Both my Son Max and I have been using the Tech Air Race with good results. He has had 8 deployments in three years to my 1. His has not went off in every crash but reviewing the crash I would say it did not need to deploy the times it did not. Neither of us were injured in any of the crashes. There are a lot of variables involved from the algorithm that calls for the deployment to the battery being charged. Also important to note no product is perfect. We import RST and the plan is to have the airbag suits here in the spring as the legal issues have been sorted. - Van

Each airbag manufacturer seems to have a different philosophy on what's the best coverage. I like the A* design but I can't get any of their airbags in Central Asia - I've even got a Missile Tech-Air jacket. Even if I could get one (there are ways), servicing after a deployment would be a nightmare. The only airbag vests available to be shipped abroad seem to be Helite which focuses on thorax protection, the zone with the most potential for serious injuries. Racers on a closed circuit are more likely to go down more often on the side so shoulder protection is needed often. Maybe street riders have more head-on collisions with hard stuff at lower speeds, so a bigger bladder should be more beneficial. In the end, I had no choice except the Helite, purely for shipping overseas. Nobody else would sell airbags to me.

IMO the Alpinestars airbag vests are the best option on the market at this time. - Van

While I am sure that is not impossible all of our experience with the Alpinestars Tech Air products has been very positive. From using this in my Son Max's MotoAmerica program, both of us using it at track days and being one of the largest retailers for them in the world we have heard hundreds of positives for any negative. Max has a total of 8 deployments over 3 years and it has protected him very well. - Van

The race version can deploy twice before needing service which is nice when you are racing. Both of the vests are super protective IMO with very little difference (if any) in protection. We have two of the race models and will continue to use them until something better comes along. - Van

100% you can use this on the track or the street now. Alpinestars released an update earlier this spring. - Van
