Hey Marcus! The two factors that are helping are the Akropovic exhaust seems to be a bit further from the seat than the factory exhaust and it being made of titanium it stays cooler… and as a second part, I ordered the heat shield kit from Ducati Spacers. I have not installed the kit yet as I just got it, but it includes some heat resistant material that will go under the seat and other places near the exhaust to reduce the heat transferred to the rider. The other day I did close to 100 miles in the 90+ degree heat and it was not too bad and that is before the kit install. I was only wearing jeans not leathers, it puts off some heat but nothing I could not handle and want to keep riding. I think once the cooling kit from Ducati Spacers is installed it will be even better. I also read a lot about a radiator fluid called Engine Ice that is really suppose to help keep temperatures down with no negative side effects.. I plan on putting that in it as well in the near future.. I am super happy with the bike so far and I would not let the heat deter you if you really want one as there are always work arounds. I ordered the Akra when I pre-ordered the bike so the dealership could put that on for me before they delivered the bike. It is an aftermarket / upgrade part though, not included with the bike. Hope you are enjoying the SP2 these bikes are absolutely amazing!

Hey Andy... yeah I went with the full exhaust.. I figured I went in so deep, I might as well go all the way. To be honest, I did not even know they offered Akra slip ons. But I am sure either option would be amazing and really improve the overall sound. Congrats on your Panigale SP. I am thrilled with my bike too!

The Ducati is absolutely epic and fulfilling all of my expectations and then some. The dry clutch gives a very raw feel that I did not even understand when first buying the bike, it is everything people say it is and the sound becomes music. Ripping down mountain roads into a tight corner and just stomping down on the quick shift and hearing the exhaust note as the engine braking slows me down a bit in preparation to rip the throttle again blasting out of the corner on to the next one is a thing I will never forget as long as I live. The Ducati Panigale V4 SP coming from a 2016 Kawasaki ZX14R SE is a massive upgrade and I am so glad I went with a Ducati for my next bike. You won’t regret it, no possible way a Ducati could ever be a bad decision. ;)

Hello @abinash d!! Thanks… the bike does run pretty hot. I ordered some heat shields from Ducati Spacers (you can google them) for the bike which is suppose to reduce the heat a bit. I went for about 90 miles in 90+ degree heat without the Ducati Spacers heat shields and it was not too bad. I can only imagine that is really going to help once those are installed. @@cbigelow One more doubt. How does the bike perform in city rides compared to its rivals ? I am planning to get to a superbike, but ducati is in top of my list. I won't be tracking the bike that much, let's say maybe once a year. Most of my rides will be short breakfast rides and character of the bike ? Do you think Ducati panigale v4 is a ggod choice for that ? with the heatshield and a better exhaust will it reduce the heat and make commuting much better in city rides ?

@@abinashd29 it is fine in the city so far. It does have a “street mode” as one of the riding modes. I am in the same use category (mostly street and just a few tracks days here and there). Obviously the dry clutch is a little different than a normal wet clutch, but I actually think I prefer it. The Ducati quick shift is AMAZING! I don’t see how anyone could not love this bike for any use case street or track or just to sit and look at. Lol. 😎

Bike is absolutely perfect, no wrecks luckily! Just been getting settled and moved into our new place (remodel), lots of other commitments for work... but more videos are coming of this bike and the others I have. Does 6000💸 dollar exhaust worth it

