I know he wanted to confess to more murders just before his execution but that was just a ploy to buy him more time. He was terrified of dying, with good reason, and would have done anything to get another stay. He had from 1978 until 1988 to at least bring some kind of closure to all the families who just never saw their daughters again but he didn’t. Only in January 1989, days before his execution, did he want to divulge more details of other victims. The man was sick in the head.
Wonder how many unsolved cases there are in any of the states Bundy lived in or visited since some people claim he might be responsible for 100+ people. Pretty sure someone reported these people missing? Or did these 100+ women disappear unnoticed?
He started killing way before 1974, that's just the time his journey started to be documented, before that we can't know for sure what he was on about. Detectives who worked on and studied his case estimate over 100 murders. Bundy was a serial killer that left no clues whatsoever, he was almost perfect because he lured his victims and they went with him willingly, he didn't act aggressive until they were absolutely alone, that's why everyone pictured him as a good guy, even when he was luring his victims he made it look like a casual interaction, his looks and charisma helped with that a lot. The only way for him to leave clues is when he acted too much on impulse, when his fantasies were on edge and he felt pressured by external factors like something happening in his life that was preventing him from acting out his fantasies freely. 30 murders is far from being the correct number of Ted Bundy's victims.
@@deviousraul...I agree with you, good comment. But, he definitely got sloppy. Also, he would have never gotten away with so much, if it were 2024. Back then, it was not as sophisticated. His behavior was quite radical, and people were not as suspicious, as they are today.
In nearly all the documentaries I’ve seen about Ted Bundy he is described as being “handsome, charming, intelligent”….. Having never had the misfortune of meeting the man, I can’t comment on his charm or intelligence but the “handsome” bit I just don’t get. I can never get past his eyes. He has the most dark, evil, soulless eyes I have ever seen. Even when he’s smiling or laughing, those eyes are downright scary. I can’t for the life of me understand why so many young women at the time became like Ted Bundy groupies, going to his trial and writing to him in prison on the sole ground of him being “handsome”….. The man was an evil psychopath and there was nothing handsome about him IMO of course.
His comment there hits hard given that Kimberly was one of the two youngest victims and suffered horrific wounds before she died. I would hate to think what would be disturbing to a depraved psychopath like Bundy.
He was soooo shy about talking about his little-girl murders. It's even more fascinating to read Molly "Kendall's" addtional chapter in the re-release of MY PHANTOM PRINCE, where we learning that Kimberly and Molly were about the same age, and Molly was even more shaken, decades later, that THIS could have been her since Ted had at least one near-murderous encounter (an attempted drowning) against Molly. Fortunately, Mom Liz kept Ted away from she and Molly after that. I thought Ted's "shyness" about his young-girl murders was his tacit acknowledgement that these were shocking even to him, even in retrospect. I think it was almost impossible for him to admit he was killing little girls. "Yes, I cannot admit this even to myself." By the way, these audio tapes were done long after he's told Wife Carole Ann Boone about his killings, and after he'd told his mom, Louise about them.
Ted thinking about himself right till the end..No remorse for his many victims; with his comment it's not disturbing to me with my many convictions. To him it was simply another. Evil personified

I like that he can talk to police all he wants to. They were recognizing his rights to speech and let him do it in such a way that would only further incriminate himself.
People often talk about how many murders did he end up with. After everything I've read over the last 5 years I believe the number to be 39. Which means they did not start in 1974. Even by his own admission there's a video on RU-vid where he mentions 1973, that comment is not talked about nearly as much as it should be. Based on the facts and the evidence I am holding Ted accountable for his first killing at age 15 when he killed an eight or nine year old neighbor. The way she was killed is eerily similar to his other murders and the perpetrator was never caught. So based on missing persons in areas that he lived and the ones that we know about the highest the number could go is 40 but I believe it's 39. Another four or five got extremely lucky and the Lord was with them one of which is Carol and of course the 3 that survived the night from hell (Chi Omega night) in which five were beaten and three survived.
Douglas, the cops think it may be as many as one hundred or more. You're going by the ones in which Bundy involvement was not unlikely, but as Stephen Michaud wrote, it's certain that Ted did not tell everything or maybe even most things.
@@bobtaylor170 the same cops that allowed him to escape twice. I've seen the videos and read articles where they claim the number could be as many as 100, nope the numbers just don't add up.
Thank you for mentioning Ann Marie Burr , the neighbor child. I grew up within two miles of the Burr family. I was around five years old when she was murdered. Her story is tragic , and she is often forgotten in the Teds wave of terror. Of course , Ted never confessed to her murder , but he was known to the Burr family . Ann had interacted with Ted on more then one occasion.

I read Ann Rule"s book in 1980 and that was my first exposure to your story. I subscribed to your RU-vid page a year or so ago and have been keeping up. @jamielehman4934 he was pathetic. Like all serial killers are. The fact that there r documentaries etc have nth to do with that. It is because of this distorted idea of yours that people see it as glamourizing or that they r some sort of celebrity
Bundy made a huge mistake divulging all he did in those last 4 days. He should have held out for an all or nothing deal with the Gov. The pressure would have been enormous on the Gov. to delay the execution at least a few months by missing loved one's families + some found one's also wanting to know the circumstances for closure + if Bundy was not as forthcoming as agreed the gov. could step in and set a new date within hours or days of that moment that way if everything went well most all of bundy's victims could have been identified with locations ect. from the east to the west coast + him paying the ultimate price also but a few months later anyway but bundy let the steam out of that pressure cooker by giving up around 30 victims in those 4 days and some stories behind the abductions also which took away his only clout. Of course far and away the biggest mistake bundy made was not excepting that deal of a lifetime save his life deal just before his July 1979 trial in miami. How bundy did that was beyond comprehension. If i would have had 15 min. with bundy after he changed his mind i would have told him even if by some miracle you beat both murder convictions in Florida + the 1 in colorado all of these states + others are going to throw the phonebook sized book at you for every last law broken like prison escapes, stolen cars, car registration fraud in Utah, break + enter, stolen property including countless credit cards + using them also along with the very serious offence of fleeing and assaulting a patrol officer in Pensacola + more i am sure so to gaur. you would spend the rest of your life in prison ANYWAY going from state to state to serve them out + i would have had an itemized list of offences with max. penalties for all that he would have got for sure.....so for a pretty smart guy familiar with the law it is incomprehensible he did not stick with that save his life agreement before changing his mind as he had NOTHING to gain going trial + EVERYTHING to lose.
