You really have to be in tune with pop culture to pick up on some of Family Guy's obscure jokes and references. Phil Spector was a music producer convicted of murder back in 2008. He apparently shot actress Lana Clarkson in the mouth in his mansion back in 2003 hence Family Guy's reference to an infant ( Stewie ) being shot in the mouth. Spector was sentenced 19 yrs to life in the California State Prison system.
