@@janwetzlar From what I have seen of the games, if the technology is there, and the love for a franchise is there too then wonderful gems like this are born. And I agree that this is the movie we should have gotten. Like the Star Wars movies it should have been: Original Trilogy: - The Terminator - Terminator 2: Judgment Day - Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines Sequel Trilogy: - Terminator Salvation - a Terminator movie partially based off this game titled Terminator Resistance - Terminator: Dark Fate (not the garbage in the theaters) but picking up where the previous movie ended and ending with Skynet sending a T800, T1000, and TX back before John sends Kyle and then the T800 back before he is killed by a T850 trying to capture it. Ending the franchise like that would have made everything full circle in which fans would have been happy, rather than having the previous 2 movies.
Not gonna lie, when I was walking behind John, him holding the binoculars and other soldiers saluting him, I was giddy like a schoolgirl. And when I was storming Skynet and this music started playing, I actually got a tear in my eye. Teyon does what hollywood hacks don't!
Because Hollywood sucks and their petty ego blinds their true talent. They are like these big game studios, overhype and mass spend on a teaser trailer that misleads and the final product is shit. Cashgrab. And a lot copy paste their productions.
We didn't bow down! We didn't give in, we rose up, at this moment, At this hours, willing to sacrifice everything. On this night, WE TAKE BACK OUR WORLDS!
"This is John Connor. If you're listening to this, you ARE the Resistance. Listen to me very carefully. Command wants us to fight like machines. They want us to make cold, calculated decisions. If we behave like them then WHAT IS THE POINT, in winning?"
i do agree that it was made with lots of love and respect to the franchise but it doesnt sadly cover the fact that the enemy AI was abysmal and presented no challenge.
Yep same, I always though the final battle of the future wars was John Connor attacking a base that contains the time travel machinery. If he succeed, the loop stops. If he fails, the loop continues.. And he must send 3 protectors.
If the Salvation trilogy actually happened, this is how it was going to end. T5 was to have John Connor be a stronger leader to a global resistance, and plasma weapons were finally introduced. T6 was the final assault on Skynet, while also capturing and reprogramming two terminators, and have John prevent his "death", setting up the events of T1.
Same :) the devs really picked the giant logical way to close the franchise: you have to justify Skynet not sending armies of infiltrators in the past: a last desperate move while attacked by connor and the resistance was the perfect explanation
@@JackassJunior627 I agree with you, but T5 main character should be Kyle Reese focusing him as a Resistance fighter & becoming John Connor right-hand man (Connor is now in more of a general positions planning & coordinating which makes more sense, he's that important). The main plot for T5 should be Connors attempting to find Skynet main power core (Salvation turns out to be a decoy base, where they made the T800). T6 would the final film, you can just follow up Terminator Resistance 'Jacob Rivers', Teyon pretty much though of a better conclusion to the terminators lore. Now here's the twist, John finally reveals to Reese that he was his father, although he did not reveal who Sarah is except giving him T1 picture, saying "You find out soon. That time will come."
@@danskyl7279 Well that wouldn't make sense, Kyle always knew who Sarah was, he just never understood why John gave him the picture. But while having the picture and grew up on the legend, he fell in love with her. Kyle never new who John's father was, and he wouldn't have told him otherwise it would affect the future.
I ain't kidding when i got goosebumps when i played this part and I am surprised. Such a good game..the guys really did their homework. seriously...the movies should be ashamed.
The publisher inadvertently chose wisely by buying the license rights for the first two Terminator movies. This is Forrest Gump level shit that worked for the game.
Indeed, got the same feeling while pushing through with the HK following. And the moment the Terminator was about to kill Jacob but Skynet went down? That was actually epic, would have loved to see it in a movie - sadly we got certain shit instead.
If this game had a bigger budget it would have been something truly special, even in its current low budget form i was surpised how much i enjoyed this.
sometimes is because of low budget and anonymous developers that comes out big things. And that's because the money doesn't rule their soul or creativity. It's just a matter of "working for the glory". Mass Effect 1 is another example, b4 was taken from EA.....
@@andrewfe7303 Tbh i liked mass effect 2 way better than any other mass effect game including the first. It was better than the first in every way as far as im concerned.
@@eraldorh Mass Effect was far better in terms of it's narrative and making me feel like I was actually in the world. I gave up on Mass Effect 2 about halfway in after grinding dozens of planets for resources. This game benefits from it's lower budget. The developers got their hands dirty and made things happen.
