Good find. There are a bunch of tasks throughout scheduler that can be disabled or deleted. Installed 3rd party tasks add a bunch more. Worthwhile to look every few weeks.

Enabling "verbose status" can help identifying problems when starting or shutting down system. It shows you step by step what system is doing while youre logging in or shutting down. Windows Server versions have that setting on by default.

Some tasks will re-enable or even re-create other tasks. If this happens, you'll have to figure out what task is doing it, and disable that one as well. It can sometimes take quite some time to finally disable some tasks.

That what happens when certain tasks is trying to do something when it holding the restart or shut down. Seems like the sync option is not in use so create a local account usually disable this synchronisation stuff

just one of the reasons I stopped touching deep windows settings/config. Not only it can break some things, most settings config will be restored by a Windows update.

When I want computer to shutdown fast and not halt on updates or apps saving, I use power button. (Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options\System Settings) Then I have disabled all kind fast startup, sleep, hibernate modes.

Done an in place upgrade on my Windows 10 install and this issue came up after. Disabling the task like mentioned on the video is the only thing that worked after trying a bunch of "fixes" I've seen online.

Bro! Great video. I learned several things. Thank you. Q. I know that Win 10 & 11 do not have a "Last known good", setting, but did you really have to wipe windows completely? I`m not following what you are doing in one part of the video. Did you say that wiping windows entirely, still showed the problem, or are you saying that the only way to clear this error is to go into the settings, you showed? I disabled it and I thought I was all good. I got another task host but it didnt show the exact destination to go to. Before I disabled it, it showed me where to go like in this video. Second task host didnt say anything like that.

I deleted Language Components Installer from Task Scheduler as it could not be disabled. Will that cause a problem?

Just place your personal files on an external HD "All you hold dear in fact"... Reload Windows 10 11 etc. "after deleting old windows"... That is the succinct way to stop these dead in their tracks...

This is what I do, create a shortcut that does this: shutdown -s -t 0 -f This will force it to shutdown. Or this to force restart: shutdown -r -t 0 -f Although I prefer shutdown -h

Wiping a pc is hardly ever actually needed. User profile is corrupt. Create a new one and try replicate the issue. If you can't replicate it, then migrate to the new user profile.

I hate that fuckin task scheduler it causes all sorts of problems, or some stupid program you'll use once will constantly look for updates, had one program run a task to log every few seconds creating thousands of log files several MB running my hard drive out of space within hours, stupid MS for allowing that, didn't take to long to figure out what program was doing it though since it's logged it in it's directory

Something sfc and/or DISM would probably fix.
