If you want to buy a car and want to keep for 15 years and this is the case for a lot of middle class families with low income levels in India, then Ignis is the car to choose with reliability, ground clearance and an engine that will go for years without any hassle. I have serious doubts over TATA's small engine's longevity and reliability over a period of 15 years. Even in the bigger TATA cars they use FIAT sourced engines and in their bigger Trucks they use Cummins sourced engines which are both tried and tested and reliable. Tata might have got the structural aspect of their cars to 5 star safety ratings but their engine development needs more work. 🙏
I am driving Ignis Zeta for last 7 months. Getting a mileage of 15-16 in city driving. Its engine & pick up is awesome and no complaints regarding driving at over 100 km/hr..it's quite steady. It cuts corners at hilly roads very smoothly and also very very good for city driving. Space-wise also I have no complaints. Being a maruti car I know it will fetch good resale value which I can invest in buying an EV car in 3-4 years time. Maruti service is excellent unlike Tata. Overall Ignis is a superb car and you realize it once you drive it which is nothing but sheer pleasure.
I bought the zeta model last october, and do feel the same about the car. Its awesome to drive around the city. The noiseless smooth engine and the reliability that comes with it is really praiseworthy.
Top variant of Tata punch is almost Rupees 2.40 lakh more than the top variant of Ignis. Moreover you get ALMOST all the features of Tata punch top model ( which cost approximately 11.1 lakhs ) in the the Ingnis'zeta dual tone model, which costs just 7.3 lakh, (Difference of almost 3.80 lakh rupees with this amount one can buy another brand new Maruti Alto). In ignis you get reliable engine, great mileage and much better power to weight ratio. Maruti Ignis offers a greater value for money, lower maintenance costs and better fuel efficiency, while Tata Punch offers much better safety and riding comfort. My conclusion is that Ignis will be a better choice for the middle class people in short and long term. But for those people who don't care for anything but safety only then for them it's Tata Punch. Here we should remember that most of the time it's the careful and responsible driving that that keeps you safe.
Tata Punch tiks all the boxes, except the 1200cc 3 Cylinder Engine. And the Engine is like a HEART of any CAR, overall PUNCH comes out as Heart Failure Body Builder ...........
Sir , 3cylinder engines are very munch fuel efficient than 4 cyl when u have less power to weight ratio... Even vw skoda still uses 3cyl .. who said 3 cyl engine poora fail hai.. u r understanding is wrong . 4 cyl thoda refined on starting .. after 1500 rpm 4 cyl also make more sound equal to 3cyl.. tata punch is best engineered vehicle in India.. space ,comfort ,suspension , all saftey features
@@sixstarsuchiang9441 everyone don't prefer diesel engines. Some prefer petrol due to less cost, less maintenance and NVH. Also people who don't travel alot by car, diesel is a bad investment for them.
Please update your mindset. Maruti cars are more on roads and are more reliable overall compared to tata cars. Don't just go for safety, as car with problems is of no use for driving.@@sixstarsuchiang9441
Ignis owner here. Few days ago I was in Gujarat for Navratri for 3 days and stayed with my cousin. We traveled a lot in his Punch and I can fully agree with you on the ride quality. Major reason for this I believe is the Kerb weight of the Punch and better tuned suspension to support the weight. Heavier car + better tuned suspension -> less bouncy ride -> better ride quality.
@@kirankumarmrjain As he mentioned above, punch gives best ride quality because of smooth and well tuned suspension,. Ignis suspension is stiff long ride in rear side is not good. But punch has 3 cylinder under power engine which make punch laggy compared with 4 cylinder engine of ignis. If u want safety and better suspension go for punch, if u want a reliable car with powerful refined engine go for Ignis. Note : Suzuki to introduce facelift of Ignis this year in which they update ignis engine with dual jet which is even better, we expect Suzuki would lite it's stiff suspension.
I think a tyre upgrade to at least 185 60 R15 would drastically improve Ignis Rode and stability and would be a better package than Tata but the safety
For city usage, Ignis seems a better choice. Also, the pricing of Punch is bit disappointment. One should rather increase budget a little and get Nexon XM instead of Punch.
