Taking The 32 Ruined Roadster For It's First Test Drive 

You guys are 40 year old kids. I am an 80 year old kid that lived through the hot rod period. I get to revisit my youth through your videos. Thanks for the ride. I look for many more.

Love those drive-by shots of the car passing. The V8 sounds excellent. For those expressing horror at the mods done - it's an old Ford. If the guys cut up a rare Alfa Romeo or Jaguar, that would be different. These Fords were the best-selling cars in the world. They were as rare and coveted as a stock Toyota Corolla is today. Why not have fun with them?

I think Kate will like cruising in this one. Girls like a paint job and nice interior. Boys like a motor and some exhaust tone. It’s a win-win.

"Cleaned-up Steve" with the haircut is still gonna take a bit of getting used to -- I'll be watching and go like "who's the new guy? Oh never mind, that's just Steve." 🤣 I'm loving this 'ruined' project more and more. Can't wait to see you guys 'ruin' it even more in the future.

Everything you have done to this beauty has done nothing but increase the value, it's worth more now than when you bought it. love it. The only other things is a vintage Auburn dash, dropped axel, quick change rear and hydraulic breaks. Hang on this this one it's a keeper.

Those first drives are always a hoot! Even the ones I thought must be pretty close to perfect ... leaks, rattles, alignment, vaporlocking, shit suddenly not working again ... but still fun!

This is a dream build (at least for us little backyard guys)! Start with an awesome platform and just keep improving it with swaps and mods! Hitting every traditional mark! Go Iron Trap, keep moving forward!

The car is a time warp now. It takes me back to my childhood. This car looks period correct! Wow it turned out real nice.

Nice to see one with shiny paint all over , and sounding like a car not a truck with a shot exhaust! As to Steves haircut, it's probably worth another 5 or 10mph! Leave the screen, one day you will be glad you did, you will put the wings back on and drive the grandkids around like a sensible old grandpa!!!

Clip windscreen a tad to take it to perfect, well till you lower a tad but that will do it then maybe….. lol hot rods are never finished. Sounds awesome you have done a great job building tribute to the past

I remember my friends that raced on dirt driving their racecars on down the street in the early 80's. Race engines then on Alcohol.

Hi the good part of changing this car is if someone wants to bring it back to stock it is doable. it does look cool.

Waterglass will also seal a crack block too but you'll have to get it way hoter, like 230 hoter than the motor will ever get so the crack will neve reopen

I used a "power-gen"-on my 32,-but I never used a Fan,-I never had any heating problems,--it wasn't a "daily driver"-and i never drove it on "stinking-hot days-but even in traffic,no probs fan-less-(full hood & Eddy-Meyer heads on a stock 46 merc-motor.

After the Sweetheart roadster this car is my fav (although your 33 Ardun 3-window is closing in FAST)! I LOVE this "Ruined (LOL)" roadster! I don't know if I would run it with a hood. That engine is just too gorgeous not to be seen! Driving it around the block was awesome, it sounded bitchin'! BTW, Steve's haircut looks good, it changes his appearance totally! LOVED the video! Look forward to future updates!

I was one of the ones that decried modifying this car TO THIS EXTENT. It was apparently in fine shape when purchased, looked excellent. But I was for an engine swap and the upgrades to the V8 would've been my choice. You've done a fine job but to my eye it doesn't sit right. I don't know if that's because it's a "Highboy" or maybe as Matt stated lowering it might fix what I see as an odd stance. I'll be watching.

Water Glass was originally a egg preservative in WW2 but was found to be great for sealing flathead blocks. It also works for cracked blocks and head gaskets but it has to get to 230 or 240 for it to work on those. Not to many years ago I used it on a Kenworth Tractor and it worked very well on that and a few thousand miles later had the engine gone thru

You actually had me laughing on this one guys . Bunch of damn kids ! Always in such a hurry to "check it out" ! Not bad for mechanical brakes , a known "bad" alignment , & wiring on the floor , but not for lights , ha ha ha . Sounds Awesome , & looks like a million bucks ! I can see why some could feel that way , "ruined" . I like the original look too , & they were a good looking car for their day . But that was everyday . Obviously there are not so many around anymore . But I can see what you are doing here , Matt . You are easing us into it , & it is exactly that "mentality" that is needed , to do a little , & see . Do a little more , & see . Bonus on the air flow , low temp V8 runner . I hope you chop a different windshield frame for it , if that's the direction you go . Lowering it is just leaf deletions , & juice brakes is just common sense . All "original" parts removed , can be sold off to pay for the conversions . I think it is still , if no not more so , a beautiful car . It is more rare now , in this condition . It even has a Paint Job ! What's not to love about this car ? A beautiful car , is like a beautiful woman . The less on , the better . Performance , is also key . So keep turning it , until there's nothing left , but to enjoy enjoy the ride . 😋😜🤪🤣NICE !
