Download Monster Legends for IOS and Android through this link to get your free rewards: mtchm.de/4oxx7 Big thanks to Monster Legends for sponsoring this video, now I can actually be a real RU-vidr. A couple of people have posted contention with my rebalance idea, and I should clarify that it would only be able to suck one projectile at a time. So you can’t suck up a whole sticky trap at once or anything like that. However, an issue I hadn’t considered was how this could mess with explosive jumping at close range which would be a major problem.
You'll get over it, I used to have that too but then I decided as soon as I get my crits either Bait people or punish those who tried you like a spy for an enemy who pushed
That’s definitely what this weapon was meant for, but if you’re playing phlog pyro to begin with, I doubt you’d care enough to equip a secondary to support your team when _another_ secondary is… particularly -evil- good when paired with the phlog.
if the Phlog had the more fair version of the old HP gain being 50HP on Mpph activation that could overheal and had the Short Circuit Delete Balls that cost 65 ammo, would that make it better? as for the Mannmelter, maybe make it extinguish, remove Jarate, Mad Milk and Gasoline debuffs, bleed removal IMO should be only healing items related.
@@moronribbons5774 I thought of the Third Degree to be a Health siphon/heal on hit item because of the "damage transfers through the heal beam" stat, but also having a projectile destruction alt fire is something simple but very useful and needed.
@@argotherat5841 one of my ideas was to make it a vitality siphon critical energies exciter axe/a health steal that overheals leads to crits when overhealed sort of buff. that said, I think all the stock weapons need something over nothing, except the medigun, since it actually has something like the invincibility uber.
I say give Third Degree the stat it has in vs_Hale. +15% ubercharge for your pocket medic on hit. With some basic downside, like 15 slower swing speed.
Maybe Shounic could do a video on it. Seems like it would be right up his alley, and he might figure out exactly which coding oversight(s) cause it to happen. Hopefully that would point the community in the direction of what to do to avoid triggering it.
I’m honestly hoping there is a way to mod it out or something. I would imagine if you do anything severe with your game files VAC will have a fit, but, if I only delete the png for the fireball maybe it won’t be mad? Who knows.
Yeah that would work. What about flaming players? Should you still be able to catch multiple crits with them, or should they be one and done like the projectiles do you think? I propose keeping the ability to hold multiple crits on multiple extinguishes.
@@woooof_Its pretty much a better shotgun because it hit that fat 90 from any distance and doesn't suffer from falloff or bullet spread. Shotgun countering other Pyros is itself a slight myth; because enemy Pyros have ZERO resistance to fire damage, they're just afterburn immune. So the flamethrower still does 100% damage.
That Manmelter and Dragon’s fury is something I actually want to try out Also, the worst part about the Manmelter is that it isn’t called the Mannmelter, but I guess that’s because it looks kinda weird
@@ambassadorgaming8411 Perhaps not, but they don't like modifying others' intellectual property (they won't even make festivized/australium versions of the Grordbort weapons).
One seems too low but I feel like actually having *some* sort of cap, like 5 or something, might actually help people with that frontier justice syndrome because now you're forced to atleast use the crits in order to feel like you're not missing out on more crits
@@kimgkomg Frontier Justice Syndrome _is_ being used in reference to the Pyro here. Fish calls it that in the video because it's a problem that's more notable on, well, the Frontier Justice.
@@syweb2 I'm not saying that it isn't as prevalent on engineer, I'm just saying that a crit cap wouldn't work as well on engineer because he's a weak defensive class. Adding a cap wouldn't his playstyle very much, since engineer needs to put himself in harm's way to take advantage of his crits. So you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. Pyro, on the other hand, can easily circumvent the limitation by playing more aggressively. It would only negatively impact overly cautious players, as opposed to all of them
Actually, that CDI intro was not stupid, it was genius, as this weapon reduces enemies to the same particles used in the "1 month later" cutaway in that same game
Like Skyral said, the game blows. I've played the game, it's fun for like five minutes before you realize you now have to spend money to do anything in a timely manner.
Honestly, this vid made me stop using the Scorch Shot entirely in favor of the Manmelter, it's just so much more fun to use! Plus, it's a feel good moment when you save your teammates and launch a critical flare at a "supposedly" fire proof Pyro. Oh, I'm sorry, you can't be set on fire? Don't care, here's 90 damage in your face anyways, see ya.
@@Zorutan stop, just take a good look at yourself, ask yourself the following: have I harmed anyone with this comment? The answer is yes, if you couldn't tell by my angry comment. Now here are the critical steps to undo this damage; delete this fucking comment. Thank you for your cooperation
This is one of the few weapons where the incomplete animations actually hurt the use of the gun. Since you don’t manually reload it, you lose out on the clear visual indication that it’s finished reloading. Players who aren’t used to keeping an internal timer for these things will this confusing, while people who can do that sort of thing will find the lack of feedback to be frustrating.
@@superdupergoober important note: when it’s ready to fire again. There is no indication of how long the reload process will take, or how far through it currently is. With regular flare guns, it’s easy: just wait for the next flare to be put into the tube. With the Mannmelter? It just ends up feeling awkward as you sit there waiting for the next shot to be ready at some undetermined point. Example: let’s say that you shoot someone with the MM. then you whip out your flamethrower to airblast a rocket. You pull out the MM again to finish off an enemy. Is it reloaded yet? Because of the lack of animations, you have no way of knowing.
Crazy idea: swap the functionality of the Manmelter and Third Degree. Imagine the Manmelter setting everyone that’s connected by a healing beam on fire (be it from Medics or Dispensers) and dealing mini-crits if they have afterburn. Imagine using the Third Degree to extinguish allies in order to gain some health and guaranteed critical melee hits.