@@sunilroyal7060 I am not sure for everyone... for me, I am happy about it. It is like buying a supercar with two wheels IMO. The parts are more, maintenance is more, everything costs more. You can drive to work in a Toyota or a Ferrari and they do the exact same thing... and they both will get you to work (likely the Toyota more reliably.. lol) they just do it very differently and for most it is about the experience. I saved $$ and planned for a long time to be able to get this bike. For me it is all about the experience and the sound it makes is absolutely intoxicating, it feels amazing to ride it. Like a supercar, when I ride this bike around people give me thumbs up and hoot and holler at me at traffic lights (I hear frequent things like: Right on man!!! awesome bike!!)... it is pretty surreal. I had a 2016 Kawasak Ninja ZX-14r SE with some Coffman's shorty slip-ons that cost about $450 US and it sounded amazing too but it also did not void the warranty to add those as far as I know. Ducati on the other hand is very strict about their warranty and what you can do to the bike, the exhaust being one of those things. I think in the end, it is all about what you want in life when considering a purchase like this, not about what you need. This was a want and certainly not something I needed.... I think RU-vidr Jaret Campisi (hopefully I spelled that right) is giving the same bike away in a contest on Patreon if someone is lucky enough to win one THAT would be the best way to get one! Jaret and 650ib both seem like very cool guys, hoping to meet up and ride with them one of these days in the future if they ever make it down to Florida or I am up in their area. Those guys are what the motorcycle community is all about, riding, having fun and making friends. There is an instant bond between motorcycle riders and I love that part of it the best. I plan to do many more videos of the bike and I will do some focusing on the exhaust sound and get some footage of the bike in motion, besides hard acceleration, when you downshift using the Ducati Quick Shift is when the exhaust sounds it's best IMO. It has this "bark" that really makes heads turn and send chills up your spine. Hey Shift Koncepts... it is just a baseball hat looking helmet I wear sometimes when riding my Harley Street Glide on super hot days in FL. It is on my gear page here: chrisbigelow.com/gear/ It does not provide protection really, but it was all I had at the moment when the bike was delivered and it was one of those "something is better than nothing" things and I was doing a quick test ride in Florida which does not require a helmet. There are much better options and when I ride the Ducati I always wear a Ducati full face (Nolan / X-lite) helmet and full gear.

I agree... now if we can just get Ducati to agree..... They like their upsell profits on that I am sure! They might make more $$ on the exhaust than the bike! Lol.

I agree with you... luckily the rain had stopped by the time the delivery dude showed up... The bike actually went right into my living room! Lol...

Everything about it is expensive, I am not going to lie the purchase and exhaust upgrade puts it in nice car price territory. The maintenance is somewhat comparable to a normal super sport bike assuming you don't need parts. If you need any parts, this is where the main difference is. An oil change kit is around $100 to do it yourself. So that is about the same as any super bike and the dealer does not charge any more for an oil change on this bike vs another super bike. As for insurance, it is not that bad as I am older with a perfect driving record. I have no accidents, tickets, etc. and I am 50 and married... so it is not too bad considering the MSRP cost of the bike. Now if you are 22 have a bunch of speeding tickets or accidents, reckless driving or anything on your driving record then it will be a whole different ball game so it can vary wildly based on your unique situation. I will say I shopped around and here in FL the best rates for insurance for me personally was with State Farm and they offer a multiple vehicle discount, so if you insure your daily driver car and your bike with them, it is less for the bike and car. Not sure if that would be the same for you but that is my experience.

I will ask questions tomorrow concerning this bike pretty much everything that comes to mind ! Only thing i can really find here is that those carbon wheels get damage if you hit a pothole somewhere but thank you for the info 🙏 I'll see if i go for it if not another s1krr wouldn't hurt either lol

@@lilboy32367 I am one of those "you only live once" kind of people. If riding is your life, buy it. It is so far beyond anything I have ever ridden, it is just some next level stuff. The level of fast cannot be compared to normal super bikes, it is just on a whole new level. I have had a lot of life stuff going on, but there will be more videos of me on this bike riding the Blue Ridge Mountains this summer. If you do get the bike, think about adding that Akra exhaust too... the sound will give you chills. Coming into a corner hard and slamming the quick shifter down a gear or two and the bike just makes noises you can't hear on anything else, it sounds so pissed off in a good way. In my world, all of it is totally worth doing as you can't re-do life! You get one ride though space on the spinning rock and that's it... life is $45K better with a Ducati no question. Lol. @Spiros Strag Honestly I am not sure... I was wondering the same thing myself as my delivery took longer than I expected for my 2021. Ducati is doing a release of new models right now, I am assuming you have seen that. See this link: www.ducati.com/us/en/home/ducati-world-premiere If you look they are showing DWP Ep. 5 "The Evolution Of Speed" on Nov. 25th so that could be a new Super Bike model or a revamp of a current model. Hard to say... but the DWP Ep. 4 "A new fighter in town" makes me think there is a new version of the Street Fighter coming just by the title alone. First video was the new Multistrada. No matter what you will love your new Ducati ❤️❤️❤️❤️
