For context I’m Filipino-those Armani shades are ridiculous, but do fit with the continuously problematic white standards of beauty that are prevalent in many Asian countries. Brown and darker skinned Asians exist even if they’re not represented well in many mainstream Asian beauty brands

Cooper Black. has been around as a font since around 1922 -- and became iconic for advertising throughout the 20th century - so it tends to read very poppy/trendy which makes the brand seem perhaps less luxury :)

Yep, that shade range looks about right for the "asian market". At least in countries like Korean or China, this range covers maybe 99% of the population. Also, "fair and bright" has always been the beauty standard there, so they'd rather go too light than too dark.

Just for the reference I bought both of these glossier lip balms and the colors are extremely faint cookie butter is almost clear on the lips and hot cocoa has very slight color so I apply them without mirror and there is no problem (I’m very pale for the reference)

Perfect nude (for my Armani 5.25 cool undertone) is the Makeup by Mario Soft Pop Plumping Blush Veil in the shade barely blushing!!!!

Well, this was a total anti-haul for me, since I only recognized about 10% of the brands! Lol, I have no idea how you find all these brands...and, I love eyeshadow palettes, but that extra large one is beyond crazy! 💚

This was a great video Kait. It was literally like I was having a conversation with you because I was talking to my screen. I had to grab one of my recently purchased Maybelline Lifter glosses & smell it because I know its scent isn’t overpowering. It’s been changed to vanilla. Yay! I really like Revlon’s satin lipsticks because there isn’t an overwhelming fake perfume like L’Oreal puts in theirs & they feel hydrating. I heard the P Louise & Mikayla palette launch has been a mess! Customers are receiving empty boxes with a note in it saying your product is delayed. Crazy! After hearing how you were treated, I feel justified in my refusal to buy Rhode products because HB comes across as a mean girl. JC has admitted in videos to sending explicit pictures to underage young men, hence the pedophile label. He also said recently that a Morphe palette he pushed in 2015 or so was trash & he knew it while he promoted it. But it got him his first Morphe collab & $$$, so it was worth it. Karma is coming for him. That pretty much sums up my comments. 🙄 Everything is a pass for me too. You look like you’re feeling better today & that red lipstick/gloss combo is beautiful on you. I love your eyeshadow and lipstick. I agree with you about the font size on Kylie's makeup. I don't like it whereas I really like the font on Fenty's cream blush. FYI--I own a good red lipstick--Maybelline's Color Sensational Red Revolution. I saw a makeup artist use Maybelline's Color Sensational lip liner in Raisin with it and it looked great.

Em cosmetics can do no wrong in my eyes lol at least when it comes to the eyeshadow palettes. I love the compact size, there’s only six shades in each one so you’re not overwhelmed with too many shades, you don’t have to worry about wasting money on repeat shades in the same palette, the color ways are so pretty, and above all else that formula is top tier.

I bought the L’Oréal lipstick from your recommendation Kait and I love it. Lasted me all night through a holiday party. It didn’t dry the heck out of my lips either.

Revlon actually had a really good concealer that got discontinued like a year ago. It was the Candid concealer and sometimes I like it even more than my high end concealers. I still have a couple tubes so i do alternate between that one and a couple others. So this makes me wonder if this new concealer will be anything like the Candid. I definitely am gonna try it. I bought the live tinded concealer and I didnt love it. I didnt find it any better than the ones i use now and I'm at a point where I just have no interest in keeping a new product unless its superior to what I already own. Unfortunately it wasn't so I am returning it. I dont buy new products often by the way.

Hey Kait, I'm not sure if this counts as a nude blush, but we have pretty similar coloring and taste in makeup, and my most natural/go with anything blush is NARS powder blush in Behave! They call it a "pink mauve," but Temptalia calls it "a muted, light-medium pink with warmer undertones," and that seems a lot more accurate to me. It definitely looks warmer on my face than in the pan, but it's not overly orange or peach either. Hard color to describe, but I really love it!

