My new Tenkara rod was stuck right out of the box, probably from shipping. Glad I found this video which helped me get it unstuck in less than a minute without breaking anything.
I’m glad I saw this mine was folded up inside not allowing the tip to come out so I did what u said and boom there it was tied a knot it in it and it’s ready to go when I want to go fishing
Well - I have the problem - will try this (the second option) and see if I can solve it. The "cord" does look a little open/frayed at the tip - so I hope I cant get it back in okay.
Mine was also stuck from the factor. Took a lot of work to get it free. So far not impressed with this rod. Mine did not come with the knot. Isn't that a quality control issue? We'll see how it fishes.
I hope you watch this vid before you try and get your rod unstuck. I tried to get mine rod unstuck and broke it. Ug. Looked like it could have been fun fly fishing from my paddleboard or in the backcountry. But I don't want to buy another one.
Hmmm... I guess Im not interested in dealing with gear that is so delicate and prone to possible problems like this and losing caps, breaking tips etc. Regular fly rods are delicate enough for me.
