Taking a look back at The King of Fighters 13, one of the best Fighting Games ever! 

So KoF13 is free on xbox platforms with game with gold right now (and also on dirt cheap sale on PC everywhere for the holidays) so I figure hey lets take a look back on the game! Lots of people who have never played it, or any kof really are having a chance to take a look at it and I heavily encourage taking a look cause its truly one of the best FG's ever.

My absolute favorite fighting game. This game made my tighten up my execution across all games. This is truly the fine wine of fighting games.

The only thing this game needs is rollback for it to be an almost flawless game

3:40 Jokes aside, the allusion to smash is actually pretty perfect, as KOF is basically SNK’s version of smash, pulling characters from all across their game library.

I am so glad this game is getting some attention it really deserves it. Definitely one of my favourite fgs of all time.

KoF 15 proper reveal is in a few days too! Looking forward to it! Next video should be some interesting Nappa tech in DBFZ that you may or may not consider completely busted and gamebreaking. After that taking a detour back to some MK11 and whenever we get any DBFZ dlc news of course that will be covered!

KOF XIII one of the greatest fighting of all time. one of my favorites.

Purchased it like 4 days before it went free. Not even salty about it because I fell in love with it. It has absolutely everything I could ask for in a fighting game. Very excited for KOF15.

This game is so sick. Hoping KOF XV is just this game with XIV's roster and DLC added.

Even better sprites and animation than 3s in my opinion. And also the reason why I never touched KoF14 before. KoF15 really needs to step up its game when it wants to come even close to the visuals. Even a decade later. Its really unfortunate that we probably will never see such good sprites in any KoF ever again.

Those are some of the most stunningly beautiful backgrounds to ever appear in a fighting game.

I literally just got this game and all I have to say is that 14 felt so different from 13. 13 is pretty difficult but so rewarding when u pull of the one combo you've been practicing and land 50 percent in battle. I'm so hype for 15 and can finally say confidently "kof is better than street fighter" (my opinion, not saying street fighter is bad by any means)

I’ve only ever played fighting games like dbfz, injustice, mortal kombat, stuff like that. I tried this one out today and absolutely love it, the animations, sprites and generally everything is gorgeous. But with the fighting games i’m used to I can’t lie, it’s pretty tough learning combos such as these, but the game is so amazing I’m certainly not giving up on it

Absolutely one of the best and underrated fighters out there

KOF XIII and Garou are some of the best fighting games ever, in my opinion. SNK will hopefully make the KOF XV an absolute banger so my bias is more justified. Also good to see another fan of Vice. My favorite of the Iori team, every time.

Watching this video reminded me that, in a way, KOF is what I wish street fighter still was...

When I played around with this coming from a game like DBFZ, it really shows how bad my execution is in comparison, lol! I was pretty overwhelmed by its trial combos, but the one trial I was able to complete was Maxima's! He's the one I like the most so far! ^^

The peak of Kim Kaphwans pants excellence

This game was the end of an era in some ways. A lot of the characters in KOF had been voiced by the same seiyuu for years, since the inception of the character in a lot of cases, and I think most, if not all, of them were gone after this game. Iori's classic laugh and Terry's glorious Engrish just aren't the same now, and nothing beats Nobuyuki Hiyama as Joe Higashi.

I picked it up recently on sale just to vibe to the combo trials. Would recommend.

It's still available to download on PS3. $30 is a bit steep, but kof 14 still goes on sale alot on PS4 and isn't a bad place to start with the series. It's still a hell of a lot better than street Fighter 5 and hell, even possibly the mk games.

The trials Mode reminds me of the Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha trials which I found a lot of fun back in the day.

I really really loved that you're not only playing Vice but also knows the properties and combos she can dish out. A good Vice is scary enough and a master Vice is to be kept away by all means since her Decide and short hop Gorefest can really mess up almost any characters up, not to mention her anywhere juggle and anywhere full HD combos! All in all good job fam! edit: I really wanted also to perhaps get good with Raiden. Seeing KainBlueRivers Raiden demolish every character he faces is just orgasmic.

I just certain characters were a bit better. It’s nice to have king be great in kof but I’d like ralf to still be worth using.

i just got this game a few days ago from the steam sales. im finally getting the hang of these kof buttons lol so if anyone wants to run some online matches(preferably from US west) lets get some games

I love this game so much. Most of the people I play with don't like it (they're kinda oldschool fundamentalists), and the online is not great, so I can never play it against people. So sad.

Really hope they go back to the KoF 13 art style. I know it's probably unlikely because of how much time and effort that must have taken, but man... That game was so fun to play and beautiful to watch

I bought this game on steam a few years back and spent dozens of hours on just the trials. I wasn’t very good at them though and I found it uncomfortable to do the combos on keyboard. If this game gets rollback at some point I’ll have to buy a stick or a hitbox, the combat system is fun and the artstyle is gorgeous.

I haven't spent much time in KOF13 only because I was only able to start playing it when it came to Steam but also there is a bit of a lack of community and online play. That said though, what time I spent with the game with learning characters and combos, it is probably one of the best fighting games I've ever had a chance to play. For people like me who enjoy fighting games and can only seem to grasp a single character at a time, this game is pretty rough; basic combos are fine for the most part but muscle memory takes a toll for people like me and this game is very precision-heavy meaning that every directional and button input is important - no shortcuts like Street Fighter - and timing is another huge hurdle to get over. Over all, it's a fantastic game but I feel like it's aimed at more advanced players which is probably part of the reason why it wasn't overly popular when it first came out in the first place. Regardless, KOF13 at EVO will live on in my memory as one of the hypest games of all time.

I actually started picking this game up again since it’s on Games with Gold. I played it a bit back when it first came out and I didn’t want to play anything BUT fighting games for a stretch. I’ve always wanted to play KoF and with 15 coming soon, this seems like a good time to learn

The Drive Cancel system gave a new life to the KOF series ! So sad they didn't use it for the XIV...

I wish SNK would go back to having sprites in their games.

This game was so underrated, peak 2D fighting, hope with next year's 15th entry the series would get the recognition it deserves.

this game needs a new edition, heck kof2002 got a new edition and is now considered one of the best kof's of all time. kof13 can do that, just imagine the possibilities. some slight nerfs and buffs, new characters, and rollback netcode. this game as it is right now has better online on steam than on consoles(but its not rollback just slightly tweaked delay based). I think modern kof13 tournaments right now feel bland and boring. everyone has to pick mr karate or ex iori because of how tough and versatile they are. I don't want them to nerf the fun factor out of these characters. but they should think of a good nerf that removes the infinite from ex iori and maybe making mr karate's weakness more apparent.

I just downloaded the game, played through the arcade for the first time and im having a great time. Its just a fun fighting game.

I just picked this game up on 5/4/2023 for the PS3 and played it for the first time.. I liked the 30 min of playing and learning so far but it going to take a bit for me to learn all moves so I put it back on the back log for now...

This game truly is one of the best fighting games of all time! And one of the prettiest! I'd love it so much if SNK came back to this beautiful spritework instead of the ugly 3d like there was in KOF 14. But maybe theres not that much hope for that since sprites like this are a hell of lot of work to make...still looking forward to KOF 15 and really curious how that will turn out. Great video again! When me and my fighting game buddies were really into Street fighter 4, King of fighters 13 was the only game that almost retired us from Street fighter. Ultimately it was because the neck code was so poor he just stuck it out with Street fighter

it is one of the best its like the mixture of kof 98 and 02 but with higher resolutions though i still play 98 and 02 up to this day XD
