I took my Daughter Pip out tarp camping at the end of the summer holidays, it was her first time sleeping in a Hammock, we build a tarp shelter and had a nice camp fire.
Thanks great video. Brings back memories of taking my son camping when he was little. We're planning on going out for a few days when it's spring and he's 27 now.
Great little trip there mate, it's a shame Pip was not well. Your camp reminded me of my camp with my eldest daughter Summer. We did 2 hammocks under 1 tarp which worked really well for us. Thanks for sharing mate, atb Steve.
Liked the tarp 'bunk' set up. I've hammocked in a British army bag before- toasty warm😯😰🔥.... maybeez too warm for summer use?!!! Credit to you & Mrs CLB, Pip seems an absolute joy to have around..... and willing to lend a hand too⛺️😊. Me & the missus did some toasted marshmallows out the back of ours last week..... those were chocolate HobNobs if I'm not mistaken ???🤔😍👍...we can get those in Australia 😎👍
What a lovely quality time! It’s great to see a young girl taking interest with outdoorsy things. Well done, Pip for helping out! And nice set up too. All the best with her health. Mari
Hey Dan, I hope poor Pip got over her tummy bug, but at least you both got some quality time together. Nice camp, and you both have a similar sense of humour which made the whole trip work. Thank you both for sharing your time, and once again I hope Pip, you are well. ATB Dave
Cheers Dave, thanks for watching mate, it was fun up until the vomiting! Pip slept for a day and woke up starving.. she was running around not long after eating half the house.. kids! : ) have a good weekend Dan
Fantastic!! Lovely video and such a treat to see you with your beautiful daughter and the gorgeous Tink. Some very funny moments too. Pip, you are such a lucky girl to have such an adventurous dad. When I was little, many years ago, my dad would take me on adventures like that, from night hikes, wild camping, metal detecting, night fishing, we even made movies, using an old cini camara. If only we had you tube then... I know it was because of my dad I have such an interest in adventuring now. So sorry Pip was poorly. x
Sounds like a great childhood, its good to get kids out and about I think. Pip was fine within 24 hour by the way, I think it was just a tummy bug. the next day she was bouncing around like normal : )
Nice one mate, cool little set up, a real shame Pip wasn't well hopefully it didn't spoil her experience too much, nice to see families out together. Cheers.
@@CampLifeBushcraft LOL... been there dude. Soon she will be all grown up and starting University, I'm here in York as Chloe starts uni today!! Peace and quiet in our house until Christmas holidays.
Ab Fab vid. Pity the tum and weather weren't behaving. At least, when looked back on, you can take the mick out of her, when she brings friends home, in later years.
This is what life is all about. Hold on to it cuz it doesn’t last near long enough. The s’mores looked good. I love s’mores, but they don’t play well with my beard. 😂
... and another great vid from the CLB stable :) Thanks for sharing yet again Dan, loved seeing Tink and your relationship with Pip, you two do bounce off eachother well and that will only get better as time goes on :) Now you know I always like to try and give you a little fatherly advice when I see your antics and today's gem of wisdom is that you might want to be a little more selective about where you collect your water, especially when there's a choice. Do you have many cows where you live? We do and let me tell you, the first two things they do when their feet hit the water is Nr.1's and Nr. 2's :oO ... seriously, I kid you not, even if you'd waded out a tad more to where the water was moving would have been better ;o) ... Just a thought for the next time. As for Pip, touch of sunstroke perhaps? could just have been the unaccustomed feeding habits of the day. Again, thanks for letting us in to share your adventures, I enjoyed it a lot and as always am already looking forward to the next one :o)
Hey Thanks for the water tip Jo, sounds like an easy yet sensible precaution.. there were cows roaming where I was camped with Pip. I'm not sure on why Pip was ill, she recovered within 24 hours.. probably just a bug, as I ate the same food as her and was fine. I don't think it was too hot as we were mostly in the shade. as you said the change in routine could be a factor, we ate pretty late and went straight to bed. No harm done though. Have a great Sunday! Dan
Cheers mate, I think it was just a tummy bug, we ate the same things and I was fine.. she was over it within 24 hours and back to her normal self. kids are pretty resilient. Thanks for watching : )
Campfires are not permitted on Dartmoor as it is a peat area which is prone to wild fires. General woodland unless you have permission then fires are not allows either. ... but if nobody is around... Having an understanding of Fire safety is a sensible thing to have. Maybe consider a bush box type twig stove in order to keep things contained better.
