No need to use another pan to make gravy. Drain about half that oil and make a roux with the rest. Save that butter for the potatoes.

Love this! Eat it all the time with a baked potato(bacon, American cheese, Cheddar& Butter chives)& salad( lettuce, tomato, cucumber, avacado,bacon& dressing salt & pepper, shredded cheese...D o n e!!!❤❤❤

It aint even chicken. Its just the name. Its usually called country fried steak. Thats why she says we "fry" steaks also

Corn starch? My mama just used the white flour and milk with the leavings of the steak oil . Yep the eggs but nothing fancy. So good!!!

The corn starch is added to the dredging flour to make it extra crispy. This is a trick my granny taught me.

I went to a restaurant in New York that was "southern food" and being from Texas i don't know why I even wasted my time. My chicken fried steak came with brown gravy and I was so mad haha.

Just mean it's fried like chicken we (Texas) also have country fried steak which is the same but the difference is it is served with brown gravy and sauteed onions. We also have chicken fried chicken lol which is actually chicken breast pounded flat breaded and fried like chicken fried steak. Trust me when you come to Texas you gone leave here like a fat cat Come and visit now you hear 🤣🤣🤣🤣
