The 2021 Nissan Rogue Platinum is KNOCKING at Infiniti's doors... 

Just bought a 2021 Nissan Platinum in Pearl White. Absolutely awesome vehicle. We tested the Santa Fe, the Genesis GV80, the Infiniti QX50 and others. This blows them all away!!! Love the new Rogue, everyone needs to forget about the old CVT, this one is great!! Highly recommended!!

You’re basically getting an Infiniti interior on the Platinum. One trim level down and you don’t get nice leather. Unfortunately the power is lame and still uses CVT. I get it, it’s fine for most consumers.

The interior looks far better than the RAV4 and CRV

We have the platinum...SO much nicer than the toyota's interior. So far we love it. It's out 7th nissan and we haven't had any issues

These newer Nissans are far better than what Nissan was selling just a few years. Its like someone at Nissan just woke up.

they need to make a plug-in version like the Rav-4.

Europe has to wait until 2022 for this with a Hybrid 😕.

Which gen Rogue is the QX50 and QX55 based off of?

At my local Nissan dealer, they would have previous-gen Rouges that were built all over the world. Looking at the parts content, it was truly a world car. Parked side by side, you couldn't tell the difference.

Thanks for the review it was so good. This vehicle with the new refresh is absolutely amazing especially with this platinum trim but I’d definitely go with Mazda CX-5 with turbo engine. Mazda pretty much covers all the points you said in this review plus that turbo engine performance definitely knocks this vehicle out of the park except the only holding thing with Mazda is the rear seat leg room and cargo volume.

With a 2.5 liter engine and CVT, I'd like to see you compare this vs. a Forester.

These are beautiful cars. Nissan is the cheap version of Infiniti now their cars are looking better even that new Pathfinder.

I drive for a living and anecdotally the Rouge drivers I stay clear of. I don't know if it has a blind spot or they get too comfortable or perhaps the cruise control is not safe for the drivers around them but I can say I get in defensive driving mode when I see them.

Everyone commenting here about the CVT.. Yeah I don't like them either but the good news is that the Rouge will soon be available with Nissan's e-Power hybrid technology which does not have a transmission and will have similar or better fuel efficiency to the boring RAV4 Hybrid.

They definitely should add the VC-Turbo to this on the Platinum & then add the V6/9-speed combo to the QX50 as a Red Sport 300 model w/AWD standard ✅👌🏽🥳

My only concern about this vehicle is it’s reliability. I don’t know how true this is but I’ve heard that they’ve already had several recalls.

I don't care how many luxury options it has. If it's not reliable it's junk. I have a relative who recently bought a used 2018 Rogue with under 40k miles. They are already complaining about all the problems they've had with it. Thank you, but we'll stick with our Mazda CX-5 Sig.

I still think the Rav4 looks better but the Rouge does have features I wish I had in mine Rav4 like wireless android auto, a full digital dash and heads up display but with Nissan's horrible reliability I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. My brother has a 14 Juke and its had a ton of issues sounds horrible, my parent's '04 Sienna is in way better shape than that thing.

Morning, Kirk! Again, the NO B@LLS issue with Nissan. I'm now believing Nissan should ditch the whole Infiniti brand that's going nowhere and give the proper stuff to the highest levels. I'd even propose to give these a (Lincoln) Black Series or (Ford of Europe) Viginale "concierge service" to Nissan's Platinum Series instead of Infiniti. Maybe then a proper US-spec Rogue (replacing QX55) and Xtrail (replacing the QX50) with both the VCT and the ePower Hybrid as optional powertrains. Hope someone else then give a proper "411 review" on the new 3-pot Rogue to see if the engine is any good.

Yup, the interior and exterior look great. They could have, at least, thrown a launch gear in with the CVT. For all the effort Nissan put into this car they fell flat with the CVT.

Looking at this I would've thought it was an INFINITI had I not viewed the title. I think it is a beautiful vehicle and hope it represents a continued upward trend for the company.

Nissan looks much better than toyota and honda. Period.

This is where Nissan failed, I know plenty of car mechanics even some who work at Nissan and they all say that Nissan's CVT transmission is dumb and weak. It is the weakest link in the car. People have seen the CVT transmissions go out early as 50k miles. What Nissan needs to do is if they are going to sell a 40K car, they need to offer an actual gear box transmission. It doesn't even have to be a 9 speed. It can be a 6 speed like the CX-5. Basically Nissan needs to offer an full gear box transmission for higher trims or else their sales are going to continue to suck, and eventually probably go bankrupt. What people want is a reliable car that can get them easy 200k to 300k miles, then all the fancy interior, and have their CVT transmission go out at 50k miles.

It's a very nice looking vehicle but the CVT is a deal breaker, RAV 4 all day my friend.
