Taiwan Amis Language & Malay Language Words with similar meaning
台灣阿美族語和馬來語意思相似的字.
Amis language is spoken by the Amis indigenous group of people living at the east coast of Taiwan.
There are about 140,000 of Amis people now. This is less the 1% of the Taiwan's population.
Although east coast of Taiwan is a distance away from the Malay Archipelago, interestingly quite a number of words from both Amis and Malay languages are closely resemble.

You can see when Duterte say he have Malay Ancestor and wants to change Phillipines to Maharlika (Same meaning with "Merdeka" in Malay) means Freedome... And History of Bahasa Indonesia... Actually it takes from Malay from Melaka and Riau... So this 2 language have related with Malay language (Malayo-Polynesia (Austronesia))

The austronesians are the people by the sea. As such they ebbed and flowed as the wind and water did over the millennia. They moved in all directions and didn't come from only one place. (They too include the boat people along the coastal areas of China who had been ostracised over hundreds of years. Eventually they intermarried with the Hans).

The same thing, People from malay archipelago migrated out to the south up to hawaii & samoa island. They were called the malai-polynesian. They are not the ancestors of malays.pls read the "out-of-sundaland" research studies. Abundance of material and archeology evidence.

@richarddr1234
@richarddr1234 9 лет назад
I think you should go back to school. Tagalog/Filipino was "enriched" by the addition for foreign words. It is now more capable of expressing itself now. Note further that English is also a bastardized language such that it hardly resembles the original Germanic language that it was--its inflections worn away by contact with the vikings and its lexicon altered to become almost like a romance language. But it became a more expressive language and can now be considered a "world language" so just drop your xenophobia. The Taga-ilogs never left a corpus of prehispanic literature anyway so we have nothing to turn to for inspiration for an indigenous system of word-building. Words like "salumpuwit" are just neologisms and calques that encumber the language rather than enrich it.
@nenabunena

jini08taeki filipino culture has retained more austronesian culture and language than malaysians and indonesians so I don't know why you're damning the Spaniards. If it wasn't for them, the Philippines would be either Islamzied or end up like the Taiwanese natives, Filipinos were better off with the Spaniards. It preserved and strengthened their culture as well as enriched it.
@jini08taeki
@jini08taeki 9 лет назад
nenabunena Thats what you think. Be happy now because the truth just hurts doesnt it? How would you feel if the spaniards killed your ancestors right in front of you? I bet you would take revenge too and never respect them. And what made you say those spaniards were even respectful back then? We dont know what happen, the natives were brainwashed from the beginning and caused a tumultuous event to occur during that time. Your opinion doesnt matter to me, Im still angry that my ancestors died from the spaniards who took their farms and raped them.
@elenadelgado7229
@elenadelgado7229 9 лет назад
the Spaniards killed your ancestors right in front of you? Lol. Talk about delusional. Study history, Filipinos benefited from the Spaniards more do than not. You know who got massacred by the Spaniards? Central and Southern Native Americans which is why they no longer speak any indigenous language and speak Spanish. Their culture is also largely Hispanic with very little trace of the native Americans left. The Church couldn't stop the massacre of the NAs but they did prevent the same thing happening in the Philippines because of it. If the Philippines wasn't colonized by Spain, Filipinos would either be colonized by the Chinese, persecuted to this day, and no longer speaking any of the native Austronesian languages like the Taiwanese natives. Either that or their culture and language will be almost wiped out by the Muslims and replaced by Arabic and Indian culture like what happened to the Indonesians and Malays, there is little to no Austronesian in their culture and most of their words are foreign. Look at how bigoted Indonesian and Malaysian culture is against non Muslims and women in general. But if you really want to talk about widespread local massacres, what about the colonization of the ancestors of Filipinos in the Philippines and almost wiping out negritos? Negritos don't even remember to speak their own language, their language was replaced by a Philippine Austronesian language. So why don't you look in the mirror because you are a descendant of people who did worse to the Negritos than the Spaniards ever did to Filipinos. Hypocrite. I'm a Filipina btw and if it wasn't for the Spanish colonization, I wouldn't even be here.
@elenadelgado7229
@elenadelgado7229 9 лет назад
so you would rather speak Chinese than a Philippine language? Hypocrital statement if I ever heard one. The Taiwanese natives only make 2% of Taiwan, is your dream to have Filipinos reduced to only 2% of the population? Minorities have no power whatsoever and yes they would lose their languages eventually. If some Filipinos are mistaken for Latinos? So what? Latinos are descendants of native Americans who themselves look Asian. 2nd, other se Asians are also mistaken for Latinos, as well as some southern Chinese and okinawans, get over it. Austronesian empire? Austronesians were never united even before Spain, and Polynesians are heavily mixed with melanesians/papuans while Indonesians/malays are heavily mixed with daics, malagasys are heavily mixed with south Africans, Filipinos otoh are still heavily austronesian yet you're still whining about something you know next to nothing about. Thailand is the only country in se Asia that wasn't colonized yet they are still heavily influenced by India, colonization happened and would've happened either way. Get over it. You don't see the Japanese grudging over Hiroshima or Nagasaki, move on and stop being such a freaking whiner, geez. Fyi, the west became great when they took in and adopted other cultures, they were also colonized by other people yet you don't see them bitching over the Romans.

The Austronesian expansion (also called the "Out of Taiwan" model) is a large-scale migration of Austronesians out of Taiwan, occurring around 3000-1500 BCE. Population growth primarily fueled this migration. These first settlers landed in northern Luzon in the archipelago of the Philippines, intermingling with the earlier Australo-Melanesian population who had inhabited the islands since about 23,000 years earlier. Over the next thousand years, Austronesian peoples migrated southeast to the rest of the Philippines, and into the islands of the Celebes Sea, Borneo, and Indonesia. The Austronesians that spread westward through Maritime Southeast Asia also colonized parts of mainland Southeast Asia. YOU GUYS AREN'T ISLAM BEFORE LMAO. And never used to be islam
