hope Rekkles keeps improving and can achieve good things, maybe together with Smash.
Thank you for your highlights and such on YT. The Twitch streams just aren't my thing, but I really enjoy getting your insight and bits that aren't quite... As much? As the entire stream.
I always loved how open Rekkles is about everything. The conversation from the 43min mark is beautiful Edit: YOU DIDN'T DRINK THE WINE AND YOU DIDN'T HANG OUT OFF STREAM?!
Not gonna lie, I just wrote Rekkles off as being washed, not really in a flaming way but just as a reality to consider from him, and hearing him talk about his struggles and personal growth for him just reminds me that people are just human still and are something much more than what their job is or how they perform. Thanks for being vulnerable and for teaching me to be more empathetic.
