Celebrating the return of a legend! After a meticulous restoration, my Terrier locomotive, 2636, built by my dad in 1976, is back in action!
This restoration has been a labour of love, and I'm thrilled to share it with you all.
In this video, we take a celebratory look at 2636 running both passenger and goods trains. The model's smooth operation is paired with captivating archive recordings of Fenchurch, Bodium, and Freshwater, bringing the scene to life.
You'll even get a chance to experience a thrilling passing shot as 2636 overtakes your slower train! And a chance to take a ride behind 2636! Let me know what you think of the restoration in the comments below, and don't forget to like and subscribe for more Model Railways Unlimited adventures!

Make that three days. We're on June 23rd at the moment. I don't do Southern steamies, but how can one not fall in love with the Tiny Terrier Tank Engine? She's cute.

And one more thing... They told that for coreless motors the best regulator is potentiometer.
@ModelRailwaysUnlimited
@ModelRailwaysUnlimited 2 месяца назад
Thanks, if you see the other two videos in this series you will see the motor is in fact an open frame type. But agree that for coreless a pot is best

One thing wrong, we should have been in the first carriage, up close and personal, so the little engine could shout loud and proud down our ears. When a steamy shouts loud down our ears, we can tell she's in fine fettle after restoration. Other than that, we can see she's running well. Just one tip: make sure the little engine has no more than two carriages or wagons for her first run. Unwanted stress on the motor is avoided.

Hallo Mike, did you received my mail? What do you think about Tillig idea? By the way, I've contacted with Maxon motor fabric and talked with them about Gaugemaster, Tillig and Heisswolf controllers. And know what? They do not recommend all of them. Because coreless motors need at least 50 kHz. Small frequancy quite bad to those kind of our motors. They told that this idea of 50, 100 or else Hz was made for iron core motors. That is how things get in reality... Also they give me the link where is written that for coreless motors quite nice to use PWM, but not usual. There are new one, called 3 points. This one is different from usual 2 point because do not harm motor with 0 point or near as usual PWM.
@ModelRailwaysUnlimited
@ModelRailwaysUnlimited 2 месяца назад
Hi, yes I did thanks. Due to many other commitments I've not yet had time to translate and read the articles. Maxon are correct that cordless need more than 50hz. 100hz DC ripple being acceptable as provided by GM and Morely controllers.

@@ModelRailwaysUnlimited the problem, that it should be not hz, but khz.
@ModelRailwaysUnlimited
@ModelRailwaysUnlimited 2 месяца назад
@@Alexander_Sth that is true for any form of pwm due to it's non sinusidal wave form.