I hate lip plumping products. I don’t like how it makes my mouth feel and I’m irrationally scared it’s going to enlarge my lips permanently. But the dick/duck plump made me laugh so hard, by the way I saw it too. And really who has the thought “ohp I want to wear this lip product today, better stick it in my bra so the formula hopefully does what it’s supposed to do anyway” they should pay the consumer at that point for making the product work properly.

Girl, I'm subscribed and like glam eyeshadow. So don't underestimate your appeal to the heavy duty makeup freaks like me. And second, the giant blue and nude palette is a hard pass. Yes, I already own enough blue and nudes.

I saw the Arizona lip balms when Urban Outfitters was having 40 percent off everything for Black Friday. I had a feeling they were going to taste gross. Glad I didn’t get them anyway because they were on sale, which I’ve done too many times in my life 😁

I live in India and tbh the shade ranges for asian markets are abysmal. Plus, when brands say "asian market" they mean east asian countries, like korea, china, japan etc and maybe the UAE. The 30+ other asian countries aren't even considered lol. But finding a good shade can be difficult here, since the sephora and beauty store workers tend to push lighter shades on you, I suppose its a colorism thing. Always trying to get people who are dark skinned to feel bad about their skin tone, and I'm not even dark skinned 🥲 the shades can sometimes be so orange for dark shades, and so grey for lighter shades. Not only does the shade range suck, its also the undertone range that has 0 thought put into it. Most indian companies have terrible shade range, and only the high end stuff like Charlotte Tilbury, Givenchy, Estee Lauder etc have a good shade range. However, the prices in these high end brands is not only jacked up by 40% in India, but also very unaffordable for the average indian, given that we're a developing country with high levels of poverty and an overall low purchasing power. Hope this gave some insight to anyone interested in makeup in at least the south asian countries! Also : I guess bc I'm 21, I don't mind the kylie font for that product! I don't have the glow balm but I do have the gloss drip, and its insanely sticky but the packaging, shine and smell just keep me going back to it. Reminds me of the victoria's secret glosses, and it smells like these candies my mom would get my brother and I from a local pharmacy lol.

I’m so bummed about the Rhode lip balms. I haven’t tried them, but they are one of a few lip products that my dermatologist recommends as “safe” for my propolis allergy. Does the grainy issue persist when it’s on your lips? Given that I have very few options with this allergy, I might be willing to put up with some graininess on application, but not if it’s going to be grainy on my lips.

The way I talked myself out of Black Honey was by learning about Ronald Lauder, eldest son of Estee who handles the companies, he founded Trump campaign's rise to presidency and Netanyahu's, so yeah it's gonna be no for me.

The problem w the term "Asian" market is that it actually means only China , South Korea and Japan which are of course the by far biggest markets dollar wise for beauty. It's very misleading and we should really say East Asian market. All the typical luxury brands are very popular there and often even more so than in the West. There is an overarching similarity in aesthetics for sure, strong focus on youthful appearance, preference for more subtle daily make up, people do idolise brighter, lighter skin tones as well which is an issue. People are much more homogenous too so you do see a much smaller range of skin tones like you do in any other country where the vast majority of people share the same ethnicity. So the brands simply release the shades that will sell best there. But it's also similar to how make up looked in the West not too long ago...if you are on the outskirts of the shade range on either side you won't find a foundation match. So brands should improve their shade range and there are younger Korean brands that do release larger shade ranges nowadays.

I googled the Bobbie Brown Collab with Powerpuff girls and it's meh. I love PPG but this collection seems so incoherent. A lot of nudes and cool tones. I was expecting pink, brighter colours, maybe some neon even. I know it's Bobbie Brown but well, at this point they could have chosen another collab, lol

Personally I don’t think that in the Asian beauty market brands should get away with releasing all pale shades. People of color live everywhere around the world and deserve to be included. They may be the minority in Asia, but they still exist. It may be the norm for the Asian beauty market to release shade ranges like these, but I don’t think it should be

pleasing as a brand is meant to be more of a stand alone thing,, harry is the ceo but he really separates himself from the brand so that people take it more seriously. i think it definitely represents him as a person but not him as the harry styles brand if that makes sense. every product comes out slowly and there is a ton of thought towards the ingredients and sustainability etc. i imagine the goal is to become more of a designer brand over time
