One of the shortest wta players on the tour at 164cm her serves are barely at 60mph and she uses spin and not power shots to her advantage. I doubt even a full force forehand would reach over 80mph from her. That shot looked quite slow under 50 which is less painful than the 100+ your talking about.

Nadal hit that little girl square in the head and she didn't even cry. No doubt a top pro can handle getting hit. I think it's a good strategy to hit it at your opponent if it works.

@@scotth6814 Ons' shot was travelling very slowly. I must admit, there's something a bit strange about players who can hit the ball at 100+mph and discussions around default when the ball is travelling (in this case) maybe 10 mph. A tennis court has a lot of high speed shots for hours at a time, after all.

@@bigrobsydney I agree that it wasn't going to hurt her. But remember Djokovic got defaulted for a ball that he hit a linesperson with that had no pace on it. If I remember right it was the US Open. I'm not saying that she SHOULD have been defaulted, but I think she COULD have been, if the player and the chair ump decided to be pricks.

What to chwalinska? That girl barely serves over 70mph that shot literally looked like 30 maybe 40 mph which isn’t even that painful. If it was someone like serena or pliskova with their 100+ shots then yeah pretty reasonable to react like that.
