Street Fighter X Tekken - Characters Moves Comparison, this crossover game has done a great job recreating Tekken animation. Some of Tekken 8 new hit effect is also inspired by SF X TK
It's honestly such a massive shame Street Fighter X Tekken got the controversy it did. In terms of actual effort, the game was solid and a ton of fun to play. It was just ruined by the horrible implementation of the gems and of course the On-Disk DLC. If I'm being honest; I wish they'd at least re-release it on PC because by now all the outrage has died down and it could be a good way to re-energize interest.
@@Harveeee I got a used PS3 for like 100 bucks and I installed all these games from the weird time nothing got PC ports. Tekken 6, Tag 2, SoulCalibur IV and V and a bunch of mecha games. Pretty cool and I can play it when PC renders something.
I like the snappiness of the Capcom animation, not going to lie. Given the 2d style, they clearly felt more at liberty to embellish the movements with hit stop and effects.
I hate the hit stop and jerky 2D animations that are like 6 frames and 3 frames get cut by rollback, so online they look even worse. But it's cool to see Tekken in 2D.
Street Fighter X Tekken was actually my first Street Fighter game. Although, back then I had no idea what Street Fighter or Tekken was, but I still thought it was fun. I wish they would release this game on Steam with all the DLC characters, and at least Megaman and Pacman.
This was my first SF game, too!! Being a long-time Tekken fan made it fun to see the characters in SF style while also giving SF a try 😊 Ugh, there's so many many memories in this game 😭 I hope they bring it to PS4...
Kinda late to the party, but the game IS on Steam, I believe. But, no DLCs, and the game is basically defunct, since Games For Windows Live(damned be it name) is not working anymore, so, no online play. You can however, ahem, "obtain" DLCs through certain methods, but, uh, I didn't say that. A shame that nor Tekken 8 nor SF6 don't feature SFxT soundtrack. It's one hell of a banger.
I gotta say, SF x TK's VFX & Sound Design is incredibly underrated. Looking at this comparison, you can actually feel the hits being dished out. I like how some moves are represented in Tekken, but there's just something about the exaggerated landing of each blow that makes it so satisfying
@@bulthaosen1169 akuma was enough sir... Tekken never was big on guest characters. T7 really changed the way we OGs play tekken. I feel like porting into capcom was a natural thing for SF. Namco barely got it right with soul calibur and the guests changed with the platform
It's the same as having Akuma in Tekken canon and the existence of Eliza. Harada is just making up for the cancelled Tekken x SF that was supposed to follow SFxT.
Yo, Tekken X Street Fighter with the Heat and Rage systems implemented would go absolutely crazy. I also wouldn't mind seeing what the Tekken characters would look like in the RE Engine
This made me realize how much T7 had a low budget. Some animations are just...wow, they look like they belong in a fan-game (Nina and Marduk in mind). Props to Harada for convincing Namco to allow his team the budget Tekken deserves.
Tekken 7 was strange in general. I liked the story mode but why individual character stories are one-stage-long? Add them to the end of arcade/story mode like all previous games did!
@@KasumiRINA It's mostly because Tekken 7 was a very very low budget arcade game. They really didn't have much to work with because of Tekken Tag 2's poor sales. On the other hand you can see them doing a lot more work now with Tekken 8 though I do wish they would stop with the excessive camera angle changes during gameplay in T8. Makes me a little nauseous.
What amazes me is that Tekken characters have more personality in Street Fighter than Tekken 7 Somehow they feel so soulless in Tekken games especially in Tekken 7, just look at Jin, He once fixed his glove and said "coy" in Tekken 4 and Namco used that animation and voice in almost any Tekken that came after, what's worse? That's not the only reused assets from older Tekken games in Tekken 7 Finally they're putting efforts in Tekken 8
Honestly, I do like how in SFxTK the moves have that "Capcom" twist to them with the effects and the more stylized/cartoony animations. Not saying that they look 100% better or that the originals look stiff by comparison, but I just wanted to point that out.
SFxT was actually mad fun. It was an amazing tag system for a Street Fighter game and the various win quotes offered more personality to each character more than ever. Not to mention, i will die on this hill saying SFxT had the best trailers of any fighting game in history
They did such a great job with the Tekken characters in a modified SF4 engine, they were the most fun characters ever and I'm not that big of a Tekken fan. Imagine making a sequel with the SF6 and TK8 cast. RE Engine models for the Tekken cast.
Interesting. Tekken makes attacks more dynamic in the form of versatile camera angles. SFxT make attacks more hurtful in the form of adding detailed particles and extra effects.
Suggestions: SF vs TK Akuma animation comparison, or KOF vs TK Geese animation comparison, or expand this video with more examples like standing stance animations, more throw animations, etc.
There seems to be a lot more style and snap in the Capcom version, which works well for most of the animations. It's like they're doing cool poses rather than an animation per se.
It is amazing how some of the sfxt animations looks WAY better than tekken 7's ones... Don't het me wrong, tekken's animation looks not bad, but capcom like putted a way more impact in some moves.
2 things i did not like about sfxt was the visuals and that hackers had the dlc characters on release before any of it was revealed. Other than that game was fun asf. I hope in another 10 years we get the sfxt project that harada had to put on hold🙏
Street Fighter x Tekken was a great game after the update. Just sucks that it’s stuck in the 7th console generation. Since it did poorly in sales. Doubt we’ll ever see rereleased.
Great content bro definetely not an easy choice since i'm a 2D fan but if we talked about Tekken i think i'm going to choose 3D I think some games are better in 2D and others in 3D Hard made a comparison
Both are great. Though if Capcom had animated the Tekken cast’s attacks in SF3 or even CVS style I’d go for 2D without hesitation. Still prefer how a lot of these look in SFXTK.
The way Marduk pounces at 1:49 reminds me so much of Gado's pounce from Bloody Roar, I 100% expected him to rip his opponent's throat out with his teeth.
The only thing i've noticed are the lack of ANY visual feedback and effects when you make a move. Almost every moves in Tekken while literally identically the same,They all just look normal besides Ironically...Akuma. Meanwhile in SFxT,They all look mighty satisfying to pull off,Especially Law's Punches and Nina's Grab... Which makes me all the more happier to see Tekken 8 improving where they added the Visual Feedbacks and Effects i've been talking about.
You should do these for all the characters on a per-movelist basis! Would be great to see how different moves translated between Tekken and how Capcom translated them into SFxT.
This game would've been great if they didn't have those stupid P2W gems that were overpriced and needed to play the game... They also didn't translate the Tekken characters that well. Only Tekken character I like in this game is Bryan, since he is given more personality here.
You don’t need gems to play the game. They were always optional. You can turn them off in settings, and were even banned in most tournaments eventually from their BS nature.
The SFxTK devs werent good in converting TK chars. Ok, it's a very different game than SF. But then the TK7 devs were good in converting Akuma to TK. He looks and moves very nicely. That shows an undeniable difference of ability between both teams. Also TK devs are able to convert Capcom and SNK chars better than how each company converted their rival chars in CvS and SvC. Nowadays TK devs are the masters of crossover in the sense of that "conversion" ability. At least for now before we see a guest char in SF6 in KOF 15.
@@carlosaugusto9821 thats debatable. Some Tekken players still don’t like dealing with 2D characters due to having tools the rest of the cast doesn’t have, or the tools to counter them properly. I personally like how all of the companies handled crossovers, i just wish we had more.
The only Tekken character in the game who felt the same as they did in Tekken was Jin. The rest...there were move similiarities but they just felt completely different.