This track is telling us: "this is it. You have ONE try. ONE. All or nothing. If you lose this, everything you've earned, everything you've worked for, all your preparation, will be for nothing. You have to stop this. It's in YOUR HANDS."
This has to be my favorite theme in the whole game. Coupled with a badass final all or nothing push, it's a fantastic moment. It also helps that the beginning of the mission is taken straight from the opening scene of T2
4 года назад
after that walk with John I didnt realize cutscene ended and just stood there a few seconds :D I felt like I was watching a movie.
Helps put that scene into greater context. Never have I thought that the final battle for the survival of the human race was in that scene. I got chills playing it.
The feeling of pushing and not being affraid to die (for the first time in this game) was great. Like your life means nothing and you are willing to sacrifice it for humanity and people you love.
In the original T2 script the opening was the assault on Skynet's mainframe, which sort of translates into the film still. Connor's Tech-Com never really had large scale engagements until the end of the war when all the resources they built up were spent in a last ditch effort to strike at the heart. T2's opening is very much a slugfest with humans and machines scoring equal hits against each other, in contrast to the guerilla warfare in Reese's flashbacks.
Seeing John Connor take position to observe the battle ground with his binoculars like he did in T2, followed by this music, made me feel determined to take on Skynet. This was the Terminator game I always wanted to play.
I dont care what any "Critic" says, this was HANDS DOWN the best Terminator game of all time and it handled the lore and future war perfectly. Who cares if its an "average FPS". Plus these same game critics gave the HORRIFIC Battlefield 2042 a 7/10 average (which did the OPPOSITE of Terminator Resistance and went against everything fans were asking for). I just hope the game devs know how much us Terminator fans appreciated their game
People keep saying they wish this game had a bigger budget. I however find it rather fitting that this game is the way it is because it's so fitting of the original Terminator film, a small budgeted film that did a lot with very little. Yet captured the hearts of audiences with its great story and passion. If this is the last thing the Terminator franchise ever produces, it will have come full circle at last.
Well yeah, sure. But...I NEED a sequel from Teyon. If they made a masterpiece this fucking good with such a low budget, imagine what they could do with a AAA Budget!
It's what I've dreamt of since 1991, this was it... The third installment, the prequel leading up to the first two films. The developers need to take a bow, and know they've made long term fans finally very happy.
Literally this segment could not have been more of a fan’s dream and respectful to the series, and then they went and threw in an allied reprogrammed HK Tank. Incredible.
Best Game and hidden gem of 2019. Where did the game come from. Amazing story and music. Taking out your first low tier machines with standard weapons. Hiding from the t-800’s until you can upgrade your weaponry. Taking down each different kind of terminator for the first time, Finally having enough credits to buy a Heat Seeking rocket launcher off of the QM to shoot down your first HK Ariel. So many outstanding moments in this game until the last mission trumped all. Legendary gentleman. Kudos to the team in Poland. Hope they can add more to the game. More missions and maybe Cooperative to enjoy with friends.
I lied to Erin and Ryan to save their lives and that was the only thing closest to a "mistake" I could think of (moreso for Erin than Ryan). Didn't feel worth it at all. Besides, picking no means Rivers meets up with Jennifer again, which is cool.
@@ESFAndy011 I followed the Stranger's advice and saved everyone, I still feel bad about lying for Erin and Ryan's sake but I would do it again in a heartbeat if it meant saving their life. The only thing I'm not sure about is whether I made a mistake by not going back in time to fill the loop, pretty sure I just doomed that alternate timeline or maybe not, nobody really knows except for that soldier John sent in my place. What matters to me is that the war is finally over AND Rivers gets to start a family with Jennifer and that's good enough of a happy ending for me ;)
@@ToshiroMifuneSamurai nd not a single soul could fault you. What dude had gone through up til then had been hard enough. To tell that same man to go back... Sure John knew that if dude didn't go he'd have to send someone in his place, but for all either of them knew the 'stranger' was destined to die, and John isn't big on sending people to die without some sort of option.
Playing this game on legendary and then reaching this final mission, cutting your way through the open terrain with a plasma minigun with this theme blaring was a moment I will never forget. This game is Terminator 3 in my eyes.
