Hank Williams Jr. talks about his love for Big Hole Montana, hunting, and the great outdoors. All while giving a tour of his ranch and surrounding area. Footage captured from "Hank Williams Jr. Full Access" VHS 1989.
This clip from his Full Access video is what spurred my first trip to Montana in 1991. Went again in 2019 and going again in August 2023. The place has a hold on this ol’ Kentucky boy.
Just got back to WNC from Bozeman today. Spent the last month fishing and checking out the Snow. That State from end to end is unreal. I have been coming out for 30 years now I have friends and family out there! If You get a chance to check out the Salmon-Challis National Forest in Idaho it is worth the drive over!
So glad I lived during Hank's heyday! I saw him 6 times here, in Alabama; it was always a homecoming party. Some of his ad-lib lyrics were legendary. Great job, Bocephus. Ol' Hank would be proud.
I am a hunter, trapper from northern BC Canada myself. I enjoyed this video clip, great to see men like Hank who have such a love and respect for Gods great creation. God Bless you Hank and all your watchers.
That's where I am now where your Dads buried in Alabama for past 40 years. Heading to a farm in Kentucky in about six months . This country boy will survive :)
I worked for an old Montana rancher this winter helping finish a new house addition. At the end of the day after dinner we would have whiskey and tell stories. He was telling me all these stories about his old friend - Dick Willy - and the times they had back in the day, ranching guiding hunters ect. I think it was out on their homesteads in Cascade county Montana he spoke of. One night he is telling me stories of having Hank Williams jr out on his ranch to hunt elk. He said it was on numerous occasions. I was thinking he had one too many but I was working for him and was there for the job so took it as drunken yarns. I was surprised to hear Hank show up in this video with a guy named Dick Willy...I guess it was true afterall haha
Hank Jr, has been blessed by the ol Man up stairs, from birth. #1 He was fathered by an American Music Legend, #2 He was given abilities to sing in tune, while playing a guitar, #3 write songs that touch hearts worldwide, #4 was given a industructable Liver , #5 was given his life back after turning his face bones to dust during a fall off a 500ft cliff. #6 was able to achieve a super career in country music, with multiple awards, with thousands of unbelievable concerts and 100 times as many amazing people and fans that would do anything for Bocephus. #7 many children who have musical talents of there own. #8 through out his life he has had multiple women that went far beyond a acceptable limit just to try and keep him. #9 a long life with relatively good health #10 all the classic cars, guitars, and broken heart scars one could ever ask for. And the list just keeps on going.
Very talented and very entertaining man. I love his tracks and I love when he does other folk's stuff as well. Way to go Hank! And this is a great part of the USA, Montana and Idaho!
I lived east of the Big Hole country and worked in Idaho. Friday evenings I would travel through the area and would see Bo Cephus in Big Hole. I would cringe if it was a gun show weekend because we liked the same type of old western firearms. He would always win out with his deeper pockets, but he was always a gentleman about it. Gives me fond memories and he's right about the great hunting there!
Me and my husband have seen hank jr more than once and also went too see his son Sheldon in crystal river FL.and my husband gave Sheldon his wrangler rebel flag shirt and we went on his tour bus and hung out and talk with the him and the band and Hank Jrs ex fiddle player was there too, man that guy can play and we got pictures with Sheldon, he's one cool cat, God bless you all.

I just went to Montana and Idaho for the first time last year. Probably the most beautiful place on the planet and the people are the best that you'll find anywhere. God, I can't wait to go back!!
I love that part of the country this video does the beautiful place no justice as to how beautiful it really is...how the rivers run wide and crystal clear
Old man I worked with 20 years ago lived in Montana as a cowboy many years before.. He would ride fences and repair them. Told me some properties would take up to two weeks to run the fence and repair.. Told me a story about Hank coming into a bar one night throwing his mouth and weight around.. Apparently the cowboys in the bar didn’t like that and handed Hank his ass.. Cool story still a fan
@@mariomcrae6595 Guess you have never been to Montana. It doesnt matter who you are, famous or not, if you act like a fool, you will get chin checked.. lol
I came off the Bear Tooth & came into Yellowstone on the Eastern side did the loop then dropped down into Jackson Wyoming. Did it on a Harley with some good people. Excellent ride, not done yet.
loved those old square body trucks had a 1975 myself, back when trucks were made to work with. noticed Hank shifting gears, that's a real truck from back in the days. Got to love Hank too just a common man
@@JHH284 I have a 76 myself. Its got a different front clip and doors (82 clip and 84 doors) with a 425 Cadillac big block engine. Kinda a unusual to see in these trucks lol
@@jessepancamo8449 Well Sir...a Rebel yell of Yee haw works as well as Yee Yee. I had me a little Hillbilly Girlfriend in Tennessee that used “ Yee Yee” often. So it kinda rubbed off on me...(Ha ha ha)
Love listening to people who love the old ways. My grandpa was from the holler of Kentucky, and used to hunt squirrels for dinner, and was happy if he got an orange in his Xmas stocking. He was the eldest of nine, and he and my uncle would tell some stories 😂 Miss them both, but, time waits for no one.
I think his view of the mountains from his reloading area is really neat. The view around my reloading area is a barn wall and a couple of saddle racks. LOL!
Hank you remember when you went to Bondia springs Florida and you went in this small bar in Florida and you stayed at a friends house in Bob Cole it was probably 35 years ago I think

And Hank you're my kind of people God bless you for North Caroline I've been to big hole Battlefield in 2005 I was wondering how close Hank Ranch was from there
Man, I'd give nearly anything to have that old yellow truck of his. Wouldn't that be a treasure. The only thing better would be getting to hunt with him .
I just had to showem I didn’t needem so I headed out west to see some old friends of mine . Thought if I’d climb up ol Ajax mountain maybe that would help me get all off my mind .
I was 20 when this video was made The 80s was a decade like no other If only the teenage me could have spoken to the 50 year old me Hahah I’m sure the teenage me wouldn’t have listened to one word Well unless the word was Party hardy and don’t sleep more than 4 hours a night Enjoy every minute as if it was my last
I remember Hank's Montana Exchange store in Cullman, Alabama. I was a kid when it was there in the 80s. They sold boots and other cowboy gear. Not a lot of cowboys in Cullman Alabama. There was a cool stuffed Grizzly bear in the corner, tho.
