Using pure muscle to move the old cab to the garage was a huge pain, but we need your help in choosing which cab with should use the majority of. Both have a lot of rust and we can't decide which one to choose. Don't mind the old school face full of dirt, rust and sunburn, it felt like one of the early days again.

Tac and move. Take your time. If you go to fast you’ll Warp the panels. Love the show. Keep up the great work.

Thank you and that’s what I heard. I attempted to practice but I need to get thinner wire. Hopefully we can get this thing running and driving asap.

The dolly was a huge and great idea. Now it can be wheeled outside to be pressure washed, sand blasted or just moved around the shop. You are right they make plenty of patch panels out there for C10's and got really isn't a bad issue. Just time and money to replace with panels. Just make sure to add seam seal to the list if you dont have any.

Yes that is a great idea. And I saw the dolly in someone else’s channel. Plus I don’t want to weld or cut over my frame.

I see some deep learning on sheet metal cut/patch and blending in your future! Best of luck and look forward to seeing your progress!

Thank you. I have practiced and thankfully have friends who know welding and body work so hopefully I don’t ruin it.

Always wear safety glasses when you're grinding or cutting

You are 100 percent correct!

Woah your cab is a bit worse than mine. Can't wait to see how you tackle it. I'd say between the two you have a complete cab.
@RESTORATIONRESCUE

Haha that’s what we are hoping. We have bought a lot of panels so I think we should be good

@@RESTORATIONRESCUE You'll get it worked out. The only advice I can give is take your time on fitment. I'll spend an hour cutting and fitting for 5 minutes of welding. Also take your time welding the heat does strange things to the metal.

@@ericdeller1759 I have been practicing. So I’m hoping we will do okay.

The 1963 chevy truck was unique because it has the cab of the early model 1960- 1963 with the wrap around windshield. But the frame is the cheaper ladder frame that has the spring suspension in the front. The early model is a X Box frame with the torsion bars suspension and the hydraulic clutch .The 1964 to 1966 have very little differences. Chevy changed the early style. That was called a car like ride on a truck. A truck before its time. Hydraulic clutch didn't come back until the 80s as well as the torsion bars suspension. Now it is widely used. I have heard from a lot of people that say that 1960 to 1966 trucks are the same. The 1963 is very much desired as the earlier models are much more rare and harder to find. The front bumpers don't interchange and the frame cab mounts are a little different set up. Just a little bit of FYI

Also there are differences in the doors of a 1963 in comparison to the 1960-1962. Our truck is one of a kind lol. We definitely picked the hardest one to start on. But thanks for all the info.

@@RESTORATIONRESCUE I haven't seen any difference in the doors. The 1960 to 1963 doors are identical to me. What did I miss?

@@vm722 from what I was told if you put 62 or earlier the doors rub on the body

Sandblast the cab.get the mice doodoo out. When people park the vehicles th mice use the seat cotton for their home. Gotta get it all out. Take off the roof section. Don't start cutting until you have a replacement piece made. Bought. Borrowed. Whatever. Work on one section at a time. Need to stop the rust. You got a lot of welding fabrication fitting. Hammer and dolly work. It takes planning and time time time. Lots Of time. Oh and grinding. Wow lots of grinding It can be done. You can do it. Just keep doing something every time you can.

Thank you! We are starting from the bottom up. We are getting little by little in so far and we are having a blast. Once we finish the underside we are going to build up into the floor.

i retract my previous statement about having a decent donor, that thing is really rough. might be a good idea to start practicing welding sheet metal. it will look good when youre done but its going to take awhile. took me 4 hours just to do the little bit i had to fix on mine that i shouldnt have had to. look forward to seeing how you do the roof skin.
@RESTORATIONRESCUE

Yeah we weren’t expecting that bad. But thankfully the patch panels are plenty. So we are gonna just try our best.

@@RESTORATIONRESCUE that's all you can do. And when it's done you can say I did that. More pride when it's finished.

I’m near Richmond. A legit body shop to do it is Woods in New Kent.

I highly suggest safety glasses when cutting and grinding. Seen many loose their vision from not wearing safety glasses.

We have since. We appreciate the advice though. We have been doing things safer since the beginning.