Ashish,, I think tata didn't gave any button for power window, music system and ac. All are sensor based right...??????? U said suzuki gave every where button... What people would do with 90 degree and 45 degree door... Ur content and video doesn't match.. Kindly see to it
@@timesdriveenglish Yes sir. I did like it but apparently given the bad after sales service of Tata showrooms, poor resale value and less number of service touch points.... I would choose the ignis any day given it's ease of ownership, easy availability of spares, wide service network of Maruti Suzuki, good mileage and low maintenance coupled with smooth engine and good resale
Killer Combo would be Maruti's K Series Refined, Responsive & Efficient 1.2 Petrol engine on Tata PUNCH. Tata Punch overall is a perfectly sized Car for Indian Family & Road Conditions. It offers the best built, ride Comfort & Ingress-Egress comfort. It lacks world class engine refinements as it produces high NVH levels, Quality Customer & After Sales Services. If Tata offers PUNCH EV with same Tiago or better battery Pack & Drive Motor at an affordable Pricing of 9+ lacs to 11.5 lacs maximum it would be a Killer in the Segment because it replaces the High NVH levels wala Revetron engine with EV Silent Drive Motor. Sone pe Suhaga Ban jayega PUNCH for Sure.
@@theexplorer1822 would say Citroen C3 offers Taxi variants with Basic Quality & features. By not offering electrically operated ORVMs in 2022 is a big mistake in the age of competition.
@@rajoosolanky780 hahahaha then for features you can go for Hyundai/Kia. But electronic features like these are least significant when you select good cars. C3 has best in class suspension, best Engine, best ride quality, best ride comfort. The engine is fine tuned to next level (in the league of VW Polo). It's reliable, durable and no nonsense car.
Ignis is my first ever car zeta variant, just loving it. Getting an amazing mileage of 20plus. I bought this car and then learnt driving.hope I made the best decision of my life.
Present day Tata engines are worst. Their service centers are ridiculous. Ignis is a 3 star safety car and its very costly in their year 2023. I'll prefer Ignis over Celerio, Wagon R, Tata Tiago, Punch. Never ever buy Renault cars whose engines can't pull 4 healthy adults in a flyover. Purani Climber bechke Ignis leli orr abb mei bohat kush hu
Being punch owner it is almost perfect car in every aspect. Even with 3 adults it can pulls off without any lag. However struggles with 4adults. If you are small family with majority travel involves 2 or 3 people go for punch.
Dear Ashish, you gave a good comparison but your door closing sound comparison was partial as IGNIS door was closed with glass little bit down and PUNCH door was closed with glass fully closed. Obviously, sound will differ.
Looks like asish is trying hard to drive home the point that punch is better than ignis...User can decide...take a test drive of both.. multiple times...also think about the service TATA/maruti suzuki
@@terrybatman but asish seems to be convinced about the build quality of ignis too...but having said that the drivability of ignis is far better than punch..due to 4cylinder pot...what say Arun??
@@rajeevkrishnan678 true. Ignis driving is really comfortable. But the surprising thing about ignis is it almost went upto 175 kmph which I don't think is stable for a car of its design. But yeah, really comfortable drive as long as the road is even and doesn't have too many potholes.
@@terrybatman for the same reason the car has stiffer suspension for high speed stability... actually contemplating to buy a ignis...mostly i see negative comments on the car ..but personally I like the look of the car...quirky but different...better than Swift I presume 😌
You have partly opened the driver side door of the Ignis while testing the build quality. Any car will sound hollow if you of open the window side glass.
I have maruti Ignis and Tata Nexon....dono brands me bhut jada difference h..... 1. Maruti ki service bhut fast and satisfying h specially at Nexa 2. Engines, refinement level brilliant 3. Light controls and 20+ mileage 4. But dekhne me utni khas ni hoti maruti ki gadiya, moreover low build quality and suspension system is not that great also 5. Tata ki service vahiyat h 6. Engines utne khas ni h moreover controls are quite heavy, very low mileage 7. But ride comfort, seat comfort, high speed stability, build quality, audio output and looks are brilliant Note - mere xperience se bta Raha hu....jiski highway running jada h usi ko Tata ki gadiya Leni chaiye for city use one should definitely prefer maruti cars
In which fool's paradise are you living on??? Ignis better on ride quality??? My foot. Except Citroen C3, there is no hatchback car under 10 lakhs which can surpass Tata Punch's stellar ride comfort. Maruti is only better in engine refinement. Except the engine refinement, ignis has no advantage. Even a Renault kwid offers a far more better ride quality than this shitty maruti.
