The guy at 2:40, bahah I've never seen such nonchalant care for others who are mid rally. Great review, was wondering about this one. About to go demo the VCore HD and the Blade v7
Love this racquet and def better than my blade cv 16x19 after testing out my friend’s tf 40 305. The 18x20 string pattern in this still has great spin for me and control w/ comfortable power levels! Love the more even balance and like you mentioned, I don’t think this needs to be customized at all!
Haha....I liked the way you guys continued the point when the guy from the next door court came across to collect his ball. I thought play 2. 👻 Great review, this racquet isn't for me, but I did like the xtc 315 ltd. 22 mm beam is just too wide for me now. Even though it's not real wide, my thinner beam preference 19-20 mm makes 22mm feel clunky/sluggish. Been hitting with the yonex 97 pro hd past few days (only), very impressive. I've not bought it yet, but assume I will. Weight and balance feel sublime and it's surprisingly powerful. The 18-20 string pattern not overly tight and I've played mostly 16/19 for years now, with the exception of some 16/20. Cheers Jonas & I really like seeing the different courts over there. I'm a bit envious of the clay. Hardcourt gets rather tiresome/boring; some clay would really mix things up!
Great review, Jonas, and your comparisons to other popular racquets really helps us to have a good idea of how this racquet might play and feel; and, this one sounds like a real winner!
Amazing racquet, just tried mine (the 305, w Techni Ice Code 17 /1.25 at 52 pounds) today. Excellent stable volley, lots of control & consistent serves. Took about 30 mins to adjust my ground strokes & backhand due to smaller head size after switching from a 100 sq inch Head Youtek Graphene Speed Pro. Very impressed so far. Thanks for the in depth review Jonas, very helpful infos to help me decide on it 👍🏻 For those who want a tweener with excellent control & good power (good comfort too), it’s a great option to consider!
Pure drive is much stiffer. It gives you more power but less control. I personally suggest that your final options should be the TF40 or the Pure strike, which as relatively similar.
Just hit with the TF40 315 for the first time today. Really nice crisp feel on ball impact and feels very much like a modern frame with great control (as opposed to older more solid feeling, traditional Prestiges and Radicals). Usually I prefer more open string patterns, but this one seems to be work me anyway. I hear though that a new TF40 will be coming out soon with a 16x19 pattern.
How would you compare this racquet to the RF97 autograph? I know they are pretty different but I just got one of these and use to use the RF97 and idk which one I like better.
I mean idk man, if you’re already using a racquet from 1,000 years in the future I’m guessing that technology is much better than what they have nowadays. So I’d stick with that
Thx for this review. How would you compare this frame with the Prince Textreme Tour 100 that you reviewed a while ago and that you seemed to like a lot ? Thx !
Another great video, Jonas! I am a huge fan. Based on your reviews, I demo'd many of the control racquets you recently reviews and decided to purchase the Head Gravity Pro. I do not bother watching Tennis Warehouse or Tennis Express anymore. So I thank you. Out of all of the control racquets that you have reviewed in the last few years, how would you rank the control racquets based on touch, comfort, power, precision, etc.?
Thanks again Jonas thinking of getting a second one but not sure whether to get the XTC version if I get another it will be this as I have Pure Aero 98 which has a similar string pattern to XTC 305 and is stiffer like the Aero VS. I have TF strung with Triax came with racquet seems to suit it. Like you honed in on 98’s as 100 not good for my one handed backhanded and doesn’t encourage developing my strokes as much.
Hi. I want your recomendación for string press 98 tf40 305 with poly ay principal UC Weiss Cannon AND gamma s.gut at seconds. ITS new raquet. AND I never use hybrid. Your recomendación Is less than 50...49 at UC principal AND 53 s/gut???. Thanks all.
Hello, in Chile it is cybermonday and this racket is with a 50% discount (crazy haha), but I have some doubts. I have not tested this model, but from what I have seen it is a racket that generates very little power. My question is: if I use a tension under 20 kg (18 or 19 kg) , can I achieve a power similar to a racket of 98 in2 16x19 pattern (a 16x19 blade or 300 16x19 xtc for example)? Another purchase option is the xtc of 300 gr. I used a 300 gr tflash but it generates too much power and is very rigid(I look for more control and better sensations). Is the power difference between the xtc and the tf40 a lot? What would you recommend me? A tf40 under 20 kg of tension or the xtc of 300 kg ?. I am a 4.0 ntpr player Thanks for the videos! Greetings from Chile
Tennisnerd I was in my local tennis shop and checked out the 16x19. Looking forward to your take on it before buying. There s unfortunately no demo option where I am.
Hi, Sorry, I ment the Tecnifibre TF40 I looked at the specs and the stiffness is mentioned as 69. But I have learned from your videos that the mentioned stiffness doesn’t tell the whole story of how arm friendly a racket is.
I don’t think I will - it is very similar to the 305 with a different weight/balance that I customized with the 305. Nice frame! Will review the new Tfight RS soon
@@Tennisnerd did you find the T40 305 jarring to your arm on off center hits? I am looking for a bit more stable frame but concerned that the T40 305 maybe to firm for my arm as I have some shoulder and minor elbow issues. What are your thoughts? Thanks!
I just bought the Technifibre T40 305 and I have to say its the premier racquet of the year. I thought the firm feel was going to be a problem for my shoulder but I was pleasantly surprised! Definitely a better all around racquet then the new Blade line IMO and a classic! I might be making the switch from the new Blade!!!
Ken Harris hi, I am reading about the T40 305 , Wilson Blade v7 18x20 and the Head Speed 360 pro , which one is you opinion about the blade vs the T40 305?
@@arqpilier Hi Escarly. I played with the new Blade 98 16 x 19 v7 but not the 18 x 20. The 18 x 20 has a little more swing weight and control over the 16 x 19. The Blade line has a softer and more muted feel from T 40 305 which is a bit firmer and crisp feeling. The T40 305 has much better control, stability and power in my opinion as well as good comfort. If you are a hard hitting player and like to slice off the backhand, you will enjoy the T40 305. The sweet spot with T40 305 is absolutely amazing!
After the past year of two of testing racquets, I think I've finally landed on what works for me: the Prince 93P with the 18x20 pattern. It just lets me do many, many things. Only thing modest on it is this: the serve I have with it is only average-paced: would be nice to have more free service winners----but, then again, a stiffer frame means I hit other shots long.