@@drsex5483 ah yes, we made it to this exhibit. Here we see someone who has no respect for a skilled Pyro. If I remember correctly, common nicknames for this creature are "dumbass", "whiny bitch", and "skill issue". Now if you'll excuse me I would like to talk to this creature directly, as it is in fact capable of communication. Let me get this out of the way and say this. Pyro. Is Not. Overpowered. He never was. You're telling me, that you hate Pyro just because he's a balanced class? Your first main reason for hating Pyro is because he counters Spy. That is one of the main attributes of a good Pyro player, being able to constantly spy check to make sure both themself and their team doesn't get "backstabbed" by a Spy with 9 million ping, and being able to remove sappers if the Pyro has the Homewrecker/Neon Annihilator. Secondly, you say that he can counter pocketed Soldiers and Demos. And out of all the things that someone could hate about Pyro, you chose airblast? If you don't want to get reflected, then don't shoot projectiles at the damn Pyro! A good Pyro should be rewarded for being able to deal with any class with a Medic shoved up their ass. Sincerely, a F2P Pyro main.
I can imagine a scene where pyro is catching a rocket out of the air, struggling to keep his hands on the manmelter as it decimates the rocket into molecules, and when he's done, he laughs in an evil way.
@@dkskcjfjswwwwwws413 First of all, how is that relevant to what I'm saying? Second of all, the Manmelter is definitely nowhere near the worst weapon fish has covered or will cover, but compared to the other flare guns, it's just kind of worse. You can't really combo people anytime, it relys on there being an enemy Pyro for it to be at its most effective, and it has lots of visual bugs
Thanks for this combo!, I've been spending most of my time in FaceIt matches against scorch shot pyros with the Dragon's fury combo!, I've been constantly top-scoring thanks to this!, I really enjoy this combo and it allows me to play my favourite weapon with a fun and also viable combo!
This video's length: 16:46 Soundsmith's "Return of the Flava Flav Scout" video length: 16:46 A very subtle hint that the next episode is gonna be the Boston Basher.
Dream stans scare me because they are supposed to be Humans, and apparently SOMEHOW they exist. No years of experience in psychology can help me understand why and how the fuck they *are* a thing.
I just recently started watching your videos about a week or so ago, and I know this video is a year old, but I just wanted to say I’m very proud of you and happy for you for getting your first sponsorship. You make great videos and it is very evident that you put a lot of time and thought into what you create. Keep it going, my man.
I've never even thought about using the dragons fury before this video "Dragon's Melter" as I call it is really fun, it feels completely different, like its pyro's demoknight (besides the other million alternate playstyles that monstrosity has) really makes me wish the Melter had penetration like the dragon's does, it would make crits a lot more useful
I imagine your idea of how the Man Melter being kind of like the Physic Gun with how it holds the projectile and I like the thought of this being something that takes time so it won't be a spammable thing, which I would imagine would cause an annoying Pyro meta with the Phlog Pyro having a secondary that would cover their butts.
3:32 I come back to this video years later, having gotten into F1 in between watches, only for you to have the GALL, the NERVE, the CAJONES to show a clip of my FAVORITE DRIVER sliding his way into the barrier. (for anyone curious, that is Charles Leclerc driving for Ferrari)
@@Top2BottomGaming God, I've seen more polite and civilized people on Reddit than the toxic waste dump that is the RU-vid comment section. But yeah, that probably would not end well. Dr. Bright would turn Reddit into his personal playground.
I think that the buf to the "big suc" at the end of the wideo could be used for some realy cool rocket/granade surfing interactions if implemented well. You could cancel the disintegration while you have grabed the projectile while looking downwards for a "manmelterjump".
I saw the name Spynamite, and I remembered how fucking funny it was to find that spy main who thought he was the coolest shit ever, and then he turned on his mic, best game of Upward ever for that reason
The Mannmelter suffers from the Sun on a Stick-syndrome: It's not bad on paper, but the issue is that the main upsides are completely out of your control.
I thought to myself “I’m not downloading monster legends just to torture monsters by feeding them raw tomatoes” but then I thought “you know what? I’ll do it for fish”
The sponsored segment hits different when you realize that #dreampissedhimself was trending on twitter yesterday, specifically because of people who are mad about people being horny about dream
I like to combine it with the Backburner. The extinguishing function somewhat counters the increased airblast cost of the backburner, while still being able to reflect projectiles (unlike the phlog).
I think a good buff for the Manmelter would be to make the flares themselves extinguish teammates too, being able to extinguish at long ranges would make it so useful and also fun.
The Pyro is a class of many counters, and while watching I thought that maybe the Mannmelter could be buffed so its used to counter Brainless pyro players, and punish them. Maybe something about getting a big buff if you succ fire from teammates like 3 times in a second so that if someone's brainlessly W+M1ing or scorchshotting theyll be punished. Obviously more refined but the idea is there.
Instead of the projectile manipulation, give the weapon a fast switch speed. This will encourage the player to use it for extinguishing instead of using their primary
In my opinion, the manmelter is a pretty good weapon when your team is holding a chokepoint or just behind the front lines, where pyros, scouts, and spies are trying to push out or kill the other team, like that one part of egypt with the obelisk, I forgot which part of it. The section at least.
I may be cringe but i think the mnmelter is such a good counter to the scorch shot abusers. If you use the manmelter on dustbowl or a choky map you can see its so viable because there is at least 1 or 2 scorch shot pyros
