The problem in government offices is that many employees in govt offices is not qualified to work there. Many of those is hired because they know someone inside. That is why it is hard to change the culture of those corrupt officers

That is true Mr. Bulbul. We glorify the hardships and struggles of our OFWs too much, to the point that we cant recognize the problem and actually solve them :(

The sadder part here is that most Filipinos just accepts this. Saying "it is what it is" and doesn't demand a better service from the government. Some just find "fixers" that has connections to bypass the process. Sadly it has become part of the culture in the Philippines where Filipinos just accepts these kinds of low quality services and doesn't demand for improvement from the government anymore and just blame themselves and other Filipino citizens.

Philippines consider OFWs as heroes but in reality they just want their money for the economy :(

I do understand this is very stressful situation wherein you cannot do anything but wait for long. Hopefully lets just not debate left and right why there are huge differences in both government. Even in the US there are lots of corruption despite being a sole superpower. God Bless you Sir for liking our culture and traditions despite all of this. I also tried to renew my passport but it seems that its going to be a long wait

2:23 and 3:50 Korea really has a great culture of Unionism and Activism. They didn't view such "complaints" as a mere noises and such non-sense in their society- they value it and sees its importance for their development.

Government salary is still better than a private owned company. As Nurses, we prefer the government hospital because it does give us a bit more than being employed in a private hospital. Downside is the nurse-patient ratio is too much. Salary for Nurses in the public hospital is around 30k+ while some friends that I knew who are working in the private industry is making around 15-20k (If they are not a "regular" it can be around 10k+) That is all without the "bonuses" Regarding the "bonus" all of the government employee (Regulars not the contractuals or job orders [JO]). I'm not sure about the private industry.

You should apply your son dual citizenship. He needs it, so that he can seek opportunities in both Philippines and Korea.

i agree... to be honest this makes me really sad... it's a long time problem, and i just think that the moment they noticed it happening within the DFA, they should have came up with a plan to not allow it to get this bad. How can it happen for years and they still can't fix it huhu how can they keep their heads up high as employees when this is what they're now known for. If internal accountability mechanisms were employed strictly then the person on top's head would have rolled by now. But the people up there are turning a blind eye and so the normal people are suffering.

Here in northern Emirates ( Dubai, Fujairah, Sharjah ) the consular office opened a third party to assist the consular transaction with regards to passport renewal ( VFS ). We book there and come on time...

Hello Mr. Bulbul, OFW from Nassau Bahamas.. i renew my passport last August 20, 2021 and i received my renewed passport this Nov. 14, 2021.. i don't if it is fast or slow transaction.. (people from polo washington helped ofw's here to renew their passport and other documents)

I don't know how they do it, but there are alot of posts on facebook offering an early appointment in dfa, in exchange you would pay their service (FIXER). Like, you would see on the dfa website that it's fully booked already for 8months, but for some reason they have a way of making your schedule early. It sucks. It's infuriating.

Am a govt employee, salary depends on grade level...sad to say quite low around 13,000-18,000.for common employee...most govt agency really works slow,thats the reality

Im not saying all but most of those working in public offices including LTO, SSS, PAGIBIG and PHILHEALTH are so rude. Instead of meeting every citizen in the said offices with a smile, they always are so hot headed and are very ill tempered(suplada/suplado). I mean comeon.. why try to work as a public servant when you cant communicate to your fellow Filipinos in a friendly manner? Again, not all of them are like this but in my past experiences, majority are.

The Philippine consulate here are way better when pandemic hits. Free grocery and 200USD ayuda. We can renew passport and any government transactions except pag ibig and SSS with free fresh milk 😂. We got Repatriation flights once list are full of passengers even the Consul General will be there at the Airport to bid goodbye and luck. What happened Philipine embassy in Korea you guys got more better office.

Guys... to be fair... you must also understand and consider the fact that the ratio for a new passport application or renewal between Koreans (or other nationalities... in their own country) as compared to Filipinos is 1:1000 or even more... 2.16M OFWs (2020)... and 10M migrant Filipinos all over the world... some dual citizenship... dual passport holders... also in addition other frequent travelers... with that volume... all in all also requires more time to process ... of course not a justification for poor or other laxity in services... they just have to add some workforce... overtime... and updated upgraded digital technology... just saying... ✌🏽😌🙏🏽

only few complain because they (gov't offices) like to gatekeep those complainers. so if you're an OFW (or upcoming one), you just dont complain because getting work is more important. Probably didn't explain clearer sorry

South Korea's Covid cases is increasing even with most of your population are disciplined. Meanwhile, in Philippines, everyone is partying, drinking, babies are inside the mall, children scattered on the streets yet our cases are getting lower and lower and coincidently it is the election campaign period in PH. Talk about B.S. manipulated Covid cases numbers in PH.

Processes/system should be change,faster processing specially for services like passport processing ishould be faster, and yes that's been a problem for ofw's...We are just kinda happy for some update/upgrade because of the current President,plus now passport validity is 10yrs,that's a plus point compared from before ... Hoping, that our government do something about it.

Government officials of the previous administration were put in office without the necessary qualification and nationalism. I don't mind a little corruption, but at least do your job diligently! Having an enormous salary, corruption, and little work but still not doing their jobs is criminal! I hope the incoming administration will change that!

government workers are paid considerably way better than your average worker in the PH not to mention, the "bonuses" these govt workers get every year. the thing is, most of these govt workers really don't have the right credentials, and are only there because they know somebody of a higher rank to "back them up".
