I switched to this racket. LOVE IT. It reminds me of a little more powerful and firm Blade. Still flexy, and a very unique feel.

I think you should have a category of racquets that you call “switchable” or something along those lines. Almost like a “certified fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes but “switchable” or another word for it that’s better can be your stamp of approval for a racquet being top of the line or something you could switch to as is or with little customization. Just food for thought!

Great review Jonas and agree with everything you mention. Played a couple of sets with this now, brilliant frame. Switched from a Prince Textreme Tour 100 as wanted something a tad more manoeuvrable (305g vs 310g and lower SW compared to the Prince). This is as solid / stable on impact with a similarly large sweet spot. Has a bit more feel and comfort due to slightly lower stiffness, and faster to swing through the air. Rewards fast strokes with heavy and penetrating shots, otherwise sometimes the ball can land a little short. Strung with Yonex PT Strike at 52lbs. Would love Technifibre to do a black or dark grey version of the cosmetic!

Hi Jonas thanks for the review. My question is which of the TF40 would you recommend to aggressive baseliner? The thing is that the 305 versions have higher swingweight and even though i like heavier rackets the 315 has very low swighweight so its very difficult to choose based on the specs without comparing them side by side. Looking forward to your reply.

Hi Jonas, all, this is now my favourite racket after dropping it at first because the lack of free power. Due to an injury i got back to playing multifilaments and i restrung this one with NGR2. COMPLETELY different racket now. More power but still enough control, great on serves, and amazing feel. It is my current favourite by far! Lets not forget multis are sometimes a great alternative because i might have sold this one if i had not gotten injured...

I dont know your level/age/size, but I use the Blade 16x19 V8 with lead at 3/9 and have it counterbalanced with some lead in the handle and a leather grip and it’s second to none IMO. I’m actually about to try in an hour this racquet (Tecnifibre) in the 16/19 version and 18/20, demos I got from TE. I’ll let you know how it compares to the Blades!

@@Mewborne89please compare the type of frame, as in blade is more of an attacking frame, but you can get unstuck from a corner. however, the old tf40 18x20 was more of a grinders' frame, for holding the ball in play, blocking and counterpunching etc.

Will you do a video with the 18x20 pattern and compare it to the old tf40. Also is the spin potential / launch angle so much more in the 16x19 version ? Can you get the same with the 18x20 by just using a spin friendly string like the hyper g and have it on a lower tension ? Thereby having still the control of the 18x20 but with more spin and higher launch angle ?
@tomr1056
@tomr1056 2 года назад
I played the 18x20 for a while and it was a good racket for me but I just couldn't get used to thet 18x20 low launch angle and even though I had high spin strings on it (Luxilon ALU Power Rough) it was still lower spin than the 16x19 version. You can't have everything but this racket for me is the best all rounder I've found. If you want to buy a good quality 305 18x20 I can sell mine...

Thanks Jonas for the video. Random question, what’s the quality of the paint? As brilliant as the original was to play with the paint job left a lot to be desired. Started chipping almost immediately, unfortunately detracting from what is quite a sharp looking stick. Racquet that plays that well didn’t deserve what appeared to be such a cheap paint option.

I would say they are about the same, the string choice will be the most important factor. The lower SW of the 315 should help you not be late on the ball, which is better to avoid tennis elbow.

How do you plan on counterweighting this stick? I heard that Tecnifibre buttcaps don’t open, leaving a leather grip I guess as the only option? (This doesn’t really work for me as I suffer from a disease called got-my-mom’s-hands syndrome so I the smallest grip possible). Thanks!
@dave.lukas90
@dave.lukas90 2 года назад
If you would go through the trouble of changing the grip, you can just invest some extra minutes to take of the staples and remove the buttcap. stratch out some of the foam filling and fill the handle with silicon.
@Mewborne89
@Mewborne89 2 года назад
Just add lead to the handle under the replacement grip toward the end of the handle. Just wrap it around and it’s the same as throwing some putty in the buttcap.

I finally was able to hit with my new TF40 and absolutely love it. It's the 16x19 305 with Black Code strings at 48. I am going to restring my tfight 305s with the same strings and compare them, that 18x19 string pattern is interesting.

@RobBlanzy
@RobBlanzy 2 года назад
@@hameedn.b7004 I restrung the tflights and while this significantly improved the experience, I much prefer hitting with the T40. It has more power and stabillity, though both are very stable, and in some ways better control The control factor might be due to me hitting with heavier amounts of spin and feeling I can move the stick around easier and place where I want. Had I never experienced the T40, I would be happy with the tflights and new strings. In all honesty, I really love the T40, I have been hitting 4-5 times per week and the honeymoon phase is over. Serving also feels bigger with the T40.
