Aug 19, 2024 - Hearing this song for the very first time. I was brought here by Donny Gerrard, Skylark - Wildflower. The talent in that room is indescribable!!! MASSIVE!!! I grew up on their music. I love all of them!!!!! 65yo from Phoenix AZ....... Love & Peace 💗
Great song with lots of great artists boy Brian Adam and Corey Hart had powerful voice I rediscovered that song after learning that Geddy Lee was in it (big RUSH fan here 😃)
Lyrics by Bryan Adams, Paul Hyde, Rachel Paiemont, Bob Rock and Jim Vallance. Music by David Foster. Produced by him and Jim Vallance. On the piano 🎹 is David Foster. On drums 🥁 is Jim Vallance. On lead guitar is Paul Dean of Loverboy. More credits in Wikipedia. Only ones not born in Canada 🇨🇦 are Paul Hyde of the UK 🇬🇧 and the late Ronnie Hawkins, RIP 2022, of the USA 🇺🇸.
Im a french canadian who searched this son for decades!!! such artists are there! Gordon Lightfoot, Burton Cummings, Geddy Dee, Bruce Cockburn Anne Murray and 3 drench speaking Quebecers artists that im glad.to find in the lot Véronique Beliveau, Robert Charlebois and Claude Dubois. Canadiens are great ans Soulfoul!!!❤
Freaking John Candy, Eugene Levy and Cathrine O’Hara in the chorus 😂🤣😂. I had completely forgotten about that. I was only 8 when this song debuted after all.
È stato un periodo bellissimo in cui la musica e gli artisti si sono uniti per un unico scopo... Aiutare le popolazioni in difficoltà... Mi ricordo anche il live Aid che energia e che atmosfera .. meraviglioso 🥰❤️
They should do a new version of this song that features the current surviving musicians such as Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Geddy Lee of Rush, Bryan Adams, Corey Hart, Mike Reno of Loverboy, and Anne Murray. Then, they should get some of the current new Canadian musicians that have become big years later such as KD Lang, Shania Twain, Alanis Morisette, Celine Dion, Avril Lavigne, Deryck Whibley of Sum 41, Pierre Bouvier of Simple Plan, Chad Kroeger of Nickelback, Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Michael Buble, and Abel Tesfaye aka the Weekend. Also, big name Canadian actors and Comedians ought to join the chorus such as Dan Aykroyd, Jim Carrey, Martin Short, Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Dave Thomas, Rick Moranis, Joshua Jackson and Elliot Page. They should all do a brand new version of Northern Lights Tears Are Not Enough.
@PhilPhotography2005 I also forgot to mention William Shatner and Ryan Gosling since they're Canadian too! I would like to see Michael J. Fox in there as well but I honestly don't know if his Parkinson's condition has him still able to sing or not. Of course I want to give Kudos to him too since he's also a fellow Canadian!
There is this version from the 2022 Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZqFgJt5Tlpw.htmlsi=uPB8-2frfIbFL0dq
Not really true at this point. Artists like Platinum Blonde didn't make much of a dent internationally. Corey Hart got overplayed in Canada, he had like 3x more top-40 singles in Canada than the USA.
Michelle's Favourite one mighty fine job know most of these Artists and the Choir has some awesome actors also like John and Eugene.Endless words to describe 1985 the heart of the 80s list is also endless the charity the World was doin starting from Band Aid to USA For Africa to this dont forget Live Aid aswell plus Artists Against Apartheid and Hear n Aid so many gatherings of Artists in one Song. But cool classy Canada did well with this so blessed and part of the greatest decade of all time never to forget miss it so much oh hail 80s
And many of those other massive fundraising groups for charity all amazing gosh it's great love go back in spirit and relive and do it again and live on forever the 80s nothing comes close in history
David Foster made this song too sappy in my opinion .Damn though, Geddy Lee Burton Cummings, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Bruce Coburn and so many Canadians that you didn’t know were Canadian made this so cool!
Come on people ...where are you now for Gaza and the Palestinians? Time again to support humanity. University students are putting what little they have on the line. Where are our famous artists?
Canada needs to get back to this way of thinking. Our politics has become so divisive that we use aid to foreign countries as a political tool to get power.
This hasn't aged well unlike Band Aids " Do they know its Christmas " and being a fan of both Joni Mitchell and Neil Young I'm suprised they would want to associate themselves with this awful effort. Joni later wrote a far more inspiring composition regarding the Euthopian famine, simply called " Euthopia".
I read in a Canadian pop culture book recently that this was ranked #11 for WORST canadian single ever because it wasn't popular/listenable a decade later. I'm not sure how accurate that actually is, but I disagree with that 🎧🎤🎸🎹👏
