The skip prologue doesn’t even skip the prologue it only skips half of it up untill hakon takes you into his workshop which means you still have to play 30 mins till you unlock the open world. The cutscene is great they could’ve of just had it include the whole prologue tho

Dying Light 2 died when Techland treated it as a Live Service instead of one big content heavy package. Ah yes, let's make a predominantly single-player game in similar vein to most free to play multi-player games. I wanted a successor to Dying Light 1. I wanted Dying Light 2. Not Destiny Light 2.

The worst part is it speaks volumes to what 343 Industries had said about Halo Infinite a while ago. “A live service game.” By live service they meant wasting workforce through shitty cosmetics, not implementing gameplay mechanics or catering to campaign players with DLCs. Lmao bro it isn't even that bad, this is a pve game, you get nothing from anything you buy anyways but the ability to look cool. "Oh there's a power weapon and knives" cry more you don't need it lmao. Games cost a lot more to make, they need to make a lot more money to continue producing, gamers are just depressed horny losers looking to be offended about something so they continue to cry. Assassins creed has way worse micro transactions and guess what. You don't need to buy anything from the helix store. dying light 1 and the dead island series were some of the best games I had ever played as a kid. I loved boxer mode in dead island 1, I think I had 650 hours in it over the years

The worst part of everything is that the developers (grunts) are the ones getting all the flak from poor executive decisions. I'm 100% sure there is likely a part of techland that opposed this predatory system, but got completely washed over. When you want to hit a corporation, you got to hit them where it counts, it's money. I know a lot of people joke about this, but it's genuinely sad to see a game that I have spent so much time on devolve into this soulless disaster. Your videos are awesome man, and honestly I think it's better to get off this sinking ship and do some other content anyway. Saddens me to say it but techland is done for, this update and the trajectory of the game has singlehandedly killed all my interest for their DLCs, or their new games.

They were doing so good until they started this stuff. Basically when the walking dead event started the game went downhill. I never would have expected them to mess up the game but they did. This is really unfortunate. What happened to the techland that cared about us? They used to listen to us and help us if we had any complaints and never had pay to win content. I saw techland as the least corrupt game developer ever period but now I don’t think there is one like that anymore. All AAA game devs are just corrupt and only care about the money and not your experience or any of that. They don’t even care if they ruin the game.

@@Uknown76 i agree, the points idea is a bit of a dick move. but, the motherfucker still acted like this was entirely unprecedented and somehow ruined the game... when dl1 did the same thing, and it's very much optional. if they retweak weapon drops so you HAVE to buy a bundle, different story. but offering something, isn't 'bending you over and fucking you' - especially for cosmetic shit like overwatch and fortnite, two of his 'big' examples.

I am so sad to see what is happening with Techland... I've been supporting them for so many years since the first DL came out. I feel so disappointed. Doing an ingame shop with a game that is 50euros worth is horrendous. I've never felt so happy to see how great they were listening to the community and all. I loved everything they've made like the streams ingame event all those improvement and the constant updates. And now i just feel so sad. Everything was so perfect about the first one and i like the second one despite few things. Since Tencent came everything just got smashed. Bro i even preordered the Collector's Edition when it came out (which was 210euros for nothing i was kinda disappointed tho)/ I really hope that things will get better it would have been such of waste of potential

I think that talking about what's wrong with gaming nowadays will be great. Also I really liked how you mentioned 3 games which care for the players, instead of CEO's pockets. I think a big thing to note is that When I played the first Dying light, I spent roughly 2/3 of my total playtime (almost 480 hours since launch) just jumping around, killing zombies and generally having aimless fun in the world. (the other 1/3 doing story stuff and missions) I'd consider the aimless fun to be the best part. Dying light 2 on the other hand, I did the story once shortly after launch, messed around for about 1/4 of the total playtime and then just stopped playing. I came back for bloody ties but I haven't touched the game since. Dying light 2 just missed on capturing the goofy magic that made the first one so fun to replay. After hearing this, it's sad that the game has fallen so far. But at least we'll always have DL1 to look back on.

Very valid statements, majority of games do have unfortunately the main developers having to suffer on higher-ups decisions. This is basically the reason to underperforming development teams. Techland has a chance to BE SMART and reverse the shop as to where it never intends to be IN THE GAME. But fortunate enough to hear its from techland and not tencent, they have authority to remove it themselves. If they provided 550 to buy an interesting bundle, that would be okay. But they didn't.

I will stick around with onizombies and I respect that he's going to be doing new content because I've been watching for a few years now and this techland situation is ridiculous and I respect the decision as a content creator to move on from it and do other content for everyone reading. I’ve been with tech land since dead island riptide (was definitely too young to play it) and I got hundreds of hours outta dying light 1. I got dying light 2 launch day and put it down after 5 hours and hadn’t touched it since. While I stopped caring about DL2 a while ago, it’s still heartbreaking to see what it’s become

They did fall. The DL points couldn't be a big enough wake up call to that. I've been noticing it since they started selling the cosmetics during events at expensive prices, it was inevitable that it would get worse.

DL1 did the same shit - points shop is more aggrevious, admittedly. but techland made DL1 a place with dozens of 'packages' just like this, and i don't recall people whining out of their asses about it constantly. don't fucking buy the shit if you don't want to. done. until they're locking like, 5 hour long quest lines behind it, i don't care - oh wait, it's just normal dlc, that's right...

People had their gripes with the MTXs back then too and unlike DL2, DL1 had so many cool earnable loot and cosmetics that you didn't need those bundles period. Not here to defend DL1 but since we're comparing here...

Thank you for your video. I loved techland after the first dying light. Dying light 2 just doesn't feel like it was made with as much love. And with Tencent now involved, my heart breaks for this franchise. I'll continue to push for maximum completion of every bit of content this game has, that I already paid for.. but I feel alienated and hurt by this company. If this is the way dying light will continue to go, then I want nothing to do with the franchise after this.
