I never understood why they didnt deliver Zats to atlantis. After all they dont rely on ammo and are evidently effective. But they had to use captured wraith guns instead, because its a different show.

Nah man the particle magnums are way cooler in my opinion. Pack more of a punch too. Still to answer the original question, i think its along the lines as to why the Asgudians didn't share heir weapons; don't give away anything that could be used against you. Even amount allies.

I don't think they all fed, probably one or two of the weaker ones who needed too or the older ones who had the "right". they were probably more focused on securing the base as a beachhead since only one or two soldiers were fed on I believe.

The Wraith were slowly but surely nerfed as the series goes on. The first season Wraith were my favorite villains in all of Stargate, being predatory insect vampires IN SPACE. One wraith could be a genuine threat for the whole team for an entire episode. But then they sort of became cheapened as the show went on, turning a lot of wraith into generic grunts for actions scenes. Even their stun weapons became inconsistent. It's disappointing, and is a symbol of how the show's quality began to fade as the seasons went on (I still love all five seasons, but seasons 4 and 5 weren't AS great as the first 3).

@@AmericanZergling they did the same thing with the Goa’uld in SG-1. Think how powerful and hard to kill they are in the first season. Ra in the original film is even more powerful than that. Then they made the Tok’ra weaker than Jaffa even though they are technically the same species as Goa’uld. It’s supposed to show that humans are improving, and thus they seem less impressive, but given that for most of the run the SG teams don’t even use the (significantly) more powerful alien weapons much other than Zats and don’t substantially change their tactics except for in special episodes, I don’t really see how they improve lol. Great shows, but flawed. I prefer the film overall.

@@EzraYalanBenjamin My thoughts towards the Goa'uld is that they had a serious budget limitation. Like, they started incorporating Middle-Eastern, East Asian, European, and Sub-Saharan deities as the show went on, but everyone's still rocking that Egyptian look for 4,000 years. I feel like the creators would have totally created more new props if they could, but they were limited by how much they could realistically afford.

@@AmericanZergling that’s certainly true, regrettably- but it’s not per se an excuse to drastically reduce their power. Hell, if they’d kept it so that Goa’uld abilities (like in the film) are innate rather than technological, they’d have saved money on hand and healing device props. But the budget certainly reduced what they could do with them.

No. This was a problem with jaffas also. They were standing there in every fight and just pointing staff weapons. When they shot with it they mostly missed. And goa'ulds trained jaffas since they were children and continued training all the time. This is just bad writing. Makes no sense.

MultiJejje It is the same issue with the Storm Troopers from Star Wars. If they were depicted as being so accurate all the time, the story would be impossible to progress as the soldiers would be too efficient. It is called a plot shield.

O'Neill mentions that when he offers ballistic weapons to the jaffa resistance. The Jaffas are trained to fight like old musket infantry, their weapons are powerful but innacurate.

I would bet Ronon wins. He survived years as a runner from the Wraith and was a trained soldier before, even Tal`c can´t keep up with so much training.

To be fair in the sparing match Ronan looked better with weapons but Teal'c had a clear advantage hand to hand.

Ronan rushed in either falling for a trap or just being careless, rather then being straight up overpowered, but that is itself also an example of why Tealc is a better soldier and would win in a real battle.

It's not invisibility, it's disintegration, and the writers decided that was dumb so they removed it.

Joseph Nine months late I know but in an interview Rachael Luttral said she didn't have the presence of mind to grab any props when the show wrapped, unlike Jason who had a huge bag and stuffed it with anything he could get hold of so I think it's a safe bet he has that blaster to this very day. He even took the back of her chair with her name on it!!

It also depends on how much Human life force they have taken. A Wraith that just fed can take a lot hits

@@ff3player True, but in this scene it's safe to assume that the wraith were well fed. Teal'c and Ronon found many bodies that had been drained, and the wraith soldiers would also have eaten before going on the mission to ensure they were at full strength.

It takes three shots from that gun to vaporize a body. You raise a good point about the other SG teams' ability to defend the base. With their training, experience, and weaponry, they probably could have put up a better fight.