I’ll be honest, when I first played this mission. I had a massive smile on my face. Right from the opening where you get to see that iconic long shot from the beginning of T2 recreated in the final moments of the game. To you realising you had fully progressed into recreating the future war scenes from the movies. To your final encounter with a Terminator echoing the opening of the game where Rivers gets picked up by a T-800. And this kick ass cover starts to play as your shooting down numerous different Terminators from throughout the game. And to top it off, you get to see how the events of T1 and T2 happened. After all of that, I had to sit back and go ‘huh, that game was pretty fun, flawed, but fun’.
Not too long ago, there was a "T2 Reaction video", and during the opening scene where the camera follows John Conner to oversee the battle, somebody posted in the comments section "OMG, Rivers is the cameraman!"
This theme and mission never gets old. It always give me chills especially the line "Rivers, I just got intel from the 124th. They located the central core it was at the coordinates YOU gave" then right after another soldier says "PUSH FORWARD" and at those words i finally understand why the human race won this war. The human spirit is more powerful than the most advanced programing
Programming is the same human spirit taking a different form. When you look closer and deeper, the Terminator is about humanity fighting itself... In one form or another. Our machines are our children.... Given different form... Fighting us with the exact same power we have within us
I kept thinking if I went faster, fought harder, then maybe, just MAYBE I could prevent the T1-T2 cycle happening again as John said when the TDE was being prepped. Ugh...loved this finale, so epic!
@@halophonia Imo alien isolation is overrated as fuck. The first half of the game is ok, then it just gets mediocre annoying and boring. The A.I is outright cheating, and I don't enjoy cheap deaths.
Every other version of The Terminator theme including the main theme for this game sounded sorrowful But the theme for the final battle is a vengeful and triumphant warcry
This was the movie Terminator fans wanted but never got. I had goosebumps during the final mission. Replayed it three or four times. I was skeptical when T:R was announced because Teyon was mostly known for that bad Rambo rail shooter, but they obviously understand the Terminator franchise and are big fans. They got a lot out of a little, much like James Cameron did with the first Terminator movie. It's obvious they really cared.
Just imagine a film scene where this kicks in. Resistance fighters charging with a war cry in unison. Some take a hit and die braver then most but Skynet’s enforcers are getting crushed in the process.
I am strongly convinced that the RoboCop game from Teyon will deliver these amazing emotions we so desparately needed and got with Resistance :-) I love it.
Guys for me this is just canon... The best Terminator story ever, most probably the one that I've always wanted to know, or even better "live" in this case since is a game. Whoever made this, should be awarded...seriously. More than ever this is the REDEMPTION of the entire franchise! Feelings, emotions, adrenaline and goosebumps. I'm so GLAD they never tried to explore the Online PVP universe with this title. You will see, this game will be remembered for decades from every single fan of the franchise! You will finally wash away all the bullshits they made in Hollywwod through by the years.
I recently played through this game on a PS5. I never checked it out and I got my Terminator craze back, so I decided to buy it, and... Holy shit. I couldn't belive it. This is almost everything I ever wanted, easly could make a trillogy with T1 & 2 and maybe you could push in Salvation before this game & Sarah Connor Chronicles after T2. Amazing game for fans, wish we'd gotten a sequel or something. I'll definitley buy the Annihilation Line DLC
The crazy part is that they demonstrate to you, in two scenes of dialogue, exactly why Connor is so revered as the leader of the Resistance. He communicates he knows your mission and trusts in you to see it through to the end, suggests that he's learned to prepare for the unexpected, is playing a long-term game of "Xanatos speed chess" with Skynet, and believed the intel sent by the Stranger before Jacob arrived. And then, when you're finally storming the time-displacement facility, he's constantly hyping you up the whole time. So good!
@@dalesheen1816 Same with dark fate. It completely erased the timeline and ruined the whole story. Plus dark fate was pretty much a fanfic written by a 14 year old tumblr user who only watched Salvation and Genesis.
The guys who made this had the exact same vision that fans had when making up stories for the universe in their heads. It's the Terminator movie we always wanted but never got
It was chilling when the music started to play, being told that Skynet is powering up the TDE, preparing to send Terminators back in time. You race against the clock, only to be stopped by this HK Tank blocking your path to the TDE chamber, then you hear the devastation in John's voice when he says 3 Terminators had successfully went through time. Moments later the Colorado team destroys the central core, shutting Skynet down for good. But it was too late, what's to come had already been set in motion, and history was about to repeat itself
@@incognito9292 Mostly referring to the original. In Resistance we have... plenty of side breasts, full 360° ass and plenty of "sound effects." The animation isn't bad either. It's also quite romantic with Jennifer!