@@sharmafitness5899 Only rear armrest. And 4 speakers in base model rythm pack and second model. From second model rythm pack onwards as he said. Everything else is in all models.

For any Car , engine is the heart of the Machine....here Ignis best Punch handon..without any doubt......A 1.2 liter three cylinder engine can not be compared with a 1.2 liter 4 cylinder engine
After driving punch AMT for around 500kms in city, i feel there is a power lag when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. Shift is very much noticable and mildly jerky. It won't be a problem if you are on open roads or moving constantly, but evident in bumper to bumper situations.
@@suhass2838 After few days you may get adjusted to its drive. Then it is a pleasure driving it becoz of good ground clearance, handling and comfort which is must in Bangalore considering the pot holes nd speed bumps.
I have both cars tata punch is solid and safer than ignis...ignis gives better average..on highway around 23 km per litre and controls and drivability is better than punch My punch gives 18 kmpl and has better presence... If need a safe car in totality it's the punch... Ignis looks are bit not likeable but yes better to drive in city and good average... Service wise tata has improved a lot...
Safety rating kon de raha hai Sir ? it’s a crash test rating, that too on 67 kmph speed. Safety me ye parameters nahi aayenge ? breaks, handling, steering feedback ? “5 star safe car” is a wrong presumption in people’s mind.
17TH LIKE GREAT VIDEO ALWAYS FULL ENERGY HIIIIIII ASHISH SIR WHTSUP HOW YOU DOING HOPE GREAT THANKS FOR YOUR VALUABLE INFORMATION KEEP IT UP 👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️🚙🚙🚙
The noise in punch was too much I was wearing headphones and when they switched from punch's cabin to ignis's one it felt like going from a tempo to an actual car.
Meri Ignis ko leke ek saal ho gaya, aur is ek saal ka experience aasan shabdon me bataoo to Ignis ek entry level 'FUN TO DRIVE' car lagi. Maine car lene se pahale Tata showroom ko bhi visit kiya tha Tata punch ka test drive lene ke liye par unke paas test drive ke liye car available hi nahi thi to unhone mujhe tiago ka test drive offer kiya aur Punch ka waiting period 6 se 8 months ka bataya.
A lot of people complain about the rear of Ignis not being so eye pleasing but to be honest the rear of Punch is plain ugly, it needs change and so does it’s engine .
Punch is good in terms of safety but misses the riding punch ignis is close to a lakh cheaper than punch is comes with much more punchy and smooth engine and value for money portion is unbeatable. No chance here.
Just because safety rating is there it doesn't mean the car is beyond others . Ignis is equally superb car and better performance of its engine and a joy to drive car. Don't forget it is most liked car even in UK.
I have just purchased ignis Fact That Tata Punch is more safer But With Budget Around 6 L And Value For money Car I Have Go For Ignis Sigma In My Opinion And 2000km experience This Is A Very Underrated and Practical Car No Doubt Tata Punch Is More Safer And Ahead In Many Prospects But With Budget Around And Looking For Your First Car And With You Want Space Power With 1.2 L Petrol Engine And Some Premiumness Ignis Provies Me With All This in My 6L Budget....
when you are comparing 2 cars, then pls compare similar priced cars. Punch is costlier than Ignis for base model. pls compare the car which has price similar to punch base model
Ignis for Reliability, refinement, narrow lanes, long term ownership and low cost of ownership. Tata for structure and strength, CNG option, Comfortable back seat, reliability still an issue, and poor service.
Punch is little over priced compared to the value , on highway punch is anyday better with higher speed stability. If someone willing to spend 10 -11 lacs for a safe hatchback with little compromise on engine noise and unreliable AMT( only for automatic buyers) then punch else for city use around 8 lacs budget Ignis zeta Amt becomes better choice
