Doctor/dentist, lawyer, computer science/science/engineer, business are preferred for me. But my parents are willing to support my for anything except the arts. But they already know I won’t pursue anything that doesn’t lead to a good stable future ;-;
@@justsomeguywithglasses9918 im asian i can confirm that those lines are very common parents say to child. Btw its always funny for me that non-asians find it unrealistic but it is happening all the time 💀
Yes, sadly this does happen. I remember Hoshi of Seventeen telling the story of how his mother told him that he wasn’t handsome, so he would never make it in Kpop. But he recently gifted her his old childhood home that they had to move out of when he was little because they couldn’t afford it anymore. Yep, just found out who was currently living in it, offered to buy it from them, then took his mom there and dropped the keys in her hand and said, “It’s yours again, Mom”. I would love to have been there to see the look on her face, lol! I hope the same happens for you one day, Josh. Keep making these funny videos, and I’m sure it will😊.
yeah same. idk why but asian parents don't want to support their kids dreams when it's not those sterotypical jobs. even in kpop you hear idols talking about their parents not supporting them at first cause it's not a stable job to have and has an uncertain future.
We really do get hurt sometimes but we are quite accostumed to this and if they act like the western parents like you can do whatever you want then it won't be like they are our parents and we don't want them to be like that so..
@@hatake_kakashi9658 Soooo true. Latino parents are very similar. The words sting but there's no way I would want to be raised by "anything is allowed" parents or parents who try to be their kid's buddy before being their parent.
if someone thinks that this vid is funny pls do come to visit asia and see how asian parents raise their kids and then boredom will just vanish from their lives. it really breaks our hearts mind and souls. btw asian parents really beat their kids using slippers or broom or sometimes a pair of hot tongs
@@hatake_kakashi9658 that still doesn't make abuse ok. You can raise your kids gently with consequences there are many healthy different ways on how to raise children. What you described are two very toxic and polar opposite ways of raising a child
@@ivysdiary1248 i understand what you are going for but the 'abuse' you mentioned is not 'abuse' they don't abuse you that's just their way of raising their kids into some really good and mannered people. I do agree that sometimes they go way more aboard but that doesn't mean they abuse us. there are some people who abuse their children and they are not only in Asia they are all over the world so i believe you understand my testament by this
Besides the funniness of this video, If you went through any of this, by your mom, dad, or haters, please know that you entertain us, and your videos truly make us laugh and smile :')
I am from asia too and yeah that's freaking true. other than doctors, engineers and lawyers they don't think other careers are worth. i know how it feels not to be able to do what you want but be called a failure whenever you don't be the perfect kid they want you to be.
"I wanna make funny videos and make people laugh" Mission succeeded cuz I laugh to my death watching ur funny videos and the Asian mom saying "YOU FAILURE I WISH I HAD A -🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You're the best no matter what anyone thinks of you , as long as you stay honest with yourself and do what you love with passion you won't need to prove yourself anymore , little do you know about the joy of doing what you care about 💕
I’ve only subscribed to 3 people and you’re one of them- soooo funny. I’m practicing these phrases- haaaaaya, I will killll you, you failure. When I say it all my kids laugh. 😂
Sorry but love being shown through hate is harsh and toxic. I'm sorry that your parents brainwashed you to think that them being verbally, emotionally, psychologically and/or physically abusive means they love you.
JESUS loves us, but He doesn't beat us all up. In fact He sacrificed Himself and resurrected for us. But still, I'm sure your parents love you, in the fallen twisted world and ways they were raised. But they don't exactly know how to show it.
Let's all take this as a moment to talk about mental health and emotional abuse in Asian and immigrant communities lol 😅 I'm mixed 1/2 white and 1/2native american and just have a lot of Asian friends and extended family but like, y'all doin ok? I'm concerned
@@israjamal2215 Yeah, it’s honestly disgraceful how horribly they treat their kids!! Why even have kids if you’re just going to beat them and fill them with your toxic hatred?! 😤😤
