Retired High stress NG welder for 33 years. I wish youtube was around in the 1980s. One time at requals in Pico Rivera I asked a old time big inch welder what the hell is the secret. He said I don't know I learn more everyday. Watch and take the good from any fellow welder on the job. I did it. If you watcher are thinking about this life do the same. Thanks for the real world vid Sir!!!!
Wally, thank you for uploading these videos. They’re very informative for a person like me who’s trying to learn downhill. It’s hard to get someone that has time that can come around to teach me. But these videos give me such an idea of what to look for. The fact that you take the time out of your your day to demonstrate to us is awesome. Wish you many blessings.. Guys like myself look up to you!
Thank you buddy for the video on Joy tit I've watched you a couple of the times from your truck. I'm a retired pipeliner Iran gas pains in oilfield for over 40 years I'm 67 years old now I still have my rig I'm from Houston but I work and live in the Carolinas now really good people up here. I've lost the sight in my left eye so I'm not able to make my code Wells anymore like I used to but I still will down the scrap iron in the tractors and heavy equipment with no problems. Like I said I enjoy watching your video and explaining in detail and that's the same way I would do with my experience trying to pass it on to a younger crowd or even an experienced welder that may not have been around enough to see a lot of different techniques things that are done as far as welding and fabricating and fitting. So you take care of yourself looks like it's been cold out there I didn't know if you preheated your pipe or not before you made your way out I saw your feet up and everything with your line up clamps and I was impressed with it but if the pipe was cold it would probably pull a bunch of that heat out on your first bead and might make it a little bit brittle but you probably it probably was warm enough already but take care of yourself thanks again for letting us supposed back on your video. Mark's got a k a t e x x North Carolina
@@TheWeldProfessor just read the feedback partner. You take care of yourself out there on the road. Be as safe as you can so you can keep doing the good work. There's so much more welding to be done other than pipeline work I could tell some stories about guys I've met over the years the never welded one piece of pipe but they have welded everything else. I'll tell some of my old friends that I've worked on and Welding on everything from BBQ Pits to rocket ships. I worked at Nasa complex in Cocoa Beach at one time for a crew doing some utility work up there. And I was a welding inspector free gas company in Florida the cupboard from Palm Beach County all the way up to Cocoa Beach where the Cape is. So I had access to all the gas pains in that area. I won't go on and on but just wanted to let you know thanks for the return comments. Mark Scott

Badass video all the good tips they you need you covered liked how you explained how not to leave a big key hole when you bust off on the root good job bro
Nice. That’s all about getting it done. No beauty contest. FLEXING that rod into that root. That’s in there good. Still, really good looking welds. “It might not be the absolute prettiest weld ever, but that roll of franklins in my pocket is sure sexy” 😎
Everything is explained very clearly. Thanks for taking the time to stop and show every step and detail. Much power to you brother. Love that aztec calendar hood. New subscriber here!😎
Well I’m not made of money and I’m kinda just starting I’m 16 btw. I asked for the prime weld tig225x. A few other guys I watch on RU-vid recommend it. It’s a 900 dollar tig with every setting you’d need and comes w a ck torch
@@conorfrancis222 nice man. I haven't heard anything bad about that machine. I just picked one up myself for a lil stainless and aluminum job it's a Ahp welding systems alpha tig201xd for 720. I'm happy with it. Even got the pulse setting that iv always wanted to try.
Greetings from Russia, I'm also a welder, I have a question, why do you cook from top to bottom? We weld the pipe from bottom to top with OK 53.70 ESAB electrodes
Looks a little bit more like loose change than stacked dimes 😆. Just teasing of course. Real slick my man , it ain’t easy making them look that pretty . 👍
Ruthless...I am gonna bust that on my friend. Never heard that. I always told him it looks like bubble gum and bird shit. But with mig, thats a whole new kinda birds nest.
Thank you for taking your time and teaching and giving tips for new guys specially. Takes time and effort. Just curios you dont have to heat the pipe before welding.
