Yup in a situation like this all drivers should slow down and since it’s dark then everyone had to put hazard lights on just to alert people in the back to slow down. That’s why America it’s fucked at this point. Our great grandparents used to be so smart. Now people have no common sense. Driving a car it’s the easiest thing but people make it hard with their lack of common sense!

Well for one, it is on the freeway so yes they will be speeding at about 70 to 80 mph but they dont know how to tell a head light from the taillight obviously.

my only defense is that the car is just over a hill. And once you crest the hill, you see a ton of flashing lights and stopped cars on the shoulder, causing you to look that way and become oblivious to the car stopped right in the middle of the freeway.

That cop was smart enough to know he couldn’t help the person stuck in middle of traffic which wasn’t stopping for accident ! And likely would’ve gotten killed and the person stuck in vehicle ! Smartest thing to do is wait until cone is out in front of vehicle then and only then was it safe ! Duh

That wasn't the police that was a stringers car, I always bash them for parking on the side of the highway with their lights on like that, it deviates the attention of other motorists from the hazard in the middle of the highway to their car on the shoulder...............cheap way to make things worse and spice it up for tv i guess.

doesnt work. I was at an exact same accident. car in middle. we had slowed all traffic down and routing to side lane, 200 feet of road flares, when 3 cars ignored all that, came around the line at speed, nearly ran over two guys with signaling flashlights. and then slammed into the wreck. didn't have anyone hurt till then. There is always at least one stupid one.

I appreciate your guys's job but don't be doin this. Either pull behind the car with your lights on to alert other motorists or dont turn them on at all you're only making it worse. Im not sure about LA it's probably a liability for you guys if you were to cause an accident like this though

Steep hill, yes. Does it excuse the impacts? No. Visibility was sufficient. It is clear that the minivan, sedan, and SUV that hit the stopped vehicle weren't paying attention. Especially the sedan. Just watch the brake lights.

@@ITSMEANGIEV Yep that's a media vehicle not CHP. I can tell based on the light pattern. CHP's rear amber light bar pattern is distinctive and the same for all CHP vehicles. That is definitely a white Crown Victoria a photo journalist purchased and put their own lights on the back.
