It is a well-known fact that Pavithra Idli Hotel on NH 48 in Khyatasandra, just outside Tumakuru is famous for the thatte idli that they have been dishing out for 36 years now. But what I found most interesting is the meticulous attention to detail of the owner, Mr. Udaykumar, he actually refers to himself as the third owner, the first two, he says, are his customers and employees, in his well-planned and spacious kitchen, that is more than twice the size of the dining area, and could perhaps outrival most traditional kitchens on the highways of India. So confident is he about his back areas that he offers willing customers a tour without hesitation. It is no wonder then that the fare served here - the thatte idli, and also a scrumptious mini benne masala dosae that I wasn't expecting - has swarms of fans for whom a stop at Pavithra Idli is a must when on the road here.

Tumkur is the most underrated city. Tumkur is known for tatte idli, where ever you go in Tumkur city, you will find tatte idlis. Most of the people will think that bidadi idli is the oldest one but that’s not the truth, tatte idli is born in tumkur. It is mentioned in history too by one of the poet of Mysore palace. Tumkur has a history of 500+ years on idlis. I request you to contact one of the historian in Tumkur and explore more tatte idli places in Tumkur, so that people of Karnataka will get to know about the history of idli and tumkur

I am happy to say I have been visiting this place since 2001 during my days at SIT Tumkur. Even now, I made it a point to visit the places near Tumkur and eat my breakfast at this place. Excellent food and people

My favourite eatery of my hometown Tumkur. Owner Mr. Uday Kumar and his sons are very customer friendly and cooperative. We never miss to have Idli/dosey here when we are on this route.

As a food technologist, I always had a concern that getting hygienic and unadulterated food is nearly impossible in today's world but your videos proved me wrong and I think I changed my perception. I am glad that there are still hotels that give priority to quality and hygiene. I have been to Bangalore multiple times in my childhood but never heard about all these hotels except MTR. Sad that RU-vid was not there at that time, if it's there, you would have posted these videos and I would have visited. Sir, your way of video making and vocabulary makes me feel hungry with mouth watering even after a heavy meal. As you say I need to come and savour these dishes soon. Such a down to earth person- Uday Kumar sir🙏 He calls himself as third owner and considers his customers & staff as 1st & 2nd owner .. Almost evry time v visit Tumkur v make a point to visit Pavithra thatte idli hotel😋😋

4:25 I really don't know why mixing is still done by putting the full arm in the idli batter....really puts me off...traditional is great but where is the hygiene here and why do we need to eat whatever is on his arm in that hot kitchen along with the idli

Please also add whether the restaurant staff has been vaccinated, this will be good and you should also visit the restaurant where the staff and the owners are vaccinated so that this will not only help the customers and also to ensure you join the drive of every one where you visit is vaccinated

once you consistently attained par excellence in your work you will automatically earn authority on that subject. a connoisseur like Kripal has an unparalleled way of describing eateries and food and has authority in Idali, Dose and such authentic food. Respect - the owner has the process down. The food looks delicious. One suggestion - please apply a coat paint inside. Do it every year. It will brighten up the whole place and also kill any bacteria and fungi forming on the walls and ceiling.
