If you want to make it into a lamp I think you should print a few more of different sizes and hang them on the lights of one of those big floorlamps that has a bunch of adjustable arms! It'll look like an alien jungle flower! Maybe have something hanging out of them like pistils.

it looks like tevo payed attention to the build plate criticism cause i just ordered one and got it in the mail and it has a nice glass build plate that already had the test print on it for some reason that was nice to pull off only for me to print it again.

Amazing video! Im trying to use this video to convince my dad we should get it. I already have a Monoprice MP Select mini V2, But, The build plate isnt really to my liking. It easily tears and then we have to replace it. But this tevo looks great. Thanks for the video!

Very interesting. Especially the last part where you used a piece of glass. My Flsun Delta's build plate broke trying to scrape off a project. Yea Broke. 3 plastic screws holding. I'm returning it. I leaning toward this tornado and I appreciate your video.

I don't know if it'll work on that build surface, but when I want to remove particularly stubborn stuck prints on PEI, I spray a little bit of rubbing alcohol on the edges of the print. Doing this with PLA will have it almost instantly self release, and doing it with PETG makes the removal super easy, even on large surface area prints.
@AndreQuirion
@AndreQuirion 6 лет назад
Keep your bed at 35-40c to remove parts! At room temps it's surely stick like crazy. Give it a try, it saved my PEI bed from "glued" ABS (buildtak is quite similar to PEI)
@daelrance6866
@daelrance6866 5 лет назад
I started a print of the spool holder, that came with the printer, using PETG and it stuck fast. Increased the plate temperature to 40 Dec C, and with a little prying using the spatula that was supplied, and the print just pealed off. Now to find out why I got an Error 5 3hrs 40Min into a 10 Hr print.

Nice review! I feel so spoiled having been 3d printing for about 3 years now and never having to level a bed on my Lulzbot mini, then again 3 years ago that set me back $1200 for small 6 inch cube build area. I want a cheaper and bigger printer as well, but I keep getting pulled in by fancy new features like all the cool stuff on the Prusas, that self leveling / centering and quad filament setup has me drooling so much!

Great video, but why do you put glass on it knowing that it has a heated bed? The heated bed is useful only for specific filaments? Like, if i put the glass plate, i would have to relevel everything each time i take it (the glass plate) off to use a special filament? Someone answer please

I am going to purchase a 3D printer but I have never even seen one except in several of these videos. I want to make some simple parts. The problem is I have no idea where to start after the purchase. I have thought of machining a part and then scan it then print it. I have tried to use CAD but did not get along with that program very well. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Can you wait for the part to cool, then quickly turn the heated bed back on (heats up quickly I've heard) to get the part to release easily? I don't have a heated bed on my printer, but I saw someone recommend that once.

Hello! Also became a lucky owner of the Tornado and several questions appeared at once: 1) How to change the filament from one color to another? 2) Is it possible to do this when printing? If possible, then how to move the extruder from the model, fill another filament color, return the extruder to the print position and continue printing?

Hey for your next vid would you consider reviewing the monoprice select v2? I received one as my first printer an would love to see a review of it from you, as what I've found online isn't all that helpful and I'm struggling just a teeny weeny bit. Or could you do a "beginners guide to 3D printing" type thing? Then you could make a more broad series regarding people who are new to printing, cause a channel such as yours probably attracts a lot of them (I mean this in a good way). If you read this, just know that I love your channel so much and that it is one of the main reasons I've gotten into 3D printing. Thank you!

Do you know if it's possible to countersink the screws and mount the build plate it like it should have been mounted in the first place? Also if the layer height is .002 wouldn't you use a .002 feeler gauge and not a .007? How come you use .007, I think most use a .002?

Thanks for the review; I found one of these on craigslist and searched for a review and found your video that way; very useful and actionable information. I have wanted a 3D printer for a good while now; but have been slow to pull the trigger since there is so many models out there; the one I found come with the following items for $350: Raspberry Pi with Octopi. Web cam. All required cables and connections. All original items shipped with Tevo included. Several rolls of filament. Case and 3.5 inch touch screen included with Raspberry Pi. Bed leveler attachment. What would you say; is fair market value? I am still trying to get smart in this area; I build and create a lot; and offen have to make my own parts or try to find something to modify to fit the need. I am also interested in the material used to make the parts, and what there tolerance is for heat, strength and weather. Any information is helpful .. thanks. Peace

Mine arrived about a week ago, had to order the EU plug one because the US plug code expired. Works just the same, even came with an EU to US adapter but I just ended up using an extra weird face plug to mains outlet adapter I had laying around. Took less than an hour to get my first print running. It prints TPU more reliably than my Wanhao I3. I did a 10 hour print using sainsmart tpu at 35mm/s with 0 issue at all, even accidentally didn't disable retraction and still worked. Great printer, I plan on replacing the stepper drivers with Trinamic 2130s to make silent.

What is your first layer height? AFAIK for all buildplate surface sheets like yours the first layer can not be lower than 0.2mm. I usually print at around 0.22-0.25 for the first layer depending on the surface area. Your logos might have needed 0.3 - 0.35mm.