The greatest terminator game ever and the true prequel we never got. When this kicked in the game and you make that final charge with the Terminator tank, OMG, hairs on the back of my neck the greatest gaming experience I have ever had thank you Tayon.
When I heard that music i already had a scene from T2 Judgment day when Arnold melts in lava and says bye to john. Damn that scene hits me hard as hell. Its the only emotional scene in there. Game i would say is fantastic the gameplay the sound effects and music just brilliant i give this game 10/10
This game was awesome, it fit in perfectly and it felt like it should have the movie that so many fans never got, out of all the Terminator movies three of them were good and this should have been the last installment to the movie series, this should have been the 4th movie not salvation
I was nearly in tears during the Final Battle. It was everything I wanted to see. T-800s, purple Plasma blasts, HKs, and the theme playing for all of it. This game might not be innovative or cutting edge, but it delivers a great Terminator experience. Highly recommended.
I got some dust in my eyes when I walked through that passageway and the giant tank was sitting there with the spotlights on, waiting to back you up. Great moment.
Authenticity | Game made for & by lovers of the ORIGINAL Terminator movies & lore | Perfect music, theme & Ambience. This IS my 2019 Game of the Year. And beats out NFS Heat(runners up)
Damn, I love this EPIC score, better than in last movie (Dark Fate). Last battle was same as Mass Effect 2 for me. This game is really good, for me best Terminator game.
I spent my childhood watching the first three films of the saga over and over again. More than anything, the exoskeleton of the T-800 and the Terminatrix scared me to death And in fact, every time I met a Terminator at short distance, maybe behind a corner, I jumped Everytime the first thought was to run like the wind, while the image of the T-800 crushing a skull was formed before my eyes. The hospital level was an inferno for me ahah. This, amplified in the night levels where the first thing I noticed, was their red eyes. But I remember the feelings during "Against Time" and what happened after As I remember the final assault. Humanity had suffered thirty years of devastation And that moment, it was the climax of everything Each soldier of the resistance represented all of us Each of them, as well as Jacob represented hope oh humanity for a new future. In that moment, with Connor behind me I stopped being afraid As Baron said, the machines should being afraid of us And it was so. Skynet, was seeing its end and was sending its best emissaries into the past, running away like a coward. Humanity won , albeit at a very high price We had won by reuniting and giving up being afraid We had won when we found hope and strength, believing in ourself. Something that machines will never have Something that machines can never break. (The 27 rockets stored throughout the run, however, definitely helped me not to be afraid of them AHAH)
This is what keeps the video game Industry alive. It's not the latest computer parts; it's compelling stories and gameplay that drives it. As an author, I can see why so many people have praised this game. It says what Hollywood couldn't make the movies say.
Rampage i think salvation is good too, at least, in concept. I found myself being too bored with the movie. It took me two days to watch it from beginning to end
Just finished this game yesterday, this game needs more recognition for what it has managed to pull off, with out a doubt the best 21st century Terminator game, I hope Teyon continues to make DLC for this game. The ending like many have said when this music is playing in the background is epic and emotional! Thank you for making this game.
People keep saying that Resistance is the Terminator 3 movie we should have gotten, but wouldn't make more sense to be seen as "Terminator Zero" ? That's a prequel, after all.
Even though the final battle in the game would’ve been good as it is without this music, this just elevates it so much. Got so pumped with this playing during the end fight. The game was is a sleeper hit. An absolute blast.
As if this wasn’t enough to humiliate Hollywood, keep in mind the same studio that made this made that godawful Rambo Rail Shooter. That’s pathetic, Hollywood.
@@scorpio20t By Azura, by Azura by Azura I can't believe it's you, standing here - next to meeeeee! Good job mate, good job! I wish you all the best in your future projects.
The whole game I was waiting for it, then the slow guitar version plays with Jennifer which was cute then this mission happens shortly after where you hear it in its full glory and its one of the most awesome moments I played on PS4
This isn't the full track. It's actually split into three or four parts. First is when Connor is walking with you at the start of the mission, then there is a lower tempo version of the final assault theme, and then this kicks in when you've nearly won. Wish someone would upload the full thing in sequence, the prelude parts are dope as hell and it all fits great together.
