#hunting #whitetail #waterfowl Wondering which action camera you should buy? Which one has the best quality? This video will give you side by side comparison of the @RevealbyTactacam 6.0, Tactacam 5.0, Go Pro, and Shotkam.
Well that was north of excellent. I like to research anything before I buy. This was really well done. 6.0 for me. Just in time for my deer season. Thanks and great job.
Thanks for doing this! I'm already using the 5.0 mounted to my crossbow and two gopro's mounted to trees pointing towards where I normally shoot my deer. I didn't know about the gopro president, but they were gifts. I plug my gopro's into an external battery, 256Gb cards, set on "looping" continuous record (about 6 hours @ 2.7k). This allows me to record from before daylight to after dark and if anything interesting happens, I have 6 hours to climb down and swap cards before the footage is overwritten.
Great review. You nailed it perfectly. I bought the tactacam 6.0 with bow stabilizer and clamp on mount as soon as it was released and so far love it. I like the filter options as well. I prefer standard mode over normal or vivid. Also twilight when it's very low light.
The best comparison I have seen !! Kudos ! I have a gopro 12 and I have been looking for a edited and cropped comparison , thank you !! excellent ! tacticam 6.0 is nice !
Great review thanks buddy I bought 6.0 and solo extreme have not had chance to try them just yet got them last week. I’m excited though, this is great to seee how you compared all them.
Good video. I use camera glasses. In some of my videos on my channel, namely the cache river one you can see the shots from the glasses and from the tactacam. The glasses are like the gopro. Also you get the camera smudged on the glasses if you are not paying attention lol. As far as deer the gopro and glasses are almost useless in timber. Field edge hunting they are better. I have another account where I fly model airplanes. The camera glasses really worked good for that. They also work fairly well for duck hunting. I have a video on this channel, danny cache river farm hunt. You can see the comparison between the glasses and the tactacam. The glasses even have the smudged lens ha. Now, one thing I have done for duck hunting with a gopro was set up a pole out in front of the blind with a go pro on it. Using a remote to wake it up and record. You can get some pretty good video like that if your having one of those in your face working the dekes day. Unfortunately, the video's I have of doing that were lost before I could put them on my channel. As far as using a digital camcorder, I feel like that is just to much if your solo hunting deer. I have one, and I have used it. On my bobcat video you can see it. Honestly though, I have a samsung galaxy S22 Ultra and I think I can damn near get as good as video with it as I can a lot of the mid range priced camcorders tbh. I am definitely going to switch to using my phone next year for deer and away from camcorder. I love your video though and the comparisons. Really good stuff. Thanks for doing it. If you want a link to my model airplane channel to see how the camera glasses really work lmk.
Thanks for doing this man, this was just what I was looking for. I have a go pro, but haven't recorded a hunt in my life. Do you think that I could zoom it in? You were right when you said that deer look really far way. Also, do you know if that 6.0 has the wide angle where you record your face during shots?
You can crop a video down on the go pro but it really takes the video quality down when you do that. For those wide angle views I use a Tactacam fish i, 5.0 wide, or the new solo extreme with the wide angle lens. The fish i is on sale right now.
Great review! I have a Tactacam 5.0, but the stabilization of the GoPro 10 is the why I run them for my filming setup. Further, you can do much more creative work with a GoPro than the Tactacam. One thing is certain though…all these suck in lowlight performance. However, there’s another camera or two that solve that issue. Keep up the good content! 👍🏻👍🏻
I have not. If your thinking the mount itself is making the noise you might try the clamp mount on a stabilizer. Make sure your mount has foam pieces on both ends of the stabilizer mount. Should have foam towards the lens and the back of that mount. Just make sure the noice isn’t ur camera moving back and forth.
Good review, I would prefer the GoPro, especially the newer ones, Just shoot in higher resolutions and crop in close to still achieve a great quality video. Also, the GoPro is great for fishing, family, adventure, etc. Hypersmooth 3.0,4.0,5.0 can’t be beat.
Great review man! Just wondering, I am really interested in using these cameras with the red dot to improve my shooting. Is the 6.0 able to sight in the red dot? As I could see in your video was not sight in properly. I know the Shotkam isn't a problem sight in the red dot but as you said is way more expensive.
Could you tell me if your tactacam 6.0 camera came with a usb cable and a wall charger adapter? Mine didn't come with the wall charger but I have seen some places selling them in the box. Do you know where I could find a wall charger adapter? Thanks
Contact customer support they have great customer support. You could even post on the Facebook groups like “Tactacam reveal freaks” the CS are on there. Mine only came with the cable and not the brick.
Been trying to get good video with tactacam 5.0. It is pretty garbage in the 1st and last 15min of light. Maybe fiddling with the EV would fix it, but can’t be doing that in the woods. Is the new 6.0 any better with EV adjustment or low light filming? Maybe The shotcam?
Make sure your using 15 FPS when at low light. I have my prebuilt settings so that dark blue is 4k @ 15 FPS so at last light I can just switch it over to dark blue and I’m good to go. The 6.0 has a low light sensor. I haven’t played with it much at low light tho.
Without having mine in front of me to double check… I’m pretty sure in the settings of the 6.0 there is a “zoom” option for each of the 3 preset modes. In the zoom you can use your finger to move the slider just a little and it’ll be 2 or 3x zoom.
@@TripleRwoods thanks for your quick response ! Could you share what the edge is with the 6.0. I'm so close to getting the extreme just don't want to make mistake. Lol. And how does extreme match up against 5.0 ? Thanks again !
@@TripleRwoods Your videos with the ShotKam look like actual speed. You can adjust playback to 1/3 speed also. Been using two of them for several years. I often adjust playback back and forth between 1/3 and 1/2 speed. 1/3 speed has a more dramatic look to it if I'm shooting a turkey or Pheasant. If I'm doing a dove hunt video, I'll use 1/2 speed because I have so many clips to show.
@TripleRwoods Outdoors how do I adjust the brightness on the 5.0 buddy.. I was hunting in the woods one evening and tried to video my shot, plenty of light in the woods at the time but when I got home to look at video it was like it was almost dark in the video. Is there a way to adjust the brightness in the 5.0 that's my only concern is while hunting the the woods the video quality looks darker then what it really is
@TripleRwoods Outdoors hey buddy also I never record in 4k.. however do I record in 30fps or the 60fps using 4k.. I've only used 1080p but I like the quality of 4k so wanna give that a shot. I do like doing my kill shot in slow mo but besides that I just record normal so shooting in 30fps or 60fps matter long as it's 4k?
Meh... Keeping my 5.0. 6.0 color is better. I have a 4.0 and a solo as well as the fish eye... Sound is what needs improvement. I hat for pro cameras. I am looking to get a great camcorder for filming. Real optical zoom and more.
I'm disgusted with my Go pro on my bow. From it wearing through batteries. To recording and nothing coming out of it. ATM my I phone 14 is on my bow but next season Tactacam 6.0 or next year's version will be used. Fuc Go pro. There it is I knocked Go Pro.
Your using an archaic GoPro though. Hero 11 5k60 linear mode. Great stabilization. Crop footage. Tactacam has terrible stabilization and the quality isn’t that good.
I pointed out that it is an older go pro. No one questions the quality of go pro images, the ability to crop and how far away the image is was the comparison. Not to mention the CEO wants to take away your 2nd amendment rights.
@@TripleRwoods my point is that if you’re going to compare the GoPro to the other newest action cams it would be beneficial to compare to the newest go pro. Everything else is irrelevant to the review.
